Enjoyed the group ride. It makes the longer ones more bearable! My companion app keeps dropping out so can’t always chat much. I’m going to try and get out in the real world for the next few weekends as I’ve a big race coming up, so a Friday night group ride suits me best.

I did one of those this morning! I soon realised I’ve been on Zwift to long as there was no pint of water sitting on a stool next to me! ‘Twas a thirsty ride!

Edit – Eastern Europe is very male dominated and antiquated in it’s approach to women. I don’t think they’re really interested in changing peoples attitudes toward different genders at the moment.

What a start to the weekend! Makes up for earlier in the week!

Had a very busy week this week so I had to double dunt today! Ham sandwich for breakfast and Amalgam for dinner. Wish I’d done them the other way round 🥵 (or been more organised!).

Sunday am’s are good for me.

Definitely try Campervan Brewery as they will be able to accommodate you in the bar they have down Leith.

Also try getting in touch with the guys from Pilot as they might be able to do something (if they can’t, just slag them off on Twitter and see how they react 😂)

What did I do wrong?

This happened to me the first (and only) time I tried an STW group ride. I was stuck on the virtual turbo for several minutes after everyone else left then all of a sudden I was released but nobody else was around!

I think they’re designed to be stronger so there is less debris on the track if there’s any contact. Less debris = Less safety cars (sorry for mentioning safety cars!)

Didn’t start well!

are you wearing massive shoes or do you have huuuge feet? Are your cleats in the rearmost position, thus your feet are quite forward?

Cleats are as far forward and in as I can get. I bought a much slimmer pair of shoes (Fizik Terra’s) but didn’t cure things!

It sounds more like the frame is the wrong tool for the job.

Im gobsmacked this is a thing on gravel bikes which are supposedly built fir stuff where you’ll be doing slowish, trickyish climbs.

I’d be taking it back to the shop and saying not fit for purpose.

How much extra clearance do you need?

I’m unsure but it is quite severe and I guess the extra 10mm TT length won’t be enough!!

It’s techy climbs on a gravel bike that bug me.

Yup, it’s on my gravel bike so really bugs me!

Top tube length would give a proxy measurement I guess if it was say 2cm longer you’d expect fork/wheel to be forward by similar amount.

That’s what I was thinking. The difference in the 2 frame sizes TT length looks like its only about 10mm

If using clips what would be the recommended shoe style to clamber over “that bit” along Loch Lommond
