Last year managed the Frontier 300 and some 200km+ bike packing trips round Loch Tay area.

This year I’ve entered the Dirty Reiver 200 and am loosely planning a bike friendly lap of the NC500.

Have a look for the manual for your boiler. It should show you what outlet is the condensate (it’s usually a plastic pipe. My boiler has a plastic and copper pipe running down the side of the building with the plastic one being the condensate.

I actually ran our boiler like this for a couple of weeks with the condensate running into large plastic boxes!

I’m currently doing that but a gas engineer pal of mine warned that you can sometimes get Carbon Monoxide come through the condensate pipe so you need to be very careful (I have a CO monitor next to the boiler so hopefully won’t have any issues!).

I’d be reporting that! I’ve never been attacked as such but I was once chased by a dog while on my bike. I kept going, and going……………and going! Still to this day I have no idea if the dog found it’s owner again!

I’ve been half joking/ serious about this term for a while. The “mountain” part does put people off, but if there was a more open/ generic term that enticed people into cycling it could improve things in many ways (prices may go even further through the roof tho!). People these days seem to need to rebrand things so they feel it’s their own little niche. Wild Biking or Cycling might fit 🤔

Just call it “Wild cycling” and everyone will jump on the bandwagon! It worked for swimming and camping 😉

Two pages in and nobody’s mentioned pork pie meat in a scotch pie pastry case. Far better than your southern version! Because the pastry lid is lower than the case you can melt cheese or fill with any condiment you fancy. Forsyth’s in Peebles is a prime example of this far superior pie.

Cheers. Is it advisable to book campsites for a 1 man tent. I don’t want to be restrained by a timetable but want to stay at a couple of campsites to recharge batteries etc.

A mate found a lump 2-3 months ago, had an orchidectomy, it was cancerous, it doesn’t appear to have spread, he just needs monitoring. He was very upset at the time, but is in a much better place now.

This was me 3 years ago. Dr called me while in the school hall watching my kids Judo lesson. I paraphrase but the conversation went something like “Hi, you’ve got cancer”. Walking back into that gym hall was one of the hardest things I’ve done in my life. Quick op and I’m absolutely fine so really, really don’t worry. If it’s cancer, you’ve got the easiest one to deal with.

Day 62 – and I have a confession to make! I’ve missed about 17 days so far but back on track now. Work knackered things up for me through October. Mostly Zwift still, but managed a 100km ride in the real world on Saturday and 50 on Sunday. I will, in no way claim I’ve even got close to the 100 days but going to try and stay in the rhythm of this. Well done to all that have stuck to it better than I have!
