Like most on here I have been very careful over the last 11 months. I could count on one hand how many times I’ve been in a supermarket in that time. My wife does click & collect. I’ve been at home while schooling two primary kids, staying very local for exercise. Only been to the Pentlands a couple of times as we’re in north Edinburgh. But I’m getting to the point that I feel cycling a big loop in different LA areas while never stopping at a cafe etc is of little risk to anybody. So doing it once every couple of weeks while the weathers improving isn’t a big risk.

For my own sanity I really need it!

Edit – TJ, on your list I was 1, moved to 2 and progressing to 3 on the odd occasion.

I don’t think it’s a yes, unless when you say “your house in Edinburgh” is in fact in West/Mid/East Lothian, which in that case it’s a yes 😀

    Ah! I see your point!

    jodafett – yes

Cheers. A lap or two of the Borders this weekend then!

Your start/finish point must be within 5miles (8km) of up your council area.

    Start/finish point.

Does that mean I could cycle from my house in Edinburgh, down to the Borders and back and stay within the rules. Yes/ No answers please ( I’m not trying to start an argument). I’m trying to train for a race and doing 100km+ round the city is pretty tiresome, and that includes a lap of the Pentlands!

Really? I don’t think the folk of Shetland should have to live with the consequences of trolley-licking Glaswegians.

    Coffee, Screen interface 😂😂

If like me your weight has gone up… it’s likely to be the additional weight of hair, hairdressers being shut and all that 😉 There’s now an extension, so all achievable still. 11 weeks to go.

A welcome extension as I’ve been stuck around the 80kg mark for months! Down to 78.8kg this week tho so it might still be achievable!! 👍🏼👍🏼

I’ve got Wellgo KC001’s on both my kids bikes. They’ve lasted ages and have good grip. I got both sets of eBay.

Steaks the size of my doorstep followed by a white chocolate ginger cheesecake made by my son and I. This is more for the kids as my wife’s not a fan of valentines 🥳🥳

Mainly turbo sessions again this week but I did manage an 11k run after discovering my local shared use path has been completely cleared of snow unlike the pavements round my house!

Hope it wasn’t me. I added to it this afternoon but not sure the exact time! 😬

I reckon this is devious plan to start another long running thread. I’m gonna come back in ten years time to prove my point 😉

I’d definately have a go at them with an axe. You might not split them but imagine how fit you would get trying!

Well if there was any doubt, it’s settled, GOAT

More Super Bowl wins than any NFL TEAM!!! That’s an impressive stat!

I loved how they introduced him at the start,

“He’s playing the biggest game of his life…..for the 10th time!”

Could you split them with an axe sledgehammer?

A week of turbo sessions this week from a Garmin training plan. Only one run so need to up my game a bit on that as I’m trying to do 25k a week.

I entered a duathlon after Lockdown 1.0 scheduled for March. Just received an email saying they comply with the latest Government guidelines and the race will be going ahead. Personally I think they’re at it! I don’t think I’ll be doing it!

Edit – I’m also doing the Frontier 300 in June but I’ve not heard anything about that yet!

Then realised we’d had a tail wind and the reversed headwind was like mini ice spears to the face all the way back.

    Ouch!

My Grandad had a 3l Ghia, bronze with brown vinyl roof. It was left to rot and when he passed it was given to me. At the time I was a young idiot with no mechanical skills or interest so we basically gave it away! I saw it a few years later, fully restored! It was stunning. One of the biggest regrets of my life! I will not return to this thread!!

Anywhere in the South of Edinburgh. Bonaly, Currie, Balerno. All next to Heriot Watt and 20/ 30 mins from Peebles while being on the edge of the Pentlands.

I recently used Fizik Terra on my bike. Gravel specific dontcha know! Thicker than normal and really grippy. I’m impressed with it (but I do have limited experience of bar tapes!)

    Get yourself a Hip Pack

Hip Packs are so last year. It’s all about the bar bags this season! (supposedly)

This could be my new favourite thread! I’ve just ordered a new Gravel/adventure/whatever bike and bought some Bivy equipment (a tarp and a sleeping bag so far). Plan on doing some one night local stuff to start with. Might start with the Capital trail as it goes past my doorstep.

Managed my 100km ride for January round Edinburgh city limits. Still a bit icy through the Pentlands. Nearly came an embarrassing cropper a few times!

Edit – That’s a photo from the week before but it’s my first photo posting success so it’s a win in my book!

Woke up with a hangover so abandoned my riding plans. Got invited sailing so went whale chasing in the Forth after hearing sightings of Humpbacks on the local wildlife Facebook page. 30 mins of yoga tonight.

Their Chilli is one of the nicest ones I’ve ever made!

I really think it’s made a difference, particularly to my running. It’s like my hips just feel more free to move.

Couldn’t agree more, I just need to do it more often!

I’m trying to do a half marathon and at least one 100km ride per month and as usual I’ve left it to the last minute! Half marathon this morning round Arthurs Seat and planning a 100km ride around the city limits of Edinburgh tomorrow!

MFP is £7.99 p/m. I used it during the christmas chub club and helped me stay on track. I’ve stopped it now as I seem to have better habits now (ish!).

Sat on the turbo again today as it was a tad icy outside. Finished watching Anchorman and started on Wayne’s World to pass the time. Makes it a lot easier!

I ordered a CGR 725 GRX build before Xmas, email last week said it wont be built until 30th May!

That might be more to do with the GRX than anything else. I’ve recently ordered a new gravel bike and the SRAM version was available in Feb but I was told if I wanted GRX it was end of April at the earliest!

I genuinely can’t remember the last time I had cash on me! Slightly distorted by the fact I’ve hardly been anywhere recently tho!

Another vote for the Airshot. Never had an issue with it.
