Feeling crap after drinking beer is often nothing to do with alcohol – obviously within reason, but more likely to do with the chemicals and preservatives and all manner of artificial additives that they put into commercial mass produced beer and other alcoholic products.

Definitely this. Try some proper German beer as it’s brewed to the Reinheitsgebot (purity law) which means it can only be brewed with water, hops and barley (yeast wasn’t included for some reason). You’ll then find out if it’s the alcohol content or not.

Bagpipes are the worst sound in the entire world.

Gaspipes on there own are awful but when you hear them with the full band they’re quite special.

My 9yo daughter has always called them “Gaspipes”. I think the names stuck now!

My Grandads old Alsatian once opened the oven (on timer so hadn’t came on yet) and pulled out the huge beef roast. Carefully, without tearing a bit she unwrapped the tinfoil and scoffed the lot.

Hmm that’s good. Are Uber drivers licensed by the council in the same way?

I had a very close pass from a black cab driver in Edinburgh. So close I had to bang on his side window, and maintained eye contact through his wing mirror. Caught up with him at the lights and he told me I was a “worthless piece of ****, nobody cares about cyclists and if I report him to the Police they will just laugh”. This all happened with no prior incident with this driver, totally out of the blue as I was cycling in a cycle lane! I reported him to the council and received a lovely letter saying they had hauled him in for a disciplinary and that this incident will remain on his license forever. I was quite chuffed with that outcome.
