Probation periods are usually 3 months whenever I have seen them. You would normally expect to have had a written agreement stating that you were on a probation period and what would happen after a certain amount of time.

Sounds like this is not the case and at the end of the day you essentially took a job offer at a certain level and wage.

I would have a chat with your line manager and put your case forward in a positive and constructive way stating that you feel you have performed well over the past year and would like to discuss an increase in grade and salary in line with the original job advert. They will only be receptive to this if you have performed well and they have noticed this so you may want to work on a ‘sales pitch’ for yourself.

They do that all the time. Don’t know if the tactic is to bring you to their site and you will buy something anyway. Has the opposite effect on me and I buy very little, if anything, from them these days.

Nickel weighs more than the Heckler so if you’re looking for something for a lighter build you may want to look elsewhere.

I have a 16″ Scandal and 30″ inside leg on a good day. Running a 350mm seat post at maximum extension (100mm in the frame).

So I would say definitely go for the 18″ as recommended above.

On-one recommend a shorter stem of 70-90mm. I run a 100mm which feels way too long so changing it soon for a 70mm.

Using an IPod Touch and it works really well. Have to do a fair amount of ‘two fingering’ to zoom in and out but totally useable. Imagine an iPad would remove the need to zoom so would be much better.

I love the alsatian at the bottom of the page. It’s a keeper.

Very much depends on how your work IT systems are set up. My work blocks certain websites between 9-5 during week days on our PCs. Same goes for my Blackberry so I can’t get on the gmail website.

Also tried downloading the Gmail app which didn’t seem to work so I assume they have somehow blocked that too.

All seems like black magic to me as it doesn’t work in or out of the office.

Why not phone your IT department and just ask them. Worst case is they tell you no.

On quite a few occasions I have also had 1 bike in the boot with the 2/3 split seat down, so 3 people and 3 bikes.

Car is through Leaseplan by the way. If it was my own car I would have knocked them back when they were fitted.

Insurance is our company’s own cover so it may affect that as well.

It’s a company car so I’ll drop the leasing company an email when I’m back at work. They authorised them in the first place via their computer link system with Kwik-fit.
