i ride 2:1 everywhere (and equivalent 29er gear), be that for long rides, short rides, races, or just to the chip shop and back, and be that in lumpy Sussex, flat Norfolk, the pointy Peaks, pointier Scotland or a multitude of other places

ride the same gear, if you’re going to change gears on a SS you might as well put gears on

i’ve got a 2008, the bearings in the wheels aren’t so hot (actually the wheels as a whole ain’t so good) and the headset needs replacing after a year, in fact most everything has been upgraded on it, it’s a lovely bike now, i like the ride a lot, one of the best 29ers i’ve tried

might be worth looking at the bars as well, what ones are on there ATM?
some “Ergo” bars are exactly the opposite for those with wee paws as they put your hands further away from the levers
