But we’re in good old Blighty and warm and dusty is just a temporary state. I’m a mountain biker too, ignoring the fact I’ve done four times as many miles on the road :?
If you’re only 7 miles from Pines, you’re only 90 mins at most from the dark peak. Plenty of classic routes downloadable on tinterweb. And this is coming from a Pines regular.
My wife stopped talking to me for a few hours once. She then said “Right, now I’m talking to you…..”. She was even angrier when I said I hadn’t noticed she’d been giving me the silent treatment. :D
There are a couple of singletrack/downhill trails on the penken mountain at Mayrhofen which is where you’ll pass through on the way to the hintertux. The guys at the bike hire in the big marquee (Max something) are really helpful.
Car on the drive, engine running, baby inside; this bit worries me the most. It would only take a second for the worst to happen and it wouldn’t be the first time.
The boulders are still there and some smaller ones have been added in the rebuild. It’s as has been said, in the bike park. There are couple of drop offs to be aware of though.
See any Danny Mac or similar video to learn how to front flip before attempting again. Seriously I think you dodged a bullet there though. At which exact moment did you realise it wasn’t going to end well?
On a short break on Rutland Water, 35 mile road ride, bit of miniature golf, bit of tennis (playing and watching), tuna steak for dinner with beer and wine. Similar tomorrow with the weekend crowds no doubt.
Doing the Great Notts Bike Ride next Sunday. 100 miles seems a little daunting at the mo, due to an annoying dry tickly cough and streaming nose. Didn’t realise it fell within Bike Week though.
Riding slightly up hill today on a quiet but wide enough road, a few slight bends so not 100 percent vision, Flash Harry in his Masserati decides the safest course of action would be to boot it past me to within 18″. Two seconds later the road straightened and he would have seen enough to use the other side of the road. Still, that was today’s only incident.
As will says, there is a new trail from Bilsthorpe on the old pit railway line that links into the back of sherwood pines. Not sure where you’d park though.
