People who see them as overpriced are not actually going in looking to buy a bike. A conversation with a reasonable dealer will have a bike found for you and sold at a really competitive prices.

For example I am currently selling the previous Carbon 5010 (V2) fully built starting at £2800

    Fox 34s

    NX 11spd

    Race Face Dropper

Its a mega bike, many would say the perfect trail bike. And under 3k brand new.

Not all SC bikes are 10k dream builds

@cheekysprocket – the jump from the V3 to the V4 nomad is huge! It’s the most pronounced improvement in their range.

Also there are some mega deals to be had on carbon and Alu V4 Nomads right now. Buying a V3 would be a mistake in my humble (yet informed) opinion

Feel free to PM me if you need any help. I run an SC dealership.

    Tom,

I never can really understand what your problem with us is? I work for Sick! You have never once enquired about a bike ? What makes you think our products are so bad?

I can’t imagjne anything having had a harder life than an ex-demo Ebike!

I got to ride the new Lapierre E-Zesty with the Shimano steps motor and the new Snake Battery.

I have never thought much of any Lapierre bike I have ridden before, but this this absolutely ripped. Suspension felt lovely and plush. It felt much nicer than the 2019 Levo I rode the week before.

I’m glad that things worked out that way for you. But that’s just one asshole meeting another asshole. (Her and him)

and to suggest some cosmic force put her in her situation would also suggest it put you in yours. And that’s doing you a disservice

I would wager your hard work, morals, eithics put you there. Not karma.

If karma existed, in the way it’s spoke about so regularly. Wouldn’t anyone who had ever made money selling weapons, big pharma, drugs, slaves etc all be dead or on the bones of their ass.

Im not being argumentative, I just find it a fascinting discussion

Edited the spelling, cheers. I struggle with my spelling sometimes

The amount of people citing  Karma as an actual thing is amazing. Really?

Genuine question here, do you guys actually believe in the concept of Karma?

In my humble opinion it simply doesn’t exist. If it doesn’t find and punish those that profit from misery, then I don’t think it will come looking for the likes of me any times soon.

    edited for spelling

I would go CAAD12 Disk and save for a super nice set of wheels. Arguably all the road bike anyone this side of the TDF would need.

    I have previously owned a CAAD8 and a CAAD10

Kinda short (490 in XL) and kinda steep 66deg.

No envelopes being pushed at SC with this one

I have the exactl same question.

I have a pair of standard Hopetech Enduro 29” wheels on pro four hubs. I’m assuming they are 23mm internal.

What is the widest tyre I can run? Can I go past 2.4?

If not. What would be a good big tyre to run?

I’m guessing the next bike they will release is the Longshot Rocket Max.

I love the look of low stack, high rise bars. Not enough companies make 780mm bars with a 50mm rise.

    Yep. All works fine.

BTR make a 26” version of their Ranger.

Cotic do the new BFe in a 26” version too.

No one in power is going to help sadly, so all we can do as humans is form communities and help each other out whenever we can.

I battle depression daily and have struggled with thoughts of suicide before. Like Binners, I struggle a bit with feelings at Xmas time.

Threads like this warm the heart and make you realise the world may be awful but not all people are.

Its never easy for guys to stick their hand up and say they are struggling with something. That’s why threads like this are so important, and the community on here rallies around and offers love and support ad anything they can do.

Make sure your kids stick some stuff on the Amazon wish list.

You’re doing well, keep your head up and keep us all posted. Don’t just disappear as people will worry.

Maybe OP gets the kids to set up an amazon wish list? Then we can buy stuff off the list and the delivery details stay anonymous. Would be cool to make sure this year those kids had a load of gifts to open. Doesn’t need to cost a fortune.

Can we have a little bit of a STW Toy Drive for the kids for Xmas? Have amazon send them straight to an address wiggles is happy to let us have. We must waste a collective fortune on man toys and bike bling. I would rather send wiggles kids something than buy more shite I don’t need.

The community this site has is amazing. The help and emails I received from my similar thread mad eme realise the world isn’t awful.

Don’t struggle alone buddy. We are all here to listen and help.

So, I sold all my MTBs and only have a Gravel bike these days. But, its bikes like this that have the debit card itching.

That bloke from Pinned TV has one that looks incredible. Love the Murmur and the Swoop.

I have an email from Superstar to say that a 110bcd asymmetric ring is what’s required for the SRAM Apex 1, so I assume I am covered for a return should it not fit.

    jmatlock

So, according to Superstar themselves the ring needed is a 110bcd Asymetric.

It may be worth it. None of the well known chainring manufacturers like SS/ Uberbike/ One Up/ absolute black seem to have an answer.

It’s auowr frustrating that Superstar can’t even answer this themselves. I really want to rub an Oval ring and it looks like I may need to change the entire crankset

    jmatlock

Really hoping someone may wade in and help us with this.

I’m very interested in a definite answer to this. I want to put a 40t oval on my new Apex 1 chainset.

I even emailed superstar and they couldn’t tell me what one to go for.

So, I signed up for the Wiggle Spring sadde. Little 75mile sportive. A couple of years back I would have breezed it. I did the 2016 Dragon Ride and finished. So I though a goal might be a good reason to get some weight off and miles in my legs.

I walked into my garage one day and just got the jump with it. Just felt so overwhelmed by this massive pile of material possessions like bikes and Lego and video games and other junk I sold the lot.

Now there is one bike; and my drawing desk in there. That’s it.

I sold my entire collection one weekend when I was feeling particularly down.

I sold a Cotic BFe, An Escapade, 2 SE Bikes Big Ripper 29’’ BMXs and a Cannondale CAAD10

I now have one nice Gravel Bike to cover all my riding until I feel slim enough and for enough to warrant an Aero road bike

Awesome to see this thread still going. Things have got a bit worse for me over the last couple weeks. Really struggling. But I did get out for a few miles on my new bike at the weekend.

    Thanks for your advice guys

I have converted Ultegra and 105 Cranks to Single Ring before.

So maybe I need to go Sram Force CX OR Dura Ace

I wouldn’t want people to worry about meet ups being an excuse to rob someone of their bike. I think the chances are slim to none to be fair.

I don’t really have a budget, I just really dislike the Apex chainset.

So, If I swap to a Shimano 68mm Hollowtech BB I could run XT/XTR/Dura Ace cranks with an aftermarket 42t N/W Ring?

    jmatlock

Love seeing people sticking their hat in the ring and talking a bit. I was taught at a young age to don’t cry and to stop being soft. So it’s hard to be honest about how you feel some days.

Has anyone got any good recommendations of books or podcasts that have helped them during bad times?
