What have you done to that.

I’m sure you can buy a 29″ Slaughter.

    Rutland Cycles sell them.

I did a hard 30 miles off road today. But having been fiddling and testing the bike set up over the winter I reckon I may have nailed it.

I also have finally hit the hang of a proper bunny hop! Flat pedals too!

I went fromn 20+ years of SPDs to flats last autumn and I am still finding bunny hopping hard. I really used to rely on the bike being attached.

I use 5:10s and Superstar Nanos.

The bike is a Large 29r Camber any my first full suspension bike.

I can hop a hardtail with no issues at all.

Any tips? (Sorry for the hijack)

How are they if you get caught in the rain? Does it damage them?

It was do-able. I just thought I brought the wrong tool for the job that day.

Camber was perfect for 95% of the other stuff that week.

I would love to have a crack at the local version.

I will be honest, I felt a bit underbiked on my Camber. Like the bike just couldn’t recover from the big rock hits.

I got around just fine but at Whinlatter the bike felt perfect and flew.

I did the Borrowdale Bash recently and hated it. But some stuff we found around Latrigg, Keswick and of course Whinlatter was exceptional.

    Wouldn’t bother riding bash again.

Hoping the Hero comes up to order on CRC before the 15% off orders over £99 expires!

    Rude not to at £85

Do you need a mega powerful laptop to do anything with the footage?

I have the map. I will study it.

Anyone got any tips on finding some of the cheeky stuff.

I am heading up to Keswick tomorrow and have never been.

Can someone give me a decent route to ride as I have no GPS so files are no good to me .

Simple step by step instructions to follow?

I see loads of place names, I just need help stringing them together

    Cheers

I would be interested in the XS if you were looking to split.
I can’t see an email address for you but we have traded before. Easton 70mm stem.

I live in Ely if you ever fancy a ride out. Road or Off.

I live in Ely, the City Cycle Centre (IMHO) is useless!

Stock high end kit but no nothing about it, try their hardness not to sell you it and never return calls

    Station Cycles Barnwell Road
    Ben Heywards in Horningsea
Billy’s / Ison Distribution if you don’t kind feeling really old .

The shop at the High Lodge Trail Centre in Thetford is also laughably bad.

I have never been spoken to so poorly in a shop.

However, Thetford is Suffolk , not Cambridgeshire.

They vary wildly. Station Cycles on Barnwell road are fantastic. Always bend over backwards to help.

However the branch in town and in Histon really are not great.

    Binners,

Is yours a Decathlon own branded one?

    Like this one?

    Binners,

I was confused at their choices!

What one did you go for?

    Rich,

That looks great. Packs really nice and small.

My upper limit is £100 but I would happily spend less.

I just dont want to buy a cheap one then an expensive one.

You could swap to a set of Deores, sell the Avids and only be a few quid down.

I swapped from Elixir 3s to SLX last week and can’t believe the difference.

I always thought it was a cliche but Avid brakes are truly terrible.

They are doing single chain ring versions of a few models and dubbing then SCR versions.

Basically factory 1x 10 set ups.

    jmatlock

Do they do a SCR version of that T130?

    jmatlock

The new SCR versions of the range look wicked.

I have had a few Whyte bikes in the past.

    JW1
    PRST-1

    and more recently a 2010 901

    Loved them!

They come up big for their size, I replaced the 901 with a Specialized Camber.

My ultimate bike would be an S Works Venge in Tom Boonen colourway.

    DA Di2
Nice set of HED Aero wheels

    Job done.

Has it been confirmed by anyone who has ridden one that its ‘not functionally better’

    Or are we guessing?

The only real world facts are the price.

If they would hurry up an release an offical 120mm Pike I would be happy with that!

Looks amazing, would look even better on the front of my Camber but that is HUGE money.

Does it come with a hub or would I need to factor in a whole new front wheel?

    Its just so nice.

I had one. Bit of a horror story this…

Thought it was a boil or a spot, left it a few day.
Wife came home to found be with a raging infection based temperature.
Rushed to hospital to have it operated on, it had made it all the way to my spine.
They cored it out and left a hole you could put your whole middle finger in.
I had to have to have bandages re packed 3 times a day to start with, at home as I was bed bound .
I ended up having 4 months off work as it just wouldn’t heel.
It’s such a bad area to keep clean it just kept getting infected.

Sorry for the bad formatting as I am on my iPhone.

I recently bought a 2013 Camber Comp, Never had a 29er or a FS before so I knew it would feel wierd to start with. My LBS only had a Stumpy in so I sat on that to get the size right and then ordered the Camber

Put a few miles on it, swapped out the stem and bars and its perfect.

Its easy to get wrapped up in Geo numbers and stuff, but the bike you test ride is ultimatley very different to how it ends up feeling after a few personal tweaks anyway.

    Dont over think it.

    I don’t really know myself.

I would be doing single nights out, mainly in the warmer months.

I’m not after luxury so would be happy with a tarp/sleeping bag/ bivvy bag/ ground mat set up.

I don’t want to load the bike up with the proverbial kitchen sink.
