Have you tried the Universities? I believe you can book room in the halls of residence for the weekend. I suspect it maybe full but if you look on runnersworld forum I am sure you will be able to find a contact number.

Been on one holiday with Ian and Kate at Luchon. Even though only my girlfriend and I had booked for that week, they still kept the holiday running and did not ask us to change weeks which was superb. The guiding, location, skills training and support was excellent. It was very tailored to the individual and the number of trails out there is amazing, even though we only did the easier ones.
The food each night was simply superb and they could not have been more helpful. Don't go there thinking you are going to lose weight though.
Would highly recommend it, and also the skills training in the uk. A very professional company indeed. The holiday couldn't have been better.

Not sure if it helps but in my situation it helped doing the following. For items stolen and no longer available I spoke and got the manufacturer to say what the equivalent model is nowadays and rrp. For instance in terms of hifi the equivalent model had gone up in price. For computers if they are old, the equivalent model was cheaper. I was honest and put all the details down on the claim form ie paid price and equivalent replacement price with the corresponding emails for backup. Also put details on saying I had chosen the particular hifi after listening etc. So in terms of camera you could argue you want such or such a manufacturer because of lenses etc, ergomnomics etc. Mine eventually settled with a cheque, but it did take me a while to source all the information for the claim form.

Paul from AQR/Cotic certainly does not seem to have any problem bunnyhopping a small framed cotic.

Cheers leftyboy, we went to Lake Bohinj a couple of years ago, loved it, even though it was like going back 20 years.

How are you meant to clean the chain after you have applied squirt. Do you use a degreaser and re apply or do you just use water?

How about the canal path into orout of Leeds towards Bingley. The other alternative is around the Harewood Estate, but that is hilly in places.

Have been trying to fix it tonight. When I start it up it automatically starts on Windows Boot Manager, and then I select Windows 7. Then when the windows password comes up, its already full of characters. Once I have then cleared that and put in the usual password, the computers appears to work ok, and all the keys appear to work. Have run anti virus but nothing picked up. Why is it starting on the windows boot manager. Anything else i can check?

Is there an easy way to reinstall the operating system? I haven't a clue how to do that to be honest. The operating system was already installed. I did do a backup onto an external hard drive a while ago if thats helps, but did not receive the Windows 7 disks with the laptop and have no recover disks. I believe there is a recovery partition but not sure if that will do the job, and if so, will I lose all documents.

I have XT brakes and bled mine on two different bikes. The brakes work fine and the lever goes stiff after only about 10-15mm or movement. They do feel very solid but it would be nice to have a bit more lever throw before they come on. They have been bled form caliper and reservoir, I do not think they are over filled. Would be grateful for some advice if anybody has any. The bite adjustment screw does not seem to do anything.

I just heard a few people mention about the grub screws bending, so was hoping to use a chaintug to tension the chain easier and also extra reassurance. Looks as though I need an extra long skewers if they do ones.

Is anyone using the Genesis IO and Surly Chain Tug combination?

Well the way I have set up the chaintug it adds about 5mm to the width of the frame, the drops out are about 6mm also. Maybe I am doing something completely wrong.

havent really looked too closely. I thought turning the low adjustment screw in as tight as possible should have limited it. Just doesnt seem to working.

Can only echo Jons comments. Superb result from Kate. 24th in the World MTB championships and people are questioning whether that is a good result? Anybody who watched the live footage will know that is an outstanding result on a very tough and technical course. Well done Kate and her support team.

Fully agree with the riders of the night, the two under 12s on mountain bikes and Lizzie Armitstead.

It does seem slightly ironic posting a thread about this at about 11.40am when you are due a disciplinary about it, unless you are posting from home. May not look good if they do further checks.

Anybody know of any good deals on the ones recommended so far?

At 4’11” I thnk the choice will be slightly limited. My girlfriend is a little taller, and the only bikes we found a year ago that fitted were the Santa Cruz Juliana and the Titus Motolite. These were the only two bikes which had enough standover. I believe the Orange Diva could be another option. I am afraid these all are above budget especially with the increase in component prices in the last year. Feel free to contact me if you require any further information. It worth just looking on the websites and checking standover dimensions. It is also a nightmare trying to find shops with the xs sizes in stock.

The chain is worn out and needs replacing, so I just wondered if there is anything out there better in terms of lasting longer, stronger or easier to remove.

Will it be worth changing the back to a 180 also, or won’t that make much difference?

My girlfriend is approx the same height, and we looked at most models of full suspension bikes. The only two that we found that fitted were the Titus Motolite and the Santa Cruz Juliana. Both these bikes gave the best standover, with the Titus being slightly smaller and more standover. You can get the Titus Motolite in an aluminium frame only, and then get it built up using components from Merlin Cycles at a good price. Shimano parts have gone up quite a bit from last year though. Have you tried the Juliana?
