Spada large fit me very closely, no room for pads my legs are short but manly. Think Lou Ferrino befor he goes green but he’s just had a paper cut.
Ankle cuffs not terrible but generally as a wet weather uplift trouser needing pads, no way. For wet cross country, commuting or ebiking, maybe.
You’d need gaiter of some sort otherwise the water is going straight in the sock.
The expansion closure thing is good for before and after a massive fry up or pie.
Shame they seem decent quality the large isn’t long on me and my stumpy legs though. 31 inch jeans.

If anyone is selling a nice posh frameset Basso or something exotic in medium for next to **** all I’d be interested.

The downside with rim brakes for me is the tyre clearance. I don’t think I could go back to 25mm tyres with my weight and 110psi.
Saying that I have a set of FFWD carbon 50mm very light very aero tubs I was considering building a bike around (I have an ultegra rim groupset) so I’m still tempted if anyone is getting rid of a fancy medium lightweight frame. It would be a summer bike to use on good roads- so wouldn’t get much use. Rim brake road bikes also look better.

I have no specific info on those islands but…
You can’t go wrong with a hard tail and quick tyres. IME a lot of the islands interior are gravel- but take the direct route, not a lot of switch backs, they are old goat herder roads and go straight up.

My want was always long waterproof trousers with a high back and built in braces so no need to tighten at the waist, and let hot air out. Could they zip up to the knee to put pads on, insane. Could they flare at the bottom a bit to deflect water over the shoe, could they have a loop to clip onto the laces, could the shin be properly waterproof.
Yes they could and they’d be £200 so I’m out.

    It’s such a shit name.
Apart from that I can’t see the appeal, even if they were super cheap.

Tried and tested system- upgrade your brakes, give Mrs MOAA your old ones, everyone wins.

Matt, see what Magura MT5’s are these days. Beware though you really need to hold on when you hit the brakes, they are very powerful. Loads of modulation though.
    Or these…

We had the same drove a bit to a test place in Witney, paid £20 it came back negative.
They came up easily enough so unless you are breaking them into tiny bits, drilling or sanding them, I can’t see much danger even if they have asbestos in, wear a decent mask and a disposable suit I guess.

I would get a bike you can commute in more often. I was doing a 40 mile round trip 2-3 times a week. Bought a Ti charge plug, it was awesome. Actually like the cliche magic carpet ride- 42mm tyres and ti and SRAM rival 1*11 which was silent. Had my fastest time on my road bike which is a not too fancy but not bad Vitus, knocking ten mins off at just under the hour, flat out, tail wind and the lights all in my favour and the legs were up for it, hobbled home of course. Ended up getting a fully mud guarded and racked ebike. Still flat out on the flats but it dragged me home head wind or not. Did this 4 times a week, lost loads of weight and fitness went skyward. It also meant I could enjoy a Sunday ride not feeling too battered. Ebike riding also stops you racing in, taking daft chances and calms you down a bit, which in traffic is a good thing.
If you don’t fancy the ebike thing- stick the fatest GPS 5000 you can on the fast bike with latex tubes, real world difference for not stupid money. Maybe get a fancy seat post with extra flex in it, and thick bar tape, or just chill and take the comfy bike also with the GPS tyres and latex.

Put these over the top of your sock. Trousers that cover the dock/shoe interface helps as well.

Apparently a lot of the wounded will be particularly to face and eyes as the pagers bleeped first, so they were held up to be looked at. I’m guessing the numbers of those blinded etc will come to be known in the next few days. Horrendous.

A very handy thread this, my youngest goes to Bangor in a couple of days. He’s 20 and went to Bournemouth a couple of years ago and hated it and dropped out. He never reached out to anyone- organised everything himself and really blocked us out. Now he’s a bit more self aware, aware of his ADHD, got a councilor, and talks more. Hopefully he will fully immerse himself into uni life, and enjoy himself, as well as seek out all the support the uni has when and if he needs it. Bangor looks ace, I’ll be annoying him when i start visiting CYB again but still.

You too can look embarrassed and petrified and have fun times during sidewinds. Idiots. Obviously some kind of AI joke. The robots have finally taken over.

My mate has one and it’s fantastic. Rival hydro possibly more reliable than Ultegra as well.
We’ve been watching the price for a friend of a friend and this is the lowest it’s been, and was great value at £1300.
    Now £999

My 20 yr old son has an ADHD diagnosis, and like many here, having been aware of the symptoms I’m pretty sure I do too (I definitely do).
Anyway- in typical impulsive fashion, after dropping out of uni a couple of years ago, he has gone through clearing and is off to Bangor uni (I know- v happy) in two weeks.
Are there any organisational bits of software anyone can recommend to help him organise his assignments, prioritise, and focus.
I’d also like to know for myself.
Or maybe not software- what’s that thing where you write stuff on post it notes and physically move along a board.
    Thanks

Yeah weight is a big deal, my FS ebike is difficult to lift into the car unless I do some proper loin girding, and I’m a sturdy fellow.
