32 years ago I lived just up the road from those blue bells on the side of the Malverns. When I did there were hardly any bluebells on that patch of the hills, there were also very few trees. How it’s changed!!

Great event again, GPX was a little sketchy but got me out of trouble more than once when I missed the signs. Glad to see ‘keep left if you are pushing’ signs, makes it a whole lot better if you are still riding up. Great event, great people and lovely countryside. Just who does live in those amazing Cotswold mansions!!?

Yes thanks, housing looks ok. Just put a load of vaseline around the housing before clamping the rubber boot back on again. Seems to be working at the moment…..

Being Mayor of my hometown for 2 years! Not sure how it came about and I was very relieved when it was all over as it really got in the way of biking (oh and family life!). But looking back I’m proud to have done it.

Well done to Jerry and his team for once again organising a great event! Couple of suggestions for next year 1] Co-incide the event with the Annual Kington Wheelbarrow race again and 2] NEVER serve up half cooked spuds and cabbage with baked beans everagain! Sorry but it was truly awful!

Earlier this week I rode out past a mighty oak, which I have been riding past for years, and when I came back 20 mins later this is what I saw!!

In the immortal words of Victor Meldrew ‘I couldn’t belieeeeeeve it!!’ no real gales or lightening. I had to look on the trail to convince myself that it was the same trail, and there were my tyre tracks running under the fallen boughs! A real sorry sight to see such an old tree fall like this….. but it was as rotten as a pear! Don’ sit under old trees guys!
