If the system works, how is it that we had a hung parliament, then the parties chose between themselves how it panned out without any further input from the electorate?

This isn’t a democracy. The Queen has veto over laws concerning her and since she’s at least nominally in charge of the armed forces and the police and a lot of tax havens that doesn’t leave a whole lot that’s important for us to have the vote on.
If we want to change this situation through the ballot box, we can’t; her Majesty can simply veto our democratic decision.

Then we should remember how many times this country’s been successfully conquered. The Romans managed and we still have the top-down heirarchical societal structure they left us with. William the Conqueror took us over and we still live with decisions he made, like the monarch owns all the land (if you’re a freeholder, you only own title to the freehold, not the freehold itself. That belongs to her Maj, you remember, the one we never elected and can’t vote out of office). Then the Dutch bankers funded William of Orange to come over and get us all tied up in paying eternal debts to the banks, which has worked out very nicely for the banks but means much of our efforts don’t go towards furthering our own interests. And we put up with all of this. Greece had it easy.

Can someone run me through the recruitment process please to clarify that those earning these elevated salaries are indeed of sufficient calibre?

Surely to ensure you truly have the best, it should be the one who has risen the furthest in life through personal qualities and achievements, rather than the one who has exploited their born privileges (Cough, Eton)

From what I can see, there is no qualification related entry requirements or aptitude test:

    https://nationalcareersservice.direct.gov.uk/advice/planning/jobprofiles/Pages/memberofparliament%28mp%29.aspx

short of entrepreneurial endeavours, I can’t think of another industry where such lax parameters apply.

I think we need regular ATOS style audits to ensure value for money is being delivered and the system is not being exploited by scroungers 😉

Good luck making a chainring with an odd number of alternating thick/thin teeth

    I’ll get there yet 😆

From sense I can make of the patent, it only applies to even numbered chainrings, so odd numbers are fair game (rushes to compile odd numbered patent)

I also read once that prime number chainrings reduce wear in the drivetrain… seems SRAM hold the patent to an inferior product.

Surely the best solution would be a basic salary in line with the national average, with potential performance related bonuses only awarded on delivering tangible long term results.

The top 20% of performers can then go into the house of lords as their track record is proven.

As has already been mentioned, this should be their sole revenue stream, none of this multiple directorships and thinly veiled corporate collusion.

The headline in that article is guff~ 44mm headtubes are not standard 1 1/8″ … much as I’d love some engineering magic to fit something where it doesn’t belong (oh matron), fairly basic principles means it ain’t happening.

This is straight from urban dictionary so it must be true… you fools need to get your drink and smoke on:

(Noun) One who has obligations during the week, i.e. job or school etc., but he/she enjoys being belligerently drunk and high all weekend to the extent of passing or blacking out. These people are notorious for staying up until sunrise and wearing the same clothes into the next day. They only qualify if he/she parties on all nights of the weekend – no days off – This requires much will power and obedience to binge drinking and smoking. However these people are not only limited to partying on weekends, weekdays are acceptable too.

After thirty games of beer pong (ruit), smoking six blunts, and getting some skins over the course of the weekend, the sun started to come up early sunday morning and Max established his weekend warrior status.

I did a fair bit of research into this a while back and though I lusted after the light weight of the on-one and superstar stems, apparently they aren’t made for all out carnage… I have a pro frs which does a fine job, or the Funnduro stem is also ready for abuse.

I wonder how much of the news is governed by D notices? Tony Blair apparently has a rich history of D notices…

Strange how no mainstream sources have picked up on Russ Tice, who 1st blew the whistle on the NSA in 2005:

also seems the 9/11 truth movement has some pretty compelling evidence:

because the government educated them that this was the only way to mark success in life.

Very true… current property prices are the key to wage slavery… buy a bus (or boat), pimp it out for modern living and live a life of luxury with change to spare.

Being as there is some spannering involved in swapping the plates, I’d consider either a 36 float or X fusion Vengeance fork with internal travel adjustment~ more reliable and better action than the TALAS.

I broke my ribs being gnar and punctured my lung, which resulted in a significant pneumothorax with a chest drain (well 2 in the end after they muffed the 1st one up)… I was back on the bike within 5 weeks, and the 6th week was spent shredding in the Alps on a hardtail~ I had an appointment with the doctor in the 8th week and he informed me I would now be safe to fly; he looked aghast when I explained I’d flown back from the Alps 2 weeks prior 😆

They’ve already introduced Di2 Alfine… who knows, maybe the dynamo link in is under development…

The next step would be to hack into other people’s gear systems and remotely change their gears for them from across the world.

😆 Thats what the extra government spending on intelligence is going towards~ GCHQ halting cyclists who run red lights 😀

He’s taken his punishment: prison and he still has the balls to stand for what he believes in~ the chummy rah’s have thrown the dummy out cos he spoiled their knee’s up and gained publicity for the movement to expose them gold plating their silver spoons.

I once competed in a rowing race in Cardiff and during training some kids fired rockets (fireworks, not RPGs) across the river and we had to duck for cover… was pretty scary at the time but I look back at it now and laugh.

Anyhow, the bigger picture is that the guy is a dude for sticking it to da man, sign this petition or you are part of the problem, not the solution:

    http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/theresa-may-home-office-stop-the-deportation-of-trenton-oldfield

(if you disagree then at least admit that you are happy to be trampled by the elite and bail out Eton chums forever more… or of course you could assassinate the character of someone who has done something courageous which you are a bit jealous of)

Above all else, the key is to RELAX~

…then focus on concentrating your weight through the pedals and assume ‘tea party fingers’… like grasping fine porcelain.

A great coach taught me this and ever since I’ve suffered alot less arm pump and my hands are soft and dreamy.
