Had a go in the Braunton bowl the other day, forgot how knackering it was too ride a board. Just need to sort out lines and confidence to ride it quicker.

Thanks for the advice guy’s, just intend carving around the bowl not intending to start doing flips and the like. I was unfortunately the only kid to do his ankle in at school on a skateboard, a reputation I’m not that eager to repeat at work.

IMHO with the growing trend of music streaming sites becoming available artists are having to resort to more “imaginative ” means of getting new material across to the public in general, fans will always buy new material, look at all the expanded reissues available. A few years ago Radiohead released In Rainbows on a “pay what you think it’s worth basis”,funnily enough their only album not on Spotify, it’s a gamble that will eventually buy it,or an over inflated ticket to see the show giving them opportunity to play new music to their fans.

As for U2 themselves, they’re a marmite band, even in Ireland – not everyone likes them – get over it and move on, we can’t all be there same otherwise it’ll be a pretty boring life. :?

Quick update, vinegar worked – thanks Drac.

Next stain to be removed turmeric or Indian takeaway residue? We’re off on holiday soon, and just anticipating a worse case scenario.

try and get the bit with the stain horizontal and build a little wall of plasticine around the stain and then you can ‘puddle’ the vinegar on it

That would arose the Mrs’s suspicions when she sees a drawer missing from the unit, suppose I could make a birds nest out of bluetack.

Be interested in other options, but by far the best all round cleaning product I’ve ever used is flash “all purpose’ cleaning fluid. Try some neat, though beetroot juice is the work of the devil.

Only got the Bathroom Cleaner with Fabreze, didn’t touch it, but the kitchen does smell sweeter.

Have you tried vinegar? White so to avoid more stains.

Only got Cyder Vinegar, I’ll give that a go.

Without trying to sound like an old fart – BITD there were a few regional series, SAMS,NEMBA, Midlands, Welsh and you could race virtually every weekend of the summer months. Then organiser’s overheads started creeping up,this was passed on to the competitors and field sizes started dwindling – plus the longer races became more popular. XC has made a bit of a comeback, but not like that seen previously.

Are the SolarStorm batteries/chargers still exploding?

Hilarious. Though sadly I’m reminded that last time I went out to watch it come through here an outrider was killed by an idiot driver ignoring the closures (and the race was neutralised).

Yeah, I can remember that quite well, can remember that we were all getting excited the night before at the thought of the race coming through malvern only for it to be stopped at Newland, quarter of a mile outside Malvern!!

May stroll up to the link to watch it next week.

Ah, So – IMHO the Kate Bush track, the rest of the album is So-So.

I think the lifeguards’ would rather have the occasional bodyboarders in a smaller area where it’s easier to keep an eye on them. Same with the surfers, ok in between the flags isn’t necessarily the best waves, but at least it’s patrolled.

How is the fit on the bib tights?

If the tops are anything to go by generous in comparison to say Endura.

The “T” handle allen keys could be heading my way too.

Thanks for the PSA,I’m in need of some new tights, and if they’re as good as the tops it’s a Brucie Bonus. May treat myself to a new pair of gloves too

As an aside, when they’re covered in mud can you tell if they’re more expensive brand?

I’m also getting confused by all this – we’re not getting involved but are supplying aid/munitions etc, basically backing one side or the other, will we at some point at “war” with the Islamic fundamentalists?

Will Call Me Dave want to be referred to as Call Me Richard the Lionheart at that point?

Why do they always play Whole Lotta Love?

    Think it’s the “current” single.

The bit in the middle is just a **** racket.

It’s just Page and Plant having sex with a theremin.

Why not take the train to Newquay and walk to wherever, then catch the train home?

I only suggest this because you must be getting public transport back to Newquay.

    Scary fact
Next year, 2015…. if Marty went back in time again the same number of years as he does in the first film (30 years)…. he’d travel back to that film’s starting time … 1985 !
So what you mean is that we’ll reach the time he travels to in Part 2…

No, I think the scarier fact is, if you were eighteen when this came out, you’re heading towards fifty!!!!! Fortunately I was twenty one 8)

[quotealthough it was not the Led Zep version that ToTP used:
“CCS are best known for their instrumental version of Led Zeppelin’s 1969 track “Whole Lotta Love”, which got into the UK Singles Chart in 1970,[1] and was used as the theme music for the BBC pop programme Top of the Pops for most of the 1970s, and, in a remixed version, between 1998 and 2003. Technically, the TOTP theme was not by CCS, but was recorded by the TOTP orchestra one morning before the day’s rehearsals. Nevertheless, the band was conducted by John Cameron on that occasion and many of the musicians were CCS regulars. This enabled the production to tailor the tune to the correct duration and, more importantly, avoided the weekly payment of royalties to the record label.”[/quote]

Yeah, I know all about that, but if you’re going to show a programme about the riff why not acknowledge Led Zeppelin?

    jimster01
    Full Member

You’d have thought this would be included

Especially as it was the theme to TOTP
