I tend to find speed is the biggest influencing factor not whether I’m left or right handed – too slow I just fall in on myself and too fast just screw up the whole corner and go into the bush/ditch/tree/over the edge

Never used Squires, always used the chip shop in South Street. I must say I have never been in Southfork bike shop – way too many surf shop to distract me from biking stuff.

Mrs took me there as our first weekend away together – highlight was driving over to Saunton for a surf.

It’s a bit like Bude, we went there twice, the first time it was bad, the second to see if it was really that bad. :?

For Malvern have a look at the trail-guide at the top of the page for an idea too.

Looking for a decent off-road ride (3-6 hours) within easy reach (lets say an hour) of Malvern.

FoD, pop down there and fill yer boots. The Fountain Inn has loads of google-maps available omn-line, you just need to check where they are working atm, IIRC the Lawnmower is one place out-of-bounds.

Has some bad news about the economy been released today showing slightly lower growth than originally forecast and so they create a panic situation with which too boost the economy?

Always lusted after a Fuquay steel frame as tested by Chipps.

If we are talking mass-produced, a 90’s steel Kona.

Do you have to let the energy companies know when you are going to fire that lot up Chipps? :D

Or you could just wait for the BBC to get hold of it and air it…

Yeah, like they did with 24

i don’t want to wait, I want to watch it NOW!!!!! Been waiting 13 months, some of the line are classics.

Example – An episode revolved round the Clay v Lister fight in Madison Square Gardens, Don’s then secretary said “Don’t know what all the fuss is about, if I want to see two negro’s fighting I’ll throw a dollar bill out of the window”

    Buy the boxset?
    Download it illegally?
Or get a friends sky login to watch it on the computer?

It’s series 5, you’ve got 1 – 4 which the BBC have already shown, Murdoch’s bunch decided to outbid the beeb for the final series, tossers!!

Option 3 looks good, anyone fancy lending me their login?

Make sure the Feds get a signed statement off you, one should be through the post in the next couple of days, the statement you gave at the roadside/office isn’t good enough YOU have to complete a witness statement form and sign it away from them.

If there are any witnesses make sure they have their details too. In my case there were no witnesses and the signed statement disappeared was lost in the post.

    Excellent!!

I’d bid a couple of quid, but then spend another 50 driving down there

Have a look on here, we were up in Newtonmore last september and had no-end of riding both natural and trail centre – Wolftrax Laggan just down the road too boot!! :D

Bothy Bikes were in Rothiemurchas (sp?) atm, but I think they’ve moved, someone will be along to guide you shortly.

There was a what looked like a Saab Viggen or wheateevr they use now-a-days playing over the Malverns yesterday afternoon.

    Did make a right racquet.

I’ve been running Tme ATACs for 15 years or so, no real problems.

First lasted 4 or 5 years with no maintenance at all, bearings seized one day just bought a new set.

Looking at Emily Batty’s bike, I wouldn’t like the terrain to get too steep!! 8O

If I were in a position of buying a new bike I would consider one, however I would have to try on my local trails before shelling out any sort of cash, but I can’t see my LBS having a 26er and a 29er in a test fleet with the way money is atm.

It’s a bit like buying sunglasses in February, you know it’ll be a wet summer.

Joking aside is there no way of moving water from Scotland to where it’s required via river/canal network? Especially as Scotland didn’t have a summer last year!!

I enjoyed it, think the agent is majorly screwed up and as with 24 makes me think the US agencies oughtta tighten up their recruitment board.

I hope it doesn’t do a Lost and go up it’s own ar5e.

Women are not rational, full stop!!

They say thing they don’t mean and won’t say what they mean.

Say join a gym, go out for a ride then complain about you being out all the time – when the inevitable happens – never again!!!

    Tough one this –

    Newtonmore – handy for Aviemore/Cair Gorms/Laggan

Llangennith – handy for miles of natural bridle-way and surfing

or Coleford for FoD – but not sure I’d want to be too close with the locals… :?

if you want a quieter route, Bredon Hill is also worth a look too.

Down side to Bredon is it’s the wrong side of Worcester AND it does get very claggy.

Malvern’s your best bet, Wyre will require a local to show you round, Malvern’s not too bad to find good bits without a guide – pee off a local and just say your new in town. :D

Personally I’d do Newtonmore and ride back via Glen Banchor.

As said above, take it easily for a couple of weeks then have a pootle about on the road nothing strenuous and see how you feel and go from there.

I really find it so sad that grown men will put their dogs before their fellow humans.

Everytime because my dog wouldn’t kill in the name of religion.

Really like that, just a pity I didn’t see it in September before we went to Newtonmore.

I’ve never had too much trouble – main thing is timing, if you ride the popular routes during busy periods you are likely to get some comments off uninformed people, although you may have strayed off the right path at the wrong time. Best response I find is – “Okay, thanks for that I’ll bear it in mind for next time.”, don’t get abusive, it’ll just screw your day up and it ain’t worth it.

Too much chance of meeting a grumpy dog walker otherwise.

Forunately my lab just dawdles on the trails, it really pi55es cyclists off. :-)

Anyone who rides the halfpipe trail in the day is mental

Is the halfpipe trail on British Camp hill and what was referred to as the “Toboggan Run”?

32:16 here too, main riding is on the Malverns and can clear most things, and those I can’t why would you want to? :?

Have done Afan and Cwm Carn on it no problem – it’s one of those little battles in life that are fun TBH.

Biggest decision of the day is what to have for lunch?

A cheese and onion on a crusty roll works for me – very tasy cheese and loadsa onions!!

Maybe a Minestrone soup to rehydrate you.

The young lad certainly impressed them, although TBH they weren’t as manic as any other Michelin chef I’ve seen on any other series.
