Aah well, 0.5 kilo the first week, not as good as I’d hope for.

Aiming for an alcohol free weekend this week – last week not good – don’t know if anyone else noticed the witch circling Malvern.

B*gger, forgot to weigh myself this morning – would’ve been bad anyway, In-Laws fortieth anniversary party at weekend, had to have a drink to be able to face it.

Weighed myself yesterday not good – 5ft 10in. and 194lbs would like to loose 26 lbs, but realistically 16 would be nice.

So new regime, smaller portions, no late meals,no chocolate/cakes, and cut right back on the booze – get back into swimming 3 times a week, kettlebell training and hitting the hills every week,.

Why not pop along to the shop and play one see how you get on with it?

    You would a bike.

FWIW – I’d go with the tobaco burst finish.

Too loosen my lower back I tend to do Crossed-Leg raise, a Crossed-Leg twist, pulling my knees into my chest etc etc….

However as already said here, you need to commit to doing it all the time

We’re just getting into Boardwalk Empire, may try and do The Soprano’s with her again afterwards….

Mad Men is always good, if you tire of the storylines there’s always the continuity to pick up on. :D

Went out on mine for the first time in ages – forgot how much fun riding can be.

No gears to worry about, not that I did anyway, but having just one gear builds you resolve to just push harder than you usually do.

Also realised riding rigid for the first time this year that tyre pressure is critical too comfort.

Heart was still racing 3 hours after the ride too.

Used to post over there a far bit 6 or 7 years ago – never seen anyone commit “Forum Suicide” as much as Dylan, there was a lot of goading at the time too.

A pity to see it die, was once a good forum but they changed it too much/often.

This a mountain biking forum, you live in Malvern and are asking about sitting in a sweaty room pedalling on the spot?

The views pleasant in the evening though.

Put your bike in 1st gear and ride the tarmac path from the wyche to the top of the beacon 10 times if you must

Can I borrow your Pompino with funny handlebars Stoner? Get some funny looks off the Purple-rinse brigade then. :D And some of the mountain bikers who refer to Single-Speeds as clown-bikes.

Another Malvern rider here, after 15 minute climb out of the Link and I’m on the hills.

Hardly ever go anywhere else, don’t really see the need, but if I do there’s Wyre Forest or FoD either direction, Hopton just further up north.

Don’t really have any problems with walkers up there – it does get crowded but it’s the same for everyone, the area is more accessible so inevitable really.

Off for a pootle up the Malvern Hills for the first time in months. :D

Not bad considering I live in their shadow. :(

Sorry, not that impressed – the bermed section looks like a Skatepark.

My favourite trail at Afan was Penhyyd, flowy and technical in places, sections such as The Hidden Valley, Sidewinder, Genesis, and Bubble & Squeak all brilliant.

The other trails just lacked it for me I’m afraid – Whites from Glyncorrwyg (sp) being best, The Wall would be better without the 15 minute canal path pootle.

    All IMHO of course.

Pretty much after I first met her, she took some convincing however.

ATM she’s doing my head in, not at all rational to say the least, BUT I wouldn’t be without her.

Any of the gigs in the late 70’s / early 80’s at the Malvern Winter Gardens. Rory Gallagher 1980 springs to mind.

Rumour also has it that Zeppelin practised there for the Knebworth gigs.

I found them good fun, as said previously as hard as you want it to be.

Ladies in lycra was a bonus though.

Especially the blonde in my class. :D

Word of warning, don’t go too hard too fast too soon – 45 minutes at a higher than normal intensity hurts!!

Take water and a towel, and make sure you’re fully hydrated.

    Practise pop-ups and press-ups.

Swimming – swim using a leg float or a drag devise of some description.

Most importantly learn how to duck-dive or eskimo roll if you’re on a longboard.

I’ve just reduced my gym membership down to Swim, from Gym and Swim as I didn’t use the Gym during the summer. Got a Kettlebell at home for strengthwork and swim 2/3 times a week.

May ramp it back up again later in the year, just see how I go on.

Will I be okay to use “Spring water” from one of the many springs on the Malverns for a first brew, or get some cheap water from Morrison’s/Tesco’s?

How eefective is wrapping the fermenting bucket in a duvet a keeping the brew warm enough to ferment?

Hopefully off up the Nags this evening for a couple of pints of Bathams.

We must remember to support our local pubs or there’ll be no where for these local breweries to sell their wears, and to keep the communities going.

Put another couple of hinges in there and it’ll be ideal for putting in yer pack ready for any emergency trailside repairs…..

Trust you be building a stand / rest for the saddle too, nothing worse than a scuffed saddle…. after dirty grips of course. :?

IIRC you have to buy tickets from the club – prevents “away” fans sitting with the “home” fans and causing “troubles” when their “team” score.

Made more difficult if you follow say Arsenal playing at Aston Villa, living in Birmingham trying get Arsenal tickets and they only have a small allocation – chances are they won’t let you have any.

    * Don’t have this problem at a Rugby match.
