When Ted's picking up empty bottles whilst Jack sleeps in the corner, Jack wakes hearing the clinks, and says the vintage.

    Or

    Dougal – Yer bollox Ted.

Ted – Have you been reading Roddy Doyle again?

Dougal – So what if I have yer gobsh*te

    Crap!!

So Golden Brown lies and is generally incompetent, Dave is a firm believer in faith schools and will stir-up whatever through "The Mail" article – plus can't stand the grease ball.

    So any viable alternatives?

    In no particular order –

Yellow Pages with that annoying tune.

    Moonpig

Halifax – stop spending money on poxy ad's and pay me back you b4st*rds!!

    Go Compare

And any for gold – simple put it in the envelope it'll be insured for up to £500, yeah right!! And how the hell are you going to get a refund if you fund a better price within 28 days? They'd have smelted it down as soon as it hits the floor.

If you can get hold of it Pero Original, if not Chappie biscuits, dash of warm water if you want to spoil it.

For when they get the 2 bobs, can of Chappie Original and a bag of cheap mash potato – dries them up really nicely.

So those who ignore police and highway authority advice not to travel should be rewarded?
Obviously if your job is essential it's a bit different

Who's to say that they ignore the advice of the authorities, and use public transport if it's running, or try walking to work? Too many people IMO use the "Don't travel unless it's necessary" as the I'll take another day off excuse and don't lose pay or holiday.

cant ever see that happening, getting an extra day holiday FOR turning up to work!!Follow the dream though my man

I know it's a long shot, but those who make the effort oughta be rewarded, who many folks do we know see a flake of snow and say I can't get in, or I've got child care issues?

Here it seems to be – if you can't get to work don't risk it, no loss of pay or leave.

I live 2 roads from work.

But then if it were offered to me I'd take the extra holiday as compensation. :D

The BOT web maps are next to useless though

If you click on each section of the map it is enlarged, don't know whether that makes it any easier. :?

There are some nice sections of single-track to be had, don't get abusive if someone says you shouldn't be riding up here – you'll get a lot of that. See if you can meet up with a "local", takes the hassle out of it.

Avoid the obvious trails along the ridge and stay lower down at busy periods, the tourists head for the top.

Link's not too bad, just watch out for the purple rinse brigade. Avoid Spring Lane, as usual the Council haven't gritted around here and it just gets packed down. Which is really ironic considering they use it as a cut through.

Any guesses where that piccy (frame grab from head cam video) is?

At the split / stone circle on Beacon Drive where you either drop to West Malvern, Earnslaw Quarry, ride the ridge to Wyche, do the zig-zags or carry on up the Beacon?

I'm unfortunate enough to live 2 streets from work, whereas the rest of them live either on top or have to get up a hill to get to work. Just waiting for the MD to ring in with a condescending "tough living so close to work isn't it" call.

Gonna be a long long day.

I wouldn't put money on it. there have been plenty of similar aged World Champions and if anyone will be fit and raring to go it's Schumi…

Can't think of any 41 year old champions, it'll be interesting to see how he goes on and I realise that he'd only do it if he thought he was in with a shout but I don't think he'll have the edge he did.

How people manage to fill their lives with 2hrs of soaps every night is beyond me.

Mother – in – law manages it quite easily, she is 81, and living on her own, so from that perspective it's quite easy to believe, especially if you met her.

I could quite easily live without the TV, the only thing I watch atm is FlashForward, but as the series / network is on a break I haven't missed it so I can live without it.

    So yeah, telly is rubbish.

Year started off ok then –

Sister-in-law diagnosed with cancer, given 12 months – this within 12 months of her father passing due to cancer.

Aunty has had a big stroke and has contracted pneumonia, but is still hanging on in there.

Me and mrs j have more ups and down than the lift in the Empire State Building after I came across an old diary and I had a peek to see what she thought of me when we first met. Really wished I hadn't of now.

Aunty had a big stroke, contracted pneumonia a couple of weeks ago, waiting the inevitable.

Sister-in-law been through chemo, radiotherapy, now given 12 months. Although we think it's going to be sooner as she seems to have lost the will to fight.

Did once, yes it is busy and yes it'll be a nightmare with a bike because public transport in this country is controlled by accountants and spreadsheets and they want bums on seats not 3 spaces taken up by a bike.

I'm 5ft 9 / 10 (depending on the time of day, with a 32in. inside leg and ride an 18in. On-One In-Bred and it fits fine.

Some days I wish it was smaller but in general it fits fine.

BTW there's no difference in riding style with or without gears – you just learn to conserve the downward momentum for the upwards slog.

As usual it's the old adage – try before you buy.
