Some f**kers have gone and vandalised the start of the latest new section. All of Scott’s hardwork in making the start rockgarden and post entrance has been torn down and chucked off the trail, signs removed from trees – gits. I suppose you have to come to accept that until things are more permanently settled in, things will get broken up from time to time, esp over school holidays.

Probably some member of the Purple Rinse brigade who are vehemently opposed to you doing this sort of thing in their wood.

I usually only ride in the evenings to avoid the dog walkers, and now I live down the southern end of the hills I dont have to worry much at all as long

And what’s up with dog walkers? Bloody conservator’s and dungaree wearing thespians are more of a pain, f******* hippies!!!!

“with alot of tracks being out of bounds” until after dark

Maybe, it’s hard to tell which are legal/cheeky trails when on the hills, one or two exceptions – clearly marked at the beginning, genrerally I find courteous riding doesn’t get anyone upset – if someone gets upset just apologies and eat humble pie.

There’s absolutely no riding to be had in Malvern :D What time are you looking at?

TBH, there’s loads of good riding on the Malverns, but it’s spread over a large / narrow area, with alot of tracks being out of bounds, but protected by the purple-rinse brigade, unfortunately.

jimster – The crane looks like this, a footprint of 16m x 16m, check out the JCB to the right of the photo. I assume that you were joking about a helicopter installation.

I did say install them in sections, or the unforrested section of the hill.

I am in favour of them, but looking at those pics there is alot of unforrested hillside that could have been used.

We have alot of NIMBY’s in this part of the world, the one complaint they have is they intend to instal “Super Turbine” within 1.6km of housing.

The bottom photo shows (I think) quite clearly that we try to be as “keyhole” as possible when installing turbines. However the reality is that the installation cranes are huge and require a massive flat area to lift from.

If that’s keyhole I’d hate to have seen what would happen if you’d just chop it all down wily-nily!! 8O

Why not “lift” them in with a helicopter in sections or put them in the unforested section?

I think once the “season” starts the big boys are just topping up their fitness / recovery – most the training is done over the winter with base level mileage.

If the car’s SORN’d you don’t need insurance as it’s off the road. Put a wheel clamp lock or such like on it to make it unmovable. But as said, if it goes it goes.

Don’t forget to send the tax disc back, you’ll get a refund.

Listening to Radio 4 at lunchtime I had to laugh – Cable was there saying “We’ll catch all these criminals and punish them as seems fit”

The Police are having severe cutbacks, forensics won’t be paid for, govt were talking of scrapping CCTV, Prisons are overflowing/being closed – so what is the actual deterrent?

I am thinking of getting an old steel frame Kona Conder cone or Lava dome for my BF

Can I be your BF?

I’d be inclined to go with an 18inch, I’m 5ft 11 and used to ride a 19inch – as Woodsman said, they had a very compressed main triangle with a long seat tube.

Sweet handling bike, gutted when mine died.

Keep onto the Police, ask the Chief Constable why you haven’t had a TF3, prosecutions for Road Traffic Accidents have to happen within 6 months of the accident.

Were there any witnesses other than yourselves?

IME, I was involved in a similar situation, had a busdriver who couldn’t give the number plate and as I was effectively the only witness. The Police managed to lose the 2 TF3s submitted so dropped the case – after the driver admitted he was driving the car.

Most importantly don’t get ranty with them, they’ll just drag their heels and so you were abusive towards them.

Bought MBR a couple of weeks ago, *hangs head in shame* and was quite pleasantly surprised, the format seemed to have changed and quite surprisingly Specialized was beaten by 4 of the 5 bikes it was up against!! 8O

Funny how the Beeb losing F1 is having such an effect on everyone.

I personally would love to see my national team playing the Aussie’s in the Rugby Union Autumn internationals, but guess what they’re on Sky, the same goes for the cricket.

It’s the way of the world people, money talks get over it!!

Again I say – are you not suppossed to be clamping the seatpost?

Can you not just turn the 360 deg clamp 90 deg so that it’s vertical?
