So who negotiates the rate artists get paid by Spotify, the artists or the management team?
I think Spotify is great if I want to hear new arists and as a medium I’m sure it helps them get new music out there along with soundcloud.
Thom Yorke’s gesture of pulling his catalogue is very noble indeed, but be honest Thom the folks who listen to your music will buy it because your the frontman of Radiohead and all your albums are released in 15 formats and they will buy all 15 versions, and Spotify rips off the artist. Maybe they do, if your management team got a better deal for your band would you complain?
