So to update. I checked the hanger with a mech alignment tool. This showed the hanger was as it should. Transition hangers are quite robust. I removed the mech and the jockey  wheels were out of plumb with each other. So I showed the mech my vice and gently straighten the whole cage so the wheels aligned . Refitted the mech and normal service has resumed. The main outer cage had been twisted  taking the inner cage with it. I shall probably buy a new inner in case its been weakened.

    thanks for everyone’s help.

I have a rear alignment tool which I will use tomorrow to check the hanger. I’ll report back.

Have I read that correctly? Your asking in eco mode how will the assistance feel compared to the effort needed to pedal the bike categories listed.

And not how the bikes ride compared to your list.

To be fair I didn’t think the link would post over and be usable. My bad

    No not that Jim.

as mentioned , I asked if anyone else had received it or basically just me.

I wasn’t expecting to justify myself but it is STW

    @BadlyWiredDog

You’ve put into context what I was thinking.  With my other bikes/frames I choose to swap them out because I can afford to or fancy a change. But I couldn’t do that with an E-bike. I would want longevity out of it.

I have a half glass filled attitude to most things  but outlaying 6-7K potentially for a bike that could me big$ to keep it going dose not sit well.  Maybe I’ll wait a while. For context I have a pacemaker fitted and even though I’m quite fit , riding especially through the winter months can be tough so a little bit of help would have been welcomed.

So would you pick the brand of motor over brand of bike?

I would obviously try to get test rides where possible. I have only ridden a Hiabike which a mate lent me and it was great fun just ploughing through / over and down everything.😀

What works has the roofer done? Repairs or full roof replacement. If it just repairs  would a survey be interested. I would get a 2nd opinion form a respected/trusted  local roofer(not checkatrade).

Regards the ducting, some guys just bodge, when 5 minutes more effort makes a job. I see it all the time in my trade. Big money for little effort.

Thanks for the impute. I have ordered a Renthal 1XR 4-Arm 96BCD Chainring 2016 Shimano XTR (M9000) & XT (M8000) fitment. I’m sceptical as to whether it will work. I will report back if it does or doesn’t Renthal ring

I have had Five ten Trailcross GTX since their release. So probably two winters now. The show little to no sign of wear. I original brought my normal size but had to size up by one half size to allow for winter socks. As always with waterproof boots if its biblical make sure your wearing waterproof pants over them as they hold water in as well as they do out. If you have seen them for £100 their a steal.

I would like to know what this item is. I hope it’s expensive, therefore worth the flaming.

I have just swapped to Ride concept shoes. These from Tredz, https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Ride-Concepts-Hellion-Elite-MTB-Shoes_235700.htm   their £48.99 and if you hang around long enough they give you a discount voucher. The sizing seem to be correct and have a spacious toe box. Grip wise their almost on par with 5 ten freerider pros. Plus Quidco

If it was me I would find a local carpenter to come and give you a price. I’m not local to you unfortunately. I’m not doubting your roofer but most roofers I know would do an average job of it.

I have fitted most forms of cladding including cement board and composite. Both on large new build housing estates and one off houses. To give you a idea of cost per m2 more details are needed . Material being used, area to be covered , scaffolds etc.  Fitting cost change if its horizontal or vertical due to nature of trims and setting out. If you have more info I could give you a ball park figure per m2 cost. Cedral for instance is around £60 m2 plus scaffolds if that helps.

To be honest it is diy able, it’s all in the setting out and trims.

    Where are you based?

    I tick both your boxes.

I have ridden with a waist pack for quite a few years now and would only drag a normal pack out for big rides. Since having a pacemaker fitted a year ago last week I have solely ridden with a waist pack. I have a Dakine hotlaps with a 2 litre reservoir. I carry enough to get me out of trouble plus a foil blanket and phone. There are straps to carry pads which can be used for a jacket etc. yes they can move up and down but this is hardly noticeable when you’re riding. As the water reduces there are tabs you can pull which tighten the load and not the waist.
If you need more room for gear look at the Osprey seral 7 they look to have a bigger  carrying capacity.

    I have another question.

I have a stages SB20 smart bike. Do I need to look at a specific gen Apple TV to operate it?
I also run a HRM  so is there enough BT channels for it to work?

Just to confirm , I have a Stages SB20 so will that connect/ work with apple tv??

Dumb question, does the Apple TV  mirror your phone or do you connect the trainer direct to it?

currently using an iPhone with a lightening to HDMI into a 32 “ telly

it would be good to loose the lead

So a quick update. I purchased a new mech hanger from Windwave . I can now align the rear mech correctly using the B tension screw. Once fitted, I checked the high /low stops and index the gears. It now shifts sweetly in both direction. So, thanks guys for all your input.

So I have taken the wheel out and the stopper plate looks correct. Again ignore the dirt.

I’ll investigate further tonight and report back. I’ll check for all the afore mentioned points. Probably user error 😳

I hope these help. I couldn’t get the perfect line of sight of the image with the mech at the bottom of the cassette.

The spur frame has a standard rear hanger ie. Not UDH.
The cable is in the clamp as per shimano’s instructions.
I think as the cage is so far away from the cassette that’s what’s causing the issue. As I increase the B tension the mech moves even further away. Currently it is set with the screw wound right out. Increasing the chain length moves it further away to start with.
I will check the mech is SGS, that’s what I ordered.

Complete XT drivetrain. I have the tool to check the hanger alignment so maybe that’s the next port of cool. The transition mech hangers do look quite robust.

    @rootes
Regards chain length big cog plus chainring plus 6 links. 4 too short mech almost at full reach top of cassette , 8 links to long almost rubbing on itself on bottom of cassette.

I have tried fine indexing but its not helping. It seem to be the middle of the cassette takes effected. Yes all cassette spacers are present and correct.

We was there last weekend after 3 days of riding with lots of climbing. I rounded that corner and my heart sank. Instantly admitted defeat and walked it. So unlike me.
It just looked steep and slippery and with my energy level undoable.

    Superficial,

The implant has been fitted for 6 months now.It was fitted as I have AV block. My main concern was regards impacting it and the damage/ injury it could do to me. I understand the device pretty robust.
I have caught whilst at work ( building trade) and that was enough to make the area sore.

    Qwerty,
I know what you’re saying , where do you stop. However the pacemaker does not have a smooth edges all round plus you can clearly see / feel the cables coming out of it.
Maybe a shoulder brace with padding add may do the trick. The device sits just below the collarbone.

Thats handy to know> Biketart is local to me so I’ll give them a call re stock.
    Cheers
