I like the ass savers mudder mini.

For such a small thing, I was surprised at how well it worked at keeping mud out of my face.

Won’t keep your feet (or legs/torso) dry/mud free though.

We had a baxi back boiler – be glad flames aren’t shooting out the side of it and you’re wondering “what’s that sooty smell?”

To be fair, it was probably close to 25 years old.

Just the £50 this month, still making about 7.5% annually until the big one comes home 🤣

    You have two options,

    1) leave it until Tuesday, be prepared for a crappy day (this would affect my enjoyment of the bank holiday tbh)

    2) deal with it today, but speak to your boss and say that you’ll be taking “holiday” after go live to make up for the inconvenience

I’ve always preferred the front axle holder to the full bike holders- always seemed a bit safer to me as it would have to go catastrophically wrong to lose a bike, rather than just forgetting to do something.

Does mean you have to deal with a dirty wheel inside the car though.

If you don’t mind riding, the route from Waterloo to Kings Cross / Euston is actually pretty straight forward, we did it when we took our bromptons to York

Are you riding this bike or is it in a bag?

Ride / Train to Sutton, get on Thames link, get off at St Pancras, walk over to Kings Cross, get on train to Scotland.

Edit: And in the minute I was talking to Mrs Dubs, 3 others have said the same thing ;P

If you’re backing up certain folders to iCloud, don’t download your shows to one of those folders.

Since I’ve stopped needing to wear suits, which seem to never last, even when you buy two pairs of trews, a lot less.

Something like £500, but I’ve never really counted.

I won’t pay full price though, usually shop in the sales twice a year for anything that needs replacing – the brands I know fit me have horrific RRPs.

Bike clothes don’t count, that’s sporting equipment ;)

Anker – however much capacity you need. I’d probably go 3 or 4 20000mah for some redundancy.

For reference, one of those will keep a garmin & iPhone topped up for 2.5 days*

    * as long as you aren’t playing candy crush for 5 hours straight.

I have some reinforced strapping tape that came in the box with some redshift squidgy grips.

Is a smidge stronger than electrical tape and keeps everything in place.

Another way of looking at it – What is the price of failure?

If you’re on your own then the 0.5% chance of cocking it up and being stuck in the middle of nowhere with a compound fracture isn’t worth it…

London Power (part of Octopus, don’t know if they have the same thing) have a graph of your next 12 months projections.

They want me to up by £10 a month, I can see the projection puts me in debit with them (slightly) for March through May, then in credit until next January so I think I’ll stick with what we’re on now.

Evolution (Costa Teguise) give you a spare tube, pump and a multi tool attached to the bike if I recall correctly.

Would be surprised if the other hire places didn’t do similar.

Edit: if you’re on Zwift, the Gran Fondo training plan is not too onerous (weekly time wise), and 8 weeks long.

I believe the OP needs to request a “build room” or “server room”  – that’s where our desktop support guys usually hide out, picking off the easy jobs from the ticket system so they look busy…

My only road bike is Di2, it’s aces.

Commuting, touring, Audax all improved with electronic shifting.

I really don’t like the u-shaped ones, memory foam pillows don’t offer me enough support and inflatable ones make me too hot.

Might try a trtl next time I have to fly a long way in a seat (or ski train) but it doesn’t happen that often these days.

to try and mount it ti kids trailer otherwise will be blocked by it being towed.

I have one on these on my rack – means you can use a seatpost mount on a smaller diameter bit of metal.

Just bought the new fly 6 as mine was suffering a bit of battery crapness after 5 years use.

Jim, how do you find the bike?

Honestly, I don’t ride it much these days as most of my riding is from the door, and I live on the edge of London so my gravel and road bikes get more love.

That said, it is fun to ride and very capable – I’m definitely the limiting factor, not the bike.

I’ve got one of these for popping in the shop on an audax or event – a smidge more robust than a snowboard lock type thing but not much more volume.

It is right next to Bank/Monument station though…

I would hope that the damage is more than made up in council tax or business rates, but I’ve no idea how much those cost for a farmer.

Also, we haven’t published the 2024 calendar yet, but you might coincide with a Sunday ride from the Fridays (I know)

Keep an eye on the website if it’s something you might fancy

    South Bank/Borough – that hasn’t been mentioned:

    The Clink museum
    The Old Operating theatre

    elsewhere…

The Sky Garden is free, and consequently always massive queues when I walk past to by my lunch, there’s a better view from a new spot on Bishopsgate – Horizon22.

I always enjoy the aquarium but I haven’t been for ages and I don’t think I’ve been on a weekend, so it might be horrifically busy.

Did Edinburgh to London as a week long tour a couple of years ago. Wasn’t a particularly direct route (we aimed for big-ish towns at the end of each day) but I can share it if you want.

I’m going to have a crack at LEL next year.
