So I don’t know what exactly causes them to look at years old cases and pay people money

If it’s anything like the banking industry, usually some sort of regulatory investigation and a corrective action…

This is how it starts, and before you know it you’re doing 300-400km a weekend with your audax buddies.

Yeah, 400 last weekend, then Great British Escapade in a couple of weeks (mostly off road) then. 600 next month to complete my Super Randonneur.

Stay away from road bikes kids, they ruin your weekend ;)

Hunt aren’t particularly great at wheels, just marketing.

I think they are probably quite a bit better than when they were just ordering catalogue parts (especially in the top end wheel sets)

Their customer service when things have a problem is pretty decent too.

    For the record:

I’ve kicked the crap out of my Hunt Road & Gravel wheels, and a couple of things have gone wrong with them which they have fixed FOC.

The OEM DT Swiss I had on my Grizl buckled on my first  “proper” ride, but they only have 24 spokes, so what do you expect…

The DT wheels on my FS have been fine though.

I’ve still kept a pair of QR DT Swiss wheels I had the local shop make up for me (the hubs aren’t swappable) – “just in case”

Which set has the nicest decals?

35 clubs using Richmand Park as a “Velodrome”

Count me as *absolutely horrified* that people use a park for recreation.

I need to put a Sunday aside to mess around it.

My experience is from working there around the turn of the century so well out of date, but I suspect these never get old.

    Castle Hill (via the bridge)

    boat trip

Szechenyi Baths – but Gellert is also good.

St Peter’s hand (well the cathedral really)

Things that may not be there anymore…

    Fausto Italian restaurant

    Old Man’s Music Pub

pubs/bars on Listz Ferenc ter (round corner from Oktagon and our old flat)

There are various versions of Tesco’s own – with varying degrees of flavour (mostly based on fat content).

We have to check labels on everything due to Mrs Dubs allergies- just tell me, why does mayonnaise need paprika in it?

Tempted to perfect making our own – it’s not  that difficult

I’d look into something like Revolut that offers virtual cards – not sure if they offer a business account though.

Fair point, *any* chance of rain (or midges) I’ll go tent. If I need to pack a tarp, a tent is probably just easier.

I have got an Aeronaut, but have only pitched it in the garden so far. I need an adapter to convert it’s Schrader valve to presto too :)

Yeah the frame edge is always out of focus which is distracting unless you look dead centre,

When you watch the finale it kinda makes more sense

    Spoiler for
the effect is much more pronounced when coming in and out of the old man’s memories

Audax will generally be 100km or 200km.

Usually good routes and a bit of food included at the end for a lot less cash (and a lot less support) than a sportive.

If you’ve done the Dirty 130, a road 160 isn’t going to be hard. keep pedalling, keep snacking and it’ll be done in 8-9 hours :)

I never remember which way round this is, and invariable put a spacer on when one isn’t needed or (like the op) wonder why my lock ring isn’t locking anything…

300mbps-> 950 makes a big difference when you have alien scum to blast 🤣🤣

I have 3 sets of wheels (all hunts) that I can swap in.

I have two superdura 4 seasons, one has 32mm gp5000AW on, one 47mm byways.

32s stay on my road bike unless it’s broken, 47s stay on gravel bike unless it’s on “gnarly” duty when it gets gravel wide carbon rim set with schwalbe ultrabite 50mm.

At the end of a long day, down a steep ish,  tech ish trail, I’d find one useful.

But I can’t justify the cost, I’d buy a fork first.

and the Kuga is not AWD

The “slippery” mode works quite well the times we’ve used it.

It’s not a regular use case for us so we decided to live without it.

Not be in your shortlist, but we have a Kuga PHEV (21 plate) that will easily do your commute on full electric in winter, even though it’s an 11KWh (ish) usable battery.

We looked at the RAV4, but the even the base model seemed a lot of money for what you get and didn’t really like the insides compared to the Ford.

I buckled the G1800s that came on my Grizl pretty quickly.

If you’re north of 90 kgs, I don’t think 24 spoke wheels are appropriate for enthusiastic gravel riding (or maybe I’m just unlucky).

Side thought – might be worth checking TUI etc as they might have direct charter flights that aren’t on Expedia etc?

Yes, you usually need an ESTA (IME, the exception being where the flight number doesn’t change) best to get one even if you don’t need it.

The last time I went through JFK there was no queue at immigration, but anecdote is not data – doesn’t take much to mess up an airport schedule.

I’d avoid a stop if you can.

UK operators appear to have their 5G in the 3-4GHz range, which is above the 2/3/4G ranges and could give 1Gbps in an ideal world.

I suspect the major problem (at least in rural areas) is backbone capacity which I understand to be mostly shared with 4G capacity.

The fabled nirvana of 10Gbps direct to your phone is a long way away

we still have, serviced yearly it’s been running for a lot longer than 25 years

Look after it, and it will probably keep going – from what I recall it’s a pretty simple thing.

Sadly the one we inherited with our house hadn’t been, hence the flames.

Looking on the canon website, that printer hasn’t been supported since ios10.15 (Catalina – released 4 years ago).

I would start by downloading the Catalina driver and seeing if it works (if the os doesn’t auto detect the printer and work it out itself).
