Sacked off work early to spend a bit of time with the family, who are all grumpy and horrible and fighting. I need a rest but i get to go to my other job for the next 4 days as my wife has decided to give up work. I’m tired, grumpy, and well and truly in need of a holiday, but I get to use all my annual leave going to work at my other job. Do I win?

Dammit man! This is the Internet! You can’t just join a conversation, explain your business model and rational for the work that you do in a clear and sensible way! You have to make up “facts”, blame another forum member and add a bit of conspiracy!

“Given they can sit for a few hours then been driven at speed without a warm up they’re very reliable” I can tell you’re in the North East Drac! Don’t think Ive sat for more than 20 minutes in 5 years (i remember when we’d sleep on nights, ambulances were white, all this were fields etc etc!)

It’s very much an urban 4×4 rather than an off roarer. Good in snow and speed bumps bumps, had a few off road jaunts, it copes but it’s no forester!

Haldex 4×4, higher ride height, some plastic wheel arch trim and a nice badge.

As with drac I’ve used the diesel version from 58 plate onwards to latest ones for emergency driving and find them very good. Also very good to crash, sturdy, well built and stay together when you get t-boned by a truck. Only
Negative I can think of is some people don’t get on with the seats, but I never had a problem!

Rachel Reeves is a true MP…. No interest in her constituency unless there is a camera there, tried to paint west Leeds as a hotbed of racial tension and rioting, Good on a national level, but given the choice I woulndt vote for her. (the choice in west leeds is rachel reeves, assorted racists, a grey conservative and a wild hippy).

New labour was the answer to thatcherism that died out with major, there were some good times but money ran out . Cameron came along, new labour became increasingly irrelevant. the “old labour” with stronger socialist and union links gained support as an alternative to the centre right, particularly with disenfranchised younger people. new labour and conservatives don’t like this. Jeremy Corbyn is a bit surprised by it all and doesn’t know wether to become more moderate to improve electability with the general electorate or whether to become more leftist to appease the grass roots support, therefore does nothing while everyone else fights. lib dems move into cupboard under the stairs.

Partly a lack of role models, but also, from a singing point of view, men often have quite a bland, middle range, meaning they can hold a tune without too much talent, and its less noticable when they can’t sing well (see every indie band ever). Women, with a higher range, basically sound terrible unless they can actually sing quite well, or have lower voices. combines with a less showy off nature means less women in bands.

£6 key? Lift up handle? Anyone with a drill could be through that in seconds, better off using duct tape and sticks

My trombone is held together with superglue… holds well. for a proper solder job you’ll likely have to send it away to a specialist, its a bit more complex than plumbing (though not much more if you don’t care about the finish!)

Playing catch with my 3 year old. I throw to him, he catches it, throws it back and I fumble and drop it. He still wears a nappy, but is already a better athlete than I ever was!

The trouble with old threads… I’ve opined twice! At least my opinion hasn’t changed on it! (I thought the guy with the patriot/456/p7 sounded like a thoroughly upstanding type of chap!)

If you’re in Leeds I’ve got one you could try/buy. As above, its heavy, but feels lighter. I am from a 456 and its a noticaby nicer ride

They all rust. Heavy on clutches, injector hoses split for fun and spray a fine mist of diesel over the engine, this rarely causes fire. Engine good for 300k easily.

Sold a 2006 renault laguna estate boot cover on ebay. 99p start, collection from Leeds. left over after we scrapped the hateful thing, but migh be handy if yours is broken and I’d rather it go to someone who needs it than bin it. Winning bidder paid £7.

buyer: wants it posting to Ayr.
Suggested i was not interested in posting it, but he insists he can arrange a courier.
buyer: Will I be in between 9-12 during the week? No, but I’ll leave it by the door.
buyer: will it be safe? Not sure what the balckmarket in 2006 laguna parcel shelfs is like, but for £7 I’ll take the risk.
thing doesn’t move for a week, buyer has given courier the wrong address. finally the parcel shelf gets collected, i get negative feedback for not putting it in a box with bubble wrap instead opting for a few bin bags and some taoe (for free as it was collection only). Idiot.

so the handle is not engaging the locks when lifted and now wont dissengage? I’d suggest that where the handle joins the squared peg has rounded (though this would make it loose?) or the mech isnt lined up and has jammed a bit. either way you need to get the handle off and see whats going on. try moving the whole door whilst lowering the handle a bit?

My 2004 Seat had a tape player. I suspect in a Porsche you have to pay extra to spec a decent sound system, I’d prefer just to listen to the engine!

I remember being 17, smoking a cigarette, not being allowed to buy cigarette branded shirts as I was under 18. But anyway, yeah, there’s always a reason to serve someone, but it takes time and effort to establish, evidence and corroborate. Easiest is to say no and move on.

Some are great, some are shocking walts. All are better than nothing, so well done for getting out there and doing something. Sometimes crews won’t appreciate you and that’s not very nice, but some
People are just a bit like that. Volunteering to be there on someone’s worst day is quite a big thing and sometimes “the professionals” forget that.

I grew up in a cat house, constantly stinking of cat spray/ wee, covered in fluff, stepping on vomit etc. Moved to uni and vowed never to have cats again. 15 years later we have 3 cats, everything stinks, I spend a fortune on food/ vets and get nothing in return except A2M interactions at 4am.
