Have you guys tried complaining to On-One? This is not great feedback.

Been said already but a Singular Peregrine:

To be fair, the washing instructions with the jacket did say to use liquid detergent with regular washing (at least my Wiggle eVent jacket did).

Singular Pegasus if you can find one second hand or persuade Sam to get more made

If you are reading, Sam, any plans for any more?

You could try one of these.

I found the shoulders of the fork interfered with the tool though when I tried to use one.

The boring 5 miles on a road or canal towpath I have to ride to get to anything vaguely interesting.

I try to tell myself “its all riding and its all good’ but it isn’t.

(nothing against riding on the road…on a road bike)

Si – what is the BB height on the Ti Holeshot? Your site says “/15” but I have no idea what that means!

sounds like the blur then! I was just wondering why people go on about head angles and other bits of geometry so much in reviews etc!

    Filling space 😉

If you have ridden them both on the sorts of trails you are likely to be riding on in the future, just get the one you liked best. The rest of it is irrelevant tbh.

Arch on Pro2 here. Nice wheelset and no need to go up to Flows unless you are riding really rocky trails IMO.

I like them. I’ve bashed rocks/roots quite a lot (low BB on my bike) and ripped out a couple of pins but the pedals themselves haven’t broken. As and when they die I will probably try a thinner pedal e.g. Superstars.

I’ve got a Pucky LR1 going spare (as above) in good condition. £30 + postage if you are interested. They are a Mumsnet “Best Buy” don’t you know 😉

cynic-al – do you ride the hoods off-road? I wouldn’t even contemplate it on my Midges.

    jfeb

Its a shame that no one has experience of both as I am looking to change from Midges to either of these because I find Midges a tiny bit short in the drops. You should consider Midges – if your hands aren’t particularly large you should find them fine.

Chaps. Those with Woodchipper bars (other than Sanny who has already answered), are you running 42 or 46cm width bars please?

An old On-One Twelfty post I used to have had the same ovalised cross-section that Thomsons have, although I have no idea if there are as strong. Might be worth a try as they were cheap as chips.

Just for the hell of it…my slightly-less-ugly drop bar 29er

Stoner – you are not wrong, that is one ugly set up, but I bet it is fun. Bite the bullet and get yourself a Gryphon 🙂

Ideally you need a drop-specific frame, which will have a shorter top tube. If you fancy trying out it on your Inbred anyway you want a very high-rise stem, and even then it may feel to stretched out and too low. Be prepared for an ugly set up!

I love riding on drops, just for something different, but I have a flat-bar’ed bike as well. I don’t’ think I would have drops on my only bike tbh.

tlr – how have you found the cuffs on the Endo?

    jfeb

As far as my research goes, there isn’t a single eVent jacket on the market with pitzips, so if they are a must you need to look at other waterproofing systems.

I guess I’m asking what disc specific road/narrow 29er rim?

Why do they need to be disc-specific? Surely any good CX 700cc rim will serve your purposes? A braking surface on the rim is immaterial, isn’t it?

Only if you would notice that your saddle is 2mm lower than usual!

Scandals are pretty compliant frames. I suspect you wouldn’t find a ti frame much more “comfortable”.

I have 32-18 on my bog-standard Singular Gryphon. Weight – no idea but not light.

Thread hijack – For those who are regularly changing ratios, do you just add and remove links to the chain or can an EBB take up the slack of changing from, say, 32-18 to 32-20?

I can’t imagine it would be a good thing. It would steepen the head angle and give you mismatched suspension travel – less at front than rear.

I have managed to keep the love of both my niche-tastic rigid, drop bar, singlespeed 29er and my Blur 4X. I love the fact they are so different. I can’t imagine ever not having a 29er now though.
