    Hiya,

Have you looked at the vivaro or Renault trafic there is now a Nissan version with 5 years warranty? I have a mark 3 Renault trafic campervan. I’ve been really impressed with it 11k miles so far no real problems…

Camper van without a doubt. We brought ours a year ago wouldn’t be without it now! Ditched my car purchased a small run around. One saving you can make is avoiding the stereotypical camper vans. Theres a huge choice such as bongos, fords transits, Vauxhall Peugeot’s. I chose a Renault trafic having read the forums and talking to windsurfing buddies…

If Shimano check Cable routing!!!! The pull ratio changes if you don’t route the cable the right way. It is not obvious and confuses people when it happens…

I have a mark 3 Renault trafic camper 38mpg ;) 10k miles and great had three VW’s before. Great cars as they were and wouldn’t want to insult anyone that has purchased one, but i do find the engine better than my 180bhp VW. The Renault had one big plus its bigger as a campervan and cheaper ;)

I have a Renault trafic galvanised and actually well made. Ok they have their faults but easy to rectify. looked at the german contingent vans and looked at the forums and also saw the problems my brother in law had with a nearly new California and decided err no!!! My honest opinion is the German manufacturers are surviving on brand perception…

I have a mint mistral screamer aka 1992 it’s bgreat but you needs lots of wind. My RRD short board sorry have to say better and easier to sail. I did start windsurfing in 1983 but to be honest rose tinted glasses are not always a good thing. Ebay a cheap 90’s classic but keep a modern one in the cupboard.

Have Renault traffic new style. 10k miles not a problem! I saw a comment about being unreliable heaps of junk? Sorry no experience of that to be honest. One note i do have is make sure you lubricate the gear cable linkages they seem to feel like the synchromesh has gone, but it’s just the linkage that needs greasing.

Oh yes love my campervan. I could’ve blown a load of money on a well known one but all my mates are windsurfers and the full galvanising cannot be sniffed at…

    Boardman FS Pro.

Just got one there is nothing close to the spec for the price and lots left over for a dropper post. Tyres are a little weak but not as bad as the reviews suggest.

Kona Precept 130 2017 looks good also for the money.

    Hi All,

I’ve had one for a few weeks actually very impressed with the specification. One note i did have is the tyres aren’t too bad. Where i live we have lots of forestry and lots of the dreaded roots ;) I actually found the continental tyres handled them quite well certainly just as good as maxxis.

The rest of the bike I’ll post more of a review when I’ve ridden it more…

Don’t do ebay too expensive to sell now. In dispute with ebay trying to charge me twice once when sold and now as periodic invoice…

Use a scribe to prise them out from underneath, that’s what i did.
Oh yes remember the bush part that looks cracked is supposed to be like that ;) you can get a service kit for them which supplies new keys for about 11 pounds. The keys do wear and this causes lateral play.

    Hiya,

Being a total cheapskate I’m using an aldi one…;) I’m actually impressed with it I have gore and altura stuff not made as well, or as well thought out. I can’t have been the only one that thought they are good they sold out rapidly after I got mine….

I would say Hope just because you can get spares easily. Note the biggest issue with Hope is that the bearings they supply are devoid of grease for some reason.

Get used to falling off and enjoy getting muddy ;-)

    Learn the basics:

    1. No tree bark then much more slippery
    2. Avoid turning slowly on a root.
    3. Keep speed up
    4. Learn that falling off isn’t so bad
    5. When you climb on rooty ground, learn how to distribute your weight to increase the grip….

The art of falling off, is an art! Learn how to fall to avoid injuries.

    Hiya,

Have lower back problems from MTB’ing a tad bit too much. I found a remedy though I use, USE vybe or shockposts on my bike and now I’m fine. As a subnote I have three bikes all hardtails two 853’s and a titanium. The two 853’s are such so different in terms of stiffness the fisrt is a 2002 rock lobster, love it, it really absorbs bumps and trails. The other a cotic 650b super stiff to a point of ally frames…cotic is by far the fastest easiest to ride fast, but the rock lobster is still my favourite.

The titanium hmm is lovely to ride and just soaks up trails…

So in summary best to find a way of obsorbing the trails. The USE posts, OK are not current flavour of the month, but they work so well. I did try to switch back to fixed post with the cotic and my back problems returned…

    Hiya,

Yes have had one for two months. In general really good and no main issues with it. Initially I found it quirky to use but now love it and the interface. Battery charge in general is lasting 2 weeks no problem.

I do have to say in general at the moment I’m mainly using it as a GPS watch and not using Ant+ sensors with it as all my sensors are bluetooth smart and I haven’t invested in a heart rate bridge sensor. In general though the watch is great for walking and activity tracking the first versions of software had some issues and I did have a problem that one of them stopped GPS but after a full reset I got it all working again.

I love the alarm and music control and the bike function is fine but without the sensors at the moment I’m missing information on my training session, but I do get this through my Cateye smart anyway….

Scary this. My Yeti I traded in on Saturday. On Monday the news really broke….Just remember the systems are developed in some cases by Bosch, Delphi, so it begs the question is it likely the other manufacturers have done it?
