    Hiya,

Cleverly, or not so cleverly. “We got Bre5h1t done” ! Clucking bell that’s nothing to be proud of what total grollocks. You would’ve thought the lurch to the right would be the opposite they should do. Mind you, when all that is left is a bunch of pound shop enoch powell’s, after Blotuses cull it’s not a shock is it ;-) Keep loony Tory’s ;-)

    Hiya,

We too have a stone house. Our damp problem was caused by poor pointing and wrong pointing material. Once I removed the cement pointing and replaced with lime mortar, all was good. I also dug down on one side and fixed drainage and let the walls breathe better it was all fixed.

Oh yes are the walls clad?

    Hiya,

I have one I built you can have for £90. It is an unsual OnOne with a strange Q factor, but it works.

Ping me direct if interested and in North Somerset somewhere or nearby.

    Hiya,

Oh. We have the battle of the sink bowl. My wife puts dirty stuff in the bowl to put in the dishwasher for later. I’m more logical I put the dirty stuff straight into the dishwasher. I don’t like doing things twice…Maddening.

Nothing on in Sunny North Somerset, and we are high up overlooking the Seven Estuary. I haven’t even used the log burner yet…

Not one of them from a state school, all with a background in excess of anything most of us have had. Well I thought this till I saw Kemi Badenoch. Her back ground actually looks reasonable! Heck knows how she honestly got to this point. I mean an Engineer ;-(

My only note is that the Conservative MPs are making the shortlist for the party members then to vote on.  Hardly a reasonable process in the least and even Labour have something more akin to a process that seems vaguely democratic…

    Hey,

Just do it! Get basic gear and air mattresses at least. Watch how far they can crawl, it’s amazing the distance they can do, given the escape incentive ;-) Oh as a piece of advice err go to France, great for camping and a lot drier ;-) We all still go and love it. It kinda made my son who is very active and works in the outdoor technology sector for a very well known manufacturer that I cannot mention.

    Hey,

Another one that Cameron truly fsck’d up by de-regulation. I know the Tory’s cannot be entirely blamed but holy.f, is there anything they didn’t actually fug up. I read yesterday Tugendhat says they need to be taken seriously again, or words to that affect. What a bunch of self serving arseholes that shouldn’t of been allowed to run anything but a tap…

    Hiya,

I also sail or be it not much lately, however in the past I had cause to need one of these:

Every workshop should have one! LoL! It has fished out all manner of things over the years from sea, ponds, cycle frames and cars/vans…

If you want a 5 door 1 litre car. Look at the 2015-2018 twingo super cars, I’ve had one since 2015 brilliant, reliable and if you get the turbo one 90bhp with f-all weight. Plus no road tax currently…

In all of this and the reduction in tax revenues the SNP summed it up perfectly, rejoin the SM and this would solve the majority of the deficit… Instead we are falling down the Tory hole still ;-(

    Hiya,

It seemed obvious to me that Kane shouldn’t have been on the pitch for most of the games. The final game proved that. England just don’t seem to play well with him on the pitch. Next time play to win from the start not the end.

    Hiya,

I have a Nukeproof Digger comp on Shimano GRX and my son a Ribble on Sram Apex. The Shimano at this price point much easier to maintain and fix. I’d probably say save a bit more and maybe go for a Sonder Camino Al GRX it will be money well spent and will be cheaper to run in the long term, to be honest.

    20240604_101004Hiya,

We lost our beloved pebbles just after Christmas. Total blow to us. We thought for a while, if we could live without a furry beast in the family. We had pebbles for fourteen years seeing our son grow from a sprogget to adult. We all loved her so much and the whole family saw felt the same.

Anyway in April we concluded another dog companion was what we needed again.

Meet Edie, known now as Evil Edie, fang, Jekyl and Edie, pest…she’s settling in well

    Will just leave this here.

    https://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/funny-expanding-foam-story-t2879.html

Yeah the lesson to be learnt from this, is treat expanding foam with respect.

Onto the URL above, I worked for the army for a few years. One lad had a 2CV and left his front corner panel window open. His colleagues of sound mind, and virtue, did the honest and decent thing to do, filled the void with packing expanding foam, in the usual packing plastic bag, as not to cause actual damage. Any-hows the scream of anger could be heard across the tank compound, lol.

    Hiya,

Not can of Stout, can of Expanding Foam! Luckily in my workshop. Suffice to say it was an absolute disaster. The foam went everywhere. I was wearing cycle clothes, that had to be junked. luckily I was wearing winter over jacket that had seen better days, my new softshell was protected and the long johns weren’t that expensive. Six months later we are still finding bits of foam attached to stuff. Luckily my sons industrial Sewing machine was under a cover and so too most of the expensive stuff. Funniest part was cycling the next day in a local cafe, someone remarked why I had expanding foam on my crash helmet…

Lesson learned, place expanding foam on bottom shelves.

@quentyn, sorry busy weekend. Follow the guide as above. The springs will be pretty gummed up by now, if they were like mine. I cleaned mine with degreasant and brake disk cleaner. I then reassembled with a combination of light grease and oil to ensure they weren’t overgreased to the point they would gum up again, but more so, to stop the corrosion of the paw spring clips and their internal faces. I then smeared a very light amount of grease on the hub serrations to reduces corrosion there too. Finally assembled but also greasing the plastic seal and aluminium cover too. I’ll probably dissemble again, just before winter. In all of this, what annoyed me the most, is Hope hadn’t assembled the hub with any grease or oil for this part, and because these parts are steel, they corroded and hence stopped working altogther, with a wheel less than a year old…

@quentyn,  remember my advice about the freehub, nothing wrong with the build quality,  it’s the assembly that should worry you. Please regrease lightly, else the freehub will stop locking. After 8 months, mine failed, took it apart, to find a complete lack of grease…

    Hiya,

Bitter experience of these. They are stiff to pull out, but they do. I actually brought a tool to do it in the end.

    https://www.certini.co.uk/bike-maintenance/tools/unior-hub-genie-12-and-15mm–black__84750?currency=GBP&chosenAttribute=UN627272&srsltid=AfmBOoptCkt8Q9kcta9GnAD28YuEWgTM03H0aufGmwSLgtQoyE_hhBCbgXQ

They re expensive but work. Once out and you discover Hope assemble stuff with no grease, then they pull out easier. On that note, check you free wheel on these hubs, mine had no oil or grease inside and got gummed up very quickly with corrosion. I also put a space in whilst I was at it because I found my cassette wasn’t tightening, even though the online guides said you didn’t need one, this is probably why my hub was pretty knackered inside, after only 8 months. Now mine is service how I want it, it runs lovely.

    Hiya,

I worked in defence systems for five years I would advise that you don’t. It will effect you, when you find out what they are used for and what you have done. It had effects on my mental well being and because of what I worked in some friends I lost. Just don’t do it…

    Hiya,

I had one flight to Japan once where the plane hit bad turbulence, and stuff went flying around the cabin. Fortunately the pilot had just turned on fasten seat belts as they must have had some forewarning as someone else mentioned. For the next hour or so the plane was getting tumbled in all directions and people were sick and generally not happy.

Ever since I’ve always had my belt on loosely as they advise anyway…

Good point a constitutional monarchy government. Mind you there’s a plenty of banana republics jealous of the amount of corruption this government gets away with, lol

Can we please have an election this party is turning our country into a joke…Well in fairness since Brex5h1t it was one anyway, it just now looks like a banana republic ;-(

The fact he made that nut job speech from Policy Exchange HQ says it all.

Have a look at their website, it’s basically the current Tory party manifesto.

Exactly the point Policy exchange looks very dangerous, even has the audacity to say it is a registered charity promoting education, more like indoctrination of the stoopid. Almost as bad as the publicly funded ERG…Good grief, as if the are trying to gain credibility.

    Hiya,

I have a few of these and find them good and, good value. I do have a very expensive Damascus steel knife but to be honest I don’t see a major difference in the sharpness of the blade and keeping the edge.

    https://taylors-eye-witness.co.uk/professional-series-5-piece-magnetic-bamboo-knife-block-set-5027.html

I would note important thing to consider and that is how you sharpen them I use a traditional whetstone to keep the edge and sharpen the knives I have about 3 times a year. Quite a useful guide here:

    Hope it helps.

    Hiya,

Just read Sunak’s dramatic speech, wow, what a complete shock…

The reality seems to be sour grapes of losing support in his own party, his rubbish performance… Oh yes, and  actually coming second in a two horse race, that none of us was invited to participate in. Just seems to be a slow death march to tory oblivion…Well one can hope cos I hate the lot of the self serving tossers…

The thing I’d take from this all, is the lack of impact of the right wing news and media is having. People seem to be fact checking what they hear and I’ll happily take the positives from this. In fact the longer rich sunk stays in, the better. So really happy days 😉

All I can say on Rich Sunk, is I seriously hope he loses every PCC election and every council seat, tosser!

I then hope he calls an election whilst moving his stuff to California where it is rumored he is making plans to move to,  in the Summer to join the technologists and work with Elon. i can only hope Elon will soon get bored of the costs of all the flights and helicopter costs, then I hope Rich Sunk, drifts into obscurity.

Meanwhile Blotus sees the light and fugs off to go back to his Homeland takes Fattage with him to join the Turnip team.

You can dream, can’t you! actually I hope they all join the speaking circuit and earn fug all out of it…

If I may say, the benefits are:

    O/Zilch/none/nadder/nout/Nil point

Makes the odd gammon redder in the face mind…

Meanwhile we as tax payer are paying for the Rwanda scheme that could’ve of been solved by the Dublin accord. The Rwanda scheme looking like it will cost 400 million plus the costs per person of around 130K. Also remembering the costs of the money we pay to France:

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/23/uk-funding-french-migrants-small-boat-border-forces

Seems to be n the region of 480-500million (Tory-graph has it at 480, Guardian 500).

Meanwhile my young lad won’t be able to work in the EU nor do what I did for 15 years i.e. 5 years working in Sweden, 10 years in Germany.

So to sum it up, it’s total utter B0ll0ck5. Even the Dutch and Hungarians, Polish, with populist Right wing governments are not as stoopid as some of the UK population.
