I’ve been to both in the last few weeks, for me Singapore. Ok its a bit mire expensive, but it’s older (so more to see) clean (KL is not) and a generally good city. If you can get up to malacca which is geographically near the two: lively place. I can recommend a good hostel too

Great course, good atmosphere.

However to echo many of the others I did get taken out by a speedy boy overtaking in an inappropriate place. I was also pretty appalled to be riding behind a bloke who was being cautious on a rocky section (as Is his right ) only for a speedy boy to buzz up behind us and exclaim ‘oh come on guy’s with no small measure of frustration.

Some advice for others: do as I do, treat ‘on your left’ as a question not an instruction. On several occasions I responded ‘no, you can pass on the right on the next straight’. For the record when I overtook I did pose it as a polite question and said please!

Definately a happy by product of riding, and it depends fully on how much riding im able to get in. although I reckon that since turning 30 if I wasn’t fit by accident I’d be an unhappy gym bunny.

Fit is a funny word, I reckon I’m fitter then the vast majority of the people I meet day to day and I’m happy with my level of fitness as it compares to the people I ride with. The thing is though when I do a race or enduro I’m reminded that fit I us a relative term by all the Lycra boys.

Question is where are all the Lycra boys the rest of the time, do they only emerge from their turbo trainers and road bikes to smash me at races?

I had a cake dlx, basically the 130mm travel version. Capable, good climber, high bottom bracket though, makes it great in some circumstance, but not as assured as my low bottom bracketed bikes at times. If you’re the right sort of rider, it can be the right bike. I enjoyed mine.
