    Yep
Clash of Clans level 9TH and Boom Beach level 16HQ

Starting to get a bit slow to upgrade but in a clan with constant wars so keeps it interesting.
Nice diversion for ten minutes a day :-)

I ordered some hope brakes from them after a post on STW regarding a discount on hope wheels.

Excellent price with the discount and took about a 5-6 days for delivery including the weekend.

    All good from my perspective.

The Wyre Forest is predominantly xc tracks and easy fireroads and generally suffers from damp conditions.

Have you tried the Ribbesford DH stuff only a 15-20 min ride from the visitors centre, the guy’s have put loads of work on building stuff over the last 12 months and there are trails for all levels of experience and plenty of jumps, plus strangley it stays quite dry.

Hope that linkage is winter Wyre friendly :-) Looks very nice.

Thanks. How do you get on with the inserts? Do they rub on the front lenses?

The inserts have a couple of benefits over direct glazing –

    1. Cost, initial glazing and prescription updates and the ability for a lab with standard edging equipment to glaze.

    2. Interchangable lenses for diffrent conditions, I have transition lenses glazed to an Oakley frame but they are only usable in certain conditions.

Mine have rubbed on the clear lenses I used for winter riding giving a small opaque 3.0 mm area after 4-5 years of use.

The rubbing is on the lower outboard egde of the rx insert, why it rubs may depend on the rx/base curve of the lenses fitted to the insert and how much the insert is bowed relative to the curve of the main frame lens.

They do a rimless rx insert now which may help to reduce this issue.

    Hope this helps

This ^ – used to be able to make all sorts of custom wrap stuff for Oakleys but moved out of the industry.

Also went went with the Rudy Project Zyons and Noyz with the rx insert, you can get a variety of lens colours and coating for different riding conditions including photochromic and polarised.

Most cost effective and versatile option I have found to date.

Whilst having a look at the links I noticed a blog that seemed to be asking for donations for medical treatment to resolve health issues after a collision with a cyclist.

I used a TSG p pot helmet I bought for biking but never use last yearfor boarding, I looked a bit special but that type of helmet doesn’t suit me.
I found it perfectly warm and it did the job when I fell over backwards catching an edge on some ice.

Yes since 2003, I have some retro stuff with “normal” gears but never ride them.
Running 3 Rohloffs, an Alfine 11 and an Alfine 8, would really like a Pinion 18 but just can’t justify the cost presently, especially since dropping 26″ option as standard.

I am a big fan of IGH.

Walk away now, probably the most expensive addictive hobbie I have ever had, makes high end mountain bikes look cheap :-)

Although if you can keep it sensible probably the best non sport activity for a father and son to be involved in.

    Enjoy

I had a similiar situation last year when a gentleman blocked our progress by standing in the middle of the path with an outstretched hand despite riding at walking pace, on a grass verge a couple of feet from the main path.

So we stopped to see what was up and he was quite pleasant in his approach.
Apparrantly he had just been buzzed by a cyclist traveling quite fast (we had seen the guy and he was going at quite a pace)
So we had the usual where is your bell, permit, you shouldn’t be on a footpath stuff.

Looked a bit confused when I explained it was a shared use path and part of the national cycle route network and them slightly apologetic as I pointed out the red and blue cycle route sign on a post a few feet away.

However the issue was created by the guy on the bike travelling too fast in a busy, inner town part of the route, conversley we had encountered a number of inconsiderate pedestrians, dog walker, anglers etc deliberatly blocking the canal path over the ride, also very considerate and nice folk from the same groups of users.

So as per usual, there are people with a crap attitude everywhere, ignore them where possible. ?

Viro-sol, a citrus degreaser which I use as general bike cleaner like muc off, diluted about 10:1 in a spray bottle and also used in a small ultrasonic bath for small part cleaning.

We did Saalbach a few yers back and really enjoyed it, if fact probally on reflection one of the best days on a bike I’ve had.
Second day there we decided to do the big 5 as the hotel had put on a guide day and we thought it was a great way to get our bearing in the area.
As mentioned it’s a full day and despite the chair lifts requires a bit of pedalling.
We started out with about a group a group of 25 from the hotel in Hinterglem of mixed nationalities and bikes and went clockwise towards Leogang.
The guys on DH bikes were really struggling to the point where we knew we wouldn’t get round in time to catch the last chair lift, so our group of 5 split away from the main group to push ahead.
However this did mean we got lost a couple of times and meant we had trouble tracking down the little chairlift at the bottom end of the valley and found ourselves riding through underground car parks which felt weird.
    Things to remember –
You only get one run on the lift out of Leogang on your day pass.
Do stop for a beer and enjoy the views but just the one :-) ok maybe two.
Big powerful brakes ftw, I got more fatigued from trying to slow down than from pedalling and I really don’t like pedalling uphill.
Damp grass is like glass when it’s on a steep hill, locking a wheel means accelerated, very unexpected.
Wear sunscreen for the slow bits and pads for the quick bits.
Take and drink plently of fluids as you feel it towards the end of a long day.
The trail from the station on the top left of the valley back into Hinterglem is awsome, went back a couple of times later in the week to ride this one.

    Enjoy

Yea looks the same price as on the Extra price list, so probably cost per side.
Intense dropouts can be crazy prices, got a spare drive side 135 mm off eBay a fews years ago for a Slope Style and felt pleased to get it for £30+.

Not sure if this price is for a pair or a single dropout.

The ASR 5 I believe is tapered, my ASR C is a straight 1 1/8 head tube and I use a hope headset.

Presently running a RS Revelation with 150 mm and lockout, not my first choice (preferred a Fox Talas) but forks with 1 1/8 steerer’s are getting thin on the ground.

    jes

I did the same, very pleased with it so far

Headset = 1 1/8 – mine needed a bit of work to stop the steerer binding.
Bottom bracket = Press fit 41 mm (89.5/92 ?)- I got this to fit RF 24 mm spindle cranks
    Seat post (30.9?) = Yes
Seat post collar (34.9?)= Comes with a Salsa (35.0) but a 34.9 fits

My rear screw is about 3-5 mm more proud than the front, as above will depend on your seat tube angle.

If you have it started on the spline and about half way along the splined section then yes this is normal.
