I go to the Hove Beer festival every year – darn south.
Think we are talking £3.60- £4.00 a pint.
Option to buy halves aswell.
Seems a bit pricy, but you pay in tokens you have pre-bought so not real money.
Make sure the beer is good, and there of loads of big hairy men to add the feeling of a beer festival.
Oh and pub games. Skittles/ Shove h'penny and the like.
maybe a folk band – not too loud though.

When you get to the pave, grind a huge gear and just float on the saddle.
Looks good for about a minute until you collapse.
Oh and you have to ride an old steel bike.
You can borrow my merckx if you are very good…
Get some big fit mates to hide behind for the first 100km.
Nice and flat, but can be proper windy.
Then you hit the cobbles and it is survival of the fittest.
Great weekend – enjoy.

As a comment here.
I am running 9 speed campag shifers, with a 9 speed shimano wheel and casette.
Just had a week in the alps – works perfectly.
Investigated this as wanted one GOOD set of wheels for two bikes.
OOoo,
Still going.
My old man used to work in broadcasting and although they used top kit, would always wire speakers with standard two core mains wiring.
Still got the LS3/5a that he made..
Few comments there.
Is there a company that will buy your CD's and rip them for you at high quality, so you get a hard drive in return.
Must be surely.
I hate cycle computers..
Ok hate is a strong word – just never seen the point EXCEPT when stage racing, had one fitted for the transalps I have done.
