Sorry to hear about your loss.

How about the dark suit, but bright tie or pocket square?

This could be the sneakiest way every of building up some interest in a for sale advert on the main forum

Unfortunately I’m not that clever :|

Now we all know you’ve got a dented bike and you have probably lost a few hundred quid off a sale when you absolutely didn’t have to.

I’m not too worried about who on here knows it’s got a very small dent in it, although I’ve used the free classifieds this isn’t somewhere I’m really expecting to find a buyer for a DH bike, besides most people would expect this type of minor damage to a 5 year old DH bike.

I get the point that I’m probably being a mug etc, but I did advertise as dent free and apparently its not so I’ll stand by it. Other than a bit of a nuisance I’ve not really lost anything as I’m confident I’ll find a different buyer (with a slightly edited advert) who’ll pay the same money (provided the bike is as I sold it which I’ll check thoroughly).

I don’t think the buyer is trying to scam me or anything, but his expectations are far too high as he wants a new bike for a second hand price!

    OP you are too soft

    Probably

Is the dent the big scratch by the A on the downtube? Looks pretty clear on the pic let alone a casual inspection. Rather than dent…. Deep scratch?

That’s the one, but “on closer inspection it is actually dented”, I’ll have a proper look once I get it back and will see if I can get a photo of it!

Yes I think you are in the right re the sale. I would still give him his money back. Because it’s the nice thing to do

Balls to it, I’m too soft and my conscious has got the better of me, so I’ve agreed to take it back, however I’ve now edited the adverts to get rid of the ‘no dents’ line.

I best get a good spot in heaven/Shangri-la/valhalla etc

I sold it yesterday and the price dropped significantly from the original toe in the water/ overly optimistic asking price

I think it depends on the type of business conference, an engineering conference will attract a totally different type of geek clientele to a finance management conference. Following all the hysteria about the 5p carrier bag charge, how about a bag for life?

If riding Swinley Forest at night just be careful to avoid the ‘Beast of Bracknell’ – legend has it that she’s a slimy creature possessing a vicious strength, roaming the woods searching for physical love with any poor unsuspecting riders that cross her path (another theory is that we once saw a mates ex in the woods and made-up the rest)!!

will they dig it out or just fence it off?

I know that doesn’t help you, but it will in future.

No, that does help as I’ve not sold the bike yet! Thanks

I’m pretty good at applying bandages. I’ve been bandaged up by nurses etc and they tend to get baggy around joints and work loose, but when I do it myself they usually stay in place and are less annoying (I’m currently sat in the office with bandages covering the oozing road rash on my ankle and elbow)!

yes, hedge pron. what ever happened to that. I remember finding my first bongo bush on Prestwick golf course as a youngster. Never see it any more. Is this due to all pron now living on the interweb?

I blame the rise of recycling!

This really boils my piss too, sometimes I think it would be better if the signs don’t indicate which lane will close so people don’t know which one to queue in!

I tend to buy race fit stuff, but in the bigger sizes so it is a little more relaxed fit, but long enough.

EDIT: Big n tall, please can you email me if you still have an endura FS260 top available (email in profile).

I tried google, but I’m sceptical as I can’t find where those numbers are coming from, it seems like someone has said it online somewhere and enough people have repeated it without checking that it’s now ‘fact’.

Any thoughts on an outside chin-up bar?

Having had a few recent issues with gels, where I’ve ended up covered in a nasty sticky mess that mats in my leg hair and looks like an unfortunate bodily fluid on the front of my shorts, I now use clif bar shot bloks which I find far easier to eat on the bike.

I’ve discounted the ones that mount in doorways as we’ve only got one doorway downstairs and its right in the corner and under the stairs so I don’t think it would be a good place (if i can get something that doesn’t overhang sideways too far) and don’t think I could use one upstairs as we have silly little windows above the doors, plus I’d much rather excersise outside (even when its cold and shitty!)

    Edit:

But how is that foxy next door neighbour going to be able to admire your ripped torso if you’re indoors?

unfortunately we’ve no foxy neighbours and they cannot see the side of the house anyway!

Oxford is a horrible place to drive at the best of times and gets even worse during rush-hour (we live 20mins away, yet it takes my wife over an hour to drive there in the morning!). I’d look at the train if possible as the park & ride busses will be stuck in traffic at some point too!

EDIT: Banbury has a relatively new multi-storey car park so shouldn’t be too bad for parking.
