As others say, wear what you find comfortable. As I’m now riding far more road than mountainbike I find myself more and more comfortable in bib-shorts and full lycra – I’m still not sure how that happened

I’ve nothing useful to add, but I’m glad to see your doing OK and have kept away from Coldplay. Here’s a bit of late 90’s American punk:

I can see the image on my phone, but not work laptop. If using Google Chrome have you tried right clicking on the image and selecting ‘search Google for image’?

I bet if there’s 4 or more it would be cheaper than hotels.

Possibly, if you can get a friend to do it for free, but I don’t know anyone willing to spend 9/10 days slowly driving the length of the country waiting around for hours on end (I imagine it would be a very boring undertaking and not worth using a weeks worth of holiday for!).

do you really need the support?

Possibly not, but it would be nice to have someone deal with the logistics (and sort any headaches for me) and by not carrying luggage I can do it a little quicker!

Cheers both, but I’m not sure I fancy the ‘crowds’. Can anyone recommend anything slightly smaller?

Why can’t you eat when you get there?

D’oh, Why didn’t I think of that

What do you normally have for breakfast?

The issue I’m worried about is waking up and eating straight away, I’m usually awake for at least an hour before I get around to breakfast (after sorting out my son and the dog or just driving to the office!)

I wear goggles on the DH bike (while wearing a full face helmet) and find they fog up when stationary, but clear quickly when moving, I think it also helps that I take them off when not riding (during uplift/pushing up/sat on ski lift).

I’ve used Oakleys and 100% and both are great, but the Oakleys fit into my helmet better (the 100% are available to buy [/url] if anyone’s interested!)

I used to use those with my Shimano’s, not been able to find anything for my new Hope’s though

Hopes are far easier to push back with a screwdriver (without having to remove pads) without risking damage, so not as important IMO

You can almost smell ’em just looking at the pictures

I wish it was only imaginary smell emanating from the direction of the soggy dog in the corner!

You have no duty under the CDM Regs.

While that was true for CDM2007, the 2015 update removed the exemption for domestic Clients (although strangely domestic clients can delegate their duties to others and there is an implication that this will be done unless otherwise stated). Either way the HSE aren’t going to be fussed by one old codger chucking bricks!

I’ll do my usual thing of telling everyone I want to hit it so when we get there I have to do it in order not to look like a total tit!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does that

Why not just use a proper bike now?

I don’t think he’s ready yet as he’s only just starting out with trying to balance (as opposed to just walking the bike), and is no where near what BearBack described.

Once again the challenge was a total waste of time as it lacked any car journalism, other than a single line about the cars/bikes at the start, there was no information about what it’s like to buy or run a (relatively) old and cheap luxury car/bike. I find EJ uncomfatble to watch and SS can drive, but is shite at presenting (they’d have been better off giving SS the stig’s job)

My 3 year old (with help from my wife) bought me some Lego Duplo. My wife buys Father’s Day presents that my son and I will play with together (last year it was Brio track), as a result we spent most of the afternoon building stuff (including a tower taller than the 3 year old)

Refreshingly, it doesn’t seem to be quite as dumbed down as usual Sunday evening BBC

I quite enjoyed the South Africa bit and thought the idea of having extra people involved was good (they helped to dilute CE), but where was the conclusion? We weren’t really given any opinion on any of the three cars tested, at least the old top gear would have an opinion (and at least pretend to give consumer advice), but the new top gear presenters don’t have the motoring journalism background and so forget to give an opinion.

Edit: just re-read it and thought I’d add another ‘opinion’!

I had a call with one of our contractors today about site security and as a bonus the company who supplied site security (inc CCTV) gave them a time lapse video taken from the temp security cameras!

Do you have an existing GIS system which you want to be able to get more value out of? If so your best bet may be to get some specific training on that software. Try contacting the software company and ask if they offer any training.

They don’t fetch much second hand,so maybe people are happy to keep hold of them rather than sell?

I suspect this has hit the nail on the head!

    Not mine, but still amusing:

Child on bus: “Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum….”

Mother of child: “I can’t believe how happy I was the first time you said that”

….Beckton Gasworks which is of course where they filmed…the second half of Full Metal Jacket when it was converted into a look-alike of Hue City

That’s one of our sites, they don’t mention Full Metal Jacket in any of the history blurb :-)
