Although I don't agree with everything thepurist says I do agree that the BBC coverage of the Moto GP is shocking. The commentary is worse than poor and the whole programme comes across as very amateur. I really should watch the races on Eurosport, but don't like having to wait (I know it's only an hour, but I'm inpatient).

I just find cultural stereotyping annoying.

Erm, maybe I'll just judge people based on actually knowing them rather than making prejudiced judgements based purely on their appearance….

    what, like this:

Well they look more fun than a bunch of stuck up snobs from some 'desirable' Middle Class enclave..

If the ladies in question don't give a sh!t what we think, why do you?

I think this is a great example of how all 'extremists' are flipping nuts. I (along with most of the UK ) think both groups are a bunch of thugs looking for a fight and it's just unfortunate that the current economic and political climate has given the trouble makers a voice that appears to be being heard.

As I see it it's a good thing to get more extreme political parties as it'll draw people from the BNP and 'water-down' their individual influence and so (hopefully) won't have any real affect on the bigger picture, but I might be wrong! :?

I wouldn't be too suprised if the lorry driver knew the car was there and had a good laugh later with his mates and then thought he'd got away with it… until now!

what font would you suggest? tried ariel but it seemed to take up a fair bit more space

In my opinion it doesnt matter what font you use as long as its not Times New Roman, I'd use Arial, Calibri or Tahoma, but just pick one you find easy to read and stick with it for the whole doc and your cover letter.

    JEngledow

Don't use times new roman – it's fugly!!

Make sure the layout looks good (well reasonable) and don't cram it in, if you want to save space cut out the waffle and keep the font readable (use 11 -12).

Also only worry about stuff that will / might benefit your potential employer, no one gives a sh1t about your hobbies and / or the fact you like kittens (unless its actually relevant to the role). When reading a CV all that matters is your ability to do the job.

**This is just my opinion, your entitled to disagree, but don't expect me to care!**

Custom tailored – not bespoke there fella. Not quite the same but better than OTP.

My understanding of the term bespoke is that it is made to order, which the suits I've bought have been, while a customed tailored suit would be pre made and altered to fit, if this is wrong please explain the real difference between custom tailored and bespoke.

If you want a cheap(ish) bespoke suit check out A suit that fits
It'll take a few weeks for the suit to be made but is well worth the wait, especially if (like me) your a funny shape.

Thanks for the help. I've looked at the Google Maps period data (thanks portlyone) and this backs-up what fubar said so it looks like I'll be going east (clockwise) and leaving a bit earlier than I was planning and I'll have the traffic announcements on the radio incase there's anything really nasty that I can (try to) avoid.

Don't you just love winding up the sad and lonely men on there:

You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
    You: hi
    Stranger: asl
    You: Say 'hi' first!
    Stranger: hi
    Stranger: asl
You: Say it and mean it
    Stranger: HI r u female
You: I said say it and mean it not SHOUT it
    Stranger: ok
    Stranger: sorry
    Stranger: hi how r u
You: I'm good how are you?
    Stranger: i am good
    Stranger: asl
    You: 26 and Male
    Your conversational partner has disconnected.

Try to lose weight with someone else, that way you'll have a bit of competition and peer pressure (but don't lose weight too quick -set a realistic weekly/monthly goal and try to hit it [not exceed it] and whoever closest wins the weeks incentive!). If you can't find a 'partner in crime' consider something like weight watchers (and ignore anyone who wants to try and take the pi$$) where you'll get support, but more importantly the peer pressure.

    Good luck mate.

its probably more selfish than selfless. If the waste contractor were to get busted for illegal dumping then so would you, whether you knew they were fly tipping it or not.

Does that mean the systems working(ish)?! :?

I work in the construction industry (well what's left of it at the moment) and just the other day I was chatting to a site manager who regularly gets people to follow the waste contractors' vehicles to check that the waste is being taken to where it’s supposed to go and not dumped – this shouldn't have to happen but it is good to see construction companies taking corporate responsibility for their waste :-)

It occurred to me last night that Englands biggest problem is that they are always expected to win everything, since the world cup win they've had the same sort of pressure as the English football team and as such they'll never be 'great' again as there is too much pressure from the media etc and everytime they look like they might be doing well the media will find a way to get into their heads (JT fiasco etc).

Also the Italians played like they really deserve that place in the 6 nations, they're no longer just the 6th team and I'm really looking forward to Italy v Scotland & Italy v Wales.

I don't fancy grinding the crank as I don't really know what I'd be doing and don't fancy getting it wrong.

If I've no other choice I'll get a new crank (which I was planning to do, but not just yet) and put this crank on a different bike (as a triple ring again). Thanks anyhow

    ISCG fitting?

I'm using the ISCG adapter behind the BB.

Quite common to grind the granny ring bits down.

This isn't really an option for me, are there any others?

They've been mentioning newspapers for years, what's the difference ?

Good point, although it is slightly different as they report what is in the newspapers, but actively encourage people to register with and visit the websites to see videoes etc (which could easily be posted on the BBC's own website).

I think I'm just picking holes because Chris Moyles annoys me!

    Edit:

You appear to me lost, here you go:

Not quite, as I'm just asking the question (not that it really matters) and not shouting from the rooftops for the bosses of the BBC to resign and be executed….yet!

I wouldn't try doing Niagara/Toronto and Vancouver on the same trip.

We were thinking about spending a week in Toronto to explore the city and see Niagara and then fly west and spend 2 weeks in the Rockies / BC etc and then fly home from there (or start in Vancouver then retun via torono), is this a reasonable plan or a bit too optimistic?
