That looks really good, I wish it was there while I was at uni, although we already had enough trips to A&E due to some of the jumps in Lordswood!

Due to the high doses of anti-histamines I’m currently taking I’m immune to stingy nettles, which is handy 🙂

Should I now start worrying about the MAMIL with a bike helmet and backpack instead of the tanned gentleman with a backpack?!

You seem to be mid-understanding what a drop-off is, or something is going horribly wrong

The OP stated “or jumps….“, so SOAP posted a pic of a jump!!

If you have more than 2 radios do they work together to cover a wider range or are you pretty much limited to line of sight for all (eg if you had a radio on each side of a hill and one on top would the top radio push a message from one side to the other)?

So was there a reason he found himself hanging from a chairlift or was he just being a dick?

It looks like he was just being a dick, apparently ‘17-year-old Jacob Gutierrez was riding the ski lift at the Ski Santa Fe Resort. He threw a snowball at his friends on the lift in front of him, then lost his balance.

    EDIT: Too slow!

But just looking for pointers on how to stop grazing all bloody day

Rather than stopping the grazing just change what you graze on, instead of buying crisps or biscuits (fatty processed foods) get some fruit and veg and graze away on that!

It’s all about getting quicker or trying different lines. It’s amazing how many subtle differences there are on a single track although these days most uplift locations offer multiple tracks. It’s also surprisingly physically and mentally tiring!

EDIT: book one and see for yourself!

One of these must surely be essential these days:

+1 for the double and table line (in parallel) – a lot of people struggle with the psychology of jumping doubles, but if you can see a direct comparison between the tables you’ve just cleared and a set of doubles then it’ll make the transition easier (in theory)!

Is this the same as riding without a shirt allows you to do really good wheelies (although I’m still not sure whether it’s being shirtless, the tracksuit bottoms, the baseball cap or the big gold chain)!!

Talk like this makes Chris Froome sad

Can I make him cry by suggesting you go as far as taking your feet off the pedals and shouting Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! on the downhills too!!

We stayed in the FOD Forest Holidays Cabin a few years ago and it was really nice, although we were there mid week in December (so a lot cheaper than August and no grotty kids about!!).

Ours is 9months and I read him all sorts, he still doesn’t really listen and I’m fairly sure he doesn’t follow the story, the important thing (I think) is just to read/speak to him/her in a calm and peaceful voice so they can relax and unwind before going to sleep (this doesn’t work at all with ours, but we persevere anyway!!). So to answer your question read him whatever you want to read! (I may be totally wrong though!)

EDIT: starts planning weekend in May for a day/morning on Snowdon and a day uplift at Antur Stiniog.

When they fist crashed the bobsleigh looked like this:

However after a few seconds of sliding down the ice upside-down it looks like this:

At what point do you think they thought ‘I’ll try the brakes’?!

I’d like to think that I’d step in to help, but it would have to depend on the environment, the people involved, time of day, who I’m with etc, etc.

A friend of mine once stepped in to stop a girl being attached by her ‘boyfriend’ and was stabbed in the back of the leg by the girl he was trying to help (although I think this was probably because he was a little heavy handed)!

I was once walking home from the pub and heard a cry for help from a dark street and I had a real moral dilemma as to whether I should do anything, in the end I decided to investigate and found a guy who needed help (he’d recently had an operation and had fallen) so I helped him get home (and felt good for doing what in hindsight was the right thing), but it was pretty scary as it could have easily been a trap to rob me!

Is that just commercial buildings? If a roofer does himself a mischief off my house because he didn’t use PPE etc etc, am I liable in the same way? Just interested.

Under CDM 2007 “Domestic clients are a special case and do not have duties under CDM2007.”, this doesn’t stop the CDM regs applying to all other duty holders (designers and contractors), but does mean that a domestic client isn’t expected to ensure suitable management arrangements etc! So no your not liable for a roofer’s safely!

Although the brown stuff is likely to hit the fan when the HSE eventually get around to publishing the revised CDM201X which looks like it will remove the dispensation for domestic clients in accordance with the EU Directive (and the press scare-mongering causes panic)!!

If I remember rightly (probably not!)CDM doesn’t apply if there’s below a certain number of man hours/days on site either does it?

No, CDM 2007 applies to ALL construction (even for domestic client), but a project is only notifiable (to the HSE vis F10) if there are more than 30 days work or 500 person days and there’s a non-domestic client.

Edit: beaten to it by pictonroad!

The debate isn’t whether climate change is real or not*, but whether it is man made or not and the current floods prove nothing**

*The Earths climate is constantly changing (ice ages as a prime example) and this is fairly well documented and pretty much all scientists agree!

**Although if the religious nutters are right the floods may indicate a much higher homosexual population than I expected in somerset!!

    A cleaner, then?

No not really as he does all sorts of jobs, like setting up the meeting rooms, sorting out lunches, delivering post helping the fleet manager collect/return company cars and general pottering about!

I work from home, which is fairly clean as Mrs E is house proud.

When I go to the office it’s pretty good too, due to a combination of only moving office about 12 months ago and the company employing a guy who’s role includes making sure everything is kept clean and tidy.

    That’s the bugger, cheers.

It does seem to depend a lot on what your house is made of and how far apart the TVs are

I can’t see there being too much of a problem as it’ll be going from one room to the next (with just double internal doors between).
