Cannock is ace, make sure you do the whole monkey coz if you go all the way there for the day and just do the dog you’ll get back to the carpark early and go ‘pffftt wish we’d done the monkey’

or if you want to go back to the station and go round mac forest, when you come down to the chapel go straight on on road and that’ll take you to the corener of the forest where the other track starts that goes over the top, great ride but all fire road really.

yeah was gonna say if you’re go over the car n fiddle why on earth would you want to do it on a road bike? If you’re short of time get the train to mac and ride up through the forest starting the leather smithy arms, take the track upwards, with the pub on your left straight in front and to the left, climb climc climb, after a mile or so of hill take a track through a gate to the left, climb climb climb, stay on main track with no deviations till you come out of the forest to a tarmac road, turn right, when the forest ends there’s another track turning to the right, go down there, awesome bit of downhill, come out at the chapel, go past the chapel in front (off road, on grass and dirt) and prepare for a gnarly bit of stone strewn downhill V steep, when you come out of there, turn left come to a Junction, turn right then climb climb to the cat n fiddle. There’s another bit of off road directly opposite the pub leading over the moor, which is pretty fast. After that there’s load of off road stuff but it would take long!!

something personalised always goes a LONG way. Even if it’s something cheap it shows that you’ve thought about her and tried (& perhaps failed) last year I got egg cups for the all the family with our names on, the year previous to that I got her a leather bookmark with a little ditty on that I wrote and then previous to that some socks with her name & ‘mother of the year’ on – it’s getting harder & harder to come with stuff but all this junk I got off Ebay! Of course I get her other big stuff as well, my mrs is dead easy to buy coz she loves books.

movember is a load of rubbish I reckon. Fair enough the charity is worthwhile but do something challenging, do something hard. Cycle the c2c, do a sky dive or something. Why should I give over money just for growing some hair?

Any must dos in Cannock? Yeh all of it! No seriously do the whole monkey it’s easy & if you’re going there for the day you’ve got enough time.

Catching the train with bike to Macclesfield then cycling back to Stoke. Up round Macc Forest, down that wicked piece of single track from top corner to chapel, down through wildboarclough or might go up n over cat n fiddle, down through leek, along side of rudyard, over the top to pick up the biddulph valley way at congleton, all the way back to Stoke. Should be about 60 miles, not as wild as I prefer my rides but some of it is lots of fun.

for my first anniversary i bought the wife a share certificate with this company who specialise in them and send them out framed. It’s the gift that keeps on giving because as a share holder of a company you get an annual bumpf about how the company is doing and also some of the profits, if just one share it’s like a couple of pence but it’s always a laugh when she gets a cheque every year for 6 pence.

have you considered the mudy fox ‘rebel’ save £20 on it at argos at the moment. – http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3322998.htm
that would leave plenty of money for other things.

the ‘credit score’ these companies offer up on the web is a load of rubbish, no companies that offer credit use that score. All companies that offer credit will have their own credit scoring system based on criteria and their experience of customers. The ‘purpose’ of these companies is to hold info about you and your credit history, if you’ve missed any payments for example which help lenders decide if they want to lend to you. If you’ve been knocked back for credit that’s as a result of the company’s where you’ve applied credit scoring system and not equifax or experian.

wake whenever you do, then ride for the longest possible time, furthest distance, stopping at a pub for a light lunch and an ale or dram.

Guard: [checking his clipboard] We did get a message, yes… “Beep beep beep, oh no heavy, the coins keep coming out, beep beep beep, even the telephone hates me, beep beep beep, I wish there were no machines, and everyone led a pastoral existence, trees and flowers don’t deliberately cool you out and go beep in your ear.”

Neil: Yeah, that’s the message, didn’t you get it?

Take out some redundancy insurance for your mortgage & bills as soon as you can for as much as you can afford with the shortest possible deferrment period. As you long as you haven’t currently been notified that you WILL be made redundant then they will accept you on the policy. Until your line or HR manager actually tells you it’s happening it’s conjecture.

not going for a ride in all that gorgeous sunshine we had on sunday, fog to start clearing to blue skies and sunshine, perfect biking weather. Instead I decorated the downstairs hall & then made sunday roast. :(

i hate it when the head doesn’t connect properly and air just blows out the side, or when you have to hold it straight so that the air goes in.

    awesome fish restaurant.
both kinda pricey but ace food, if cheap and cheerful is what you’re after, there’s a few eaterys in the printworks as well as a nandos. There’s also like 3 pizza huts in manc, pizza buffet is always a winner.

if they were busy say ‘come back in 2 weeks we’re chocka at the mo’ or ‘try this other bike shop down there.’ Saying ‘nahhh find someone else’ is just rude.

If you go straight up the front of skiddaw it’ll only be about 2 miles but will take you and hour and a half or so of pushing. Not sure if tiger meant, up railway track to threlkeld, along the side of blencathra, cross over to skiddaw and down lonscale fell. Then where the carpark is at bottom of skiddaw either turn left and go down latrigg or through the gate at the bottom of the carpark for a cracking run back down to keswick. Have a look at a map if you haven’t been before.
