I’ve used a Chris King with a 24mm adapter running XTR cranks, ok so far 10 rides in just add shimes as you would normally for 68mm and 73mm BB

We rode to a start point sat in the cold , blasted down the run, rode to the next sat in the cold repeated so we had 3 timed runs, :D was actually really great fun, but I didn’t have enough layers on, so shivered . :-)

I did it last year I was in the really old man group was fun, group I was with had mega expensive carbon bling and Enve rims etc plenty of disposable income , was snowing at one point :D , think I came 7th in my group ,,kept catching the guy in front of me, lost loads of time but I was just having fun in the dark, going balls out was great kept me warm. I think my time was 1 minute slower than the fast guys so I was quite slow, especially if you stand on a finish line and count to 60 :D

For bimbling along I like my 29er it flows nicely and seems to make me cover ground quicker and for me it beats me up less, my other bike is a 26″ 160mm and I give that a good go on the more demanding trails it compensates for my lack of ability :D

I had a very wet ride today no squealing, brakes performed fine still powerful when soaked, pulled me up from a flat out DH section without any drama, the rest of the 11 speed XT is working flawlesly smooth shifting etc..

Feel the same to me, i have the 785’s on my other bike both bite well,

maybe slightly less on off on the new ones , only 3 rides on them not really thought about them when riding so probably all good, Ice Tech disks, and they look nice too, smaller clamps look neat.

:D I’m still saving to buy a Stealth post so not drilled it yet , lets not forget its an Orange Alpine so no light weight XC frame its heavier than the filing cabinet it leans against in my garage :-)
I’m not worried about drilling the hole/slot it will be fine I ride like a nonce anyway. It has a standard Reverb at the moment.

If anyone has a Stealth 30.9mm Reverb/right hand for sale let me know :D

new Alpine seems to come out just above shock mount, must go down through BB and up. On mine the BB is solid no holes into the seattube or down tube.

Swing arm off then drill, need to get a new stealth post my old reverb is 5 years old in November still going strong but a bit wobbly :D

P clips hold hoses and cables in place by shock

Horses are animals with a very complicated response to anything , I have 3 max my young horse will pass JCB , Bus etc with out a blink of an eye , but a grid or bin he will make it known its something really scary,
then the next minute he will have his head in said bin, so no real logic, he prefers it when cyclists say something to let us know they are passing etc, he weighs 650Kg so can accidently crush most things without meaning to. We were hit by a Volvo a few years ago, guy started his petrol strimmer horse steps back to look, Volvo coming up the road , I signal to slow down give us a second to compose, he instead boots it straight at us, I kick the horse forwards, volvo just hits his back end knocking us sideways, luckily horse and me are ok, a real t**t . So very small brain with mixed logic in something with no brakes and extremely heavy so anything can happen, so my advice pass carefully :D

I have a medium Tracer 2 and live near llandegla, you can have a sit on it no problem, I run a 35mm stem so might seem shorter than it is, I’m 5′ 9″ , stem can feel short on climbs.
