A trick I use that was shown to me Copydex glue around the bead of the tyre, pumps up so easy, I have had 3 cross marks 2.25 on stans no problem.
just fitted an Ardent and an Advantage using the Copydex worked first go, I have stans flow rims with the stans tubless kit.

2010+ KSi900 has been fine used it 3-4 times a week for about 18 months, a bit slow when its really cold otherwise it has been fine.

Not seen the Santa Cruz TR Carbon that will be expensive, budget would be around £12-1500 for the frame , I’ll have a peak any way :D
I like the slightly slacker feel my 5 is 67, so I guessed around 68 for a XC light trail frame.

Sorry forgot to say it has to be a full sus frame, I really like hard tails and have had quite a few but my back does not hold up well, due to a long standing injury,

thisisnotaspoon I’m not really gnarr and rad , just an old duffer who trundles along and thinks he’s going quick but is really not :D

the Boardman frames/bikes I have seen look pretty good.

I need the taper because the fork I have now is a taper , :-)

nothing wrong with taper on an xc frame, could be more rigid and track better, I’m just after recommendations for a frame, Cheers

2.5 minions fit the rear but tight for mud clearance, I put some clear vinyl over the paint to protect it, Lyric is no problem with a 2.5 Minion.

Reduce your cockpit , sits you up more takes the weight off, I have the same thing if the bike is slightly to long.

McMoab sounds a difficult part of the trail.. I’m not that good for balance so it will be a challenge, :D

Thanks for the info, the Chute looks fun, there is a quarry localy and that has a similar chute, but a tree half way down that you have to avoid :D but you can’t touch the brakes 8O I’m quite excited now…

sBrock, I lost my job a while back so I sold the Nomad to pay the bills,

got another job and bought an Orange Strange 5, the protoype to the

latest 5, nice bike does most things pretty good, but I do miss the

Nomad, it suited me really well, my two most favourite bikes are the

Nomad and I also had a P7 which was fantastic but killed my back :D

Nomad hopefully next year, the new NP Mega looks like a goodone to

    think about.

Santa Cruz Nomad, great all rounder, and can be built up fairly light,

I preferrd mine to the Heckler, climbs better and is quicker to ride,

and not as flexy at the rear, the Alpine 160 felt heavy/ sluggish to me

compared to the Nomad. I have an Orange 5 at the moment , great bike

but the Nomad is better, IMHO. :D

If I had the money I would change back to the Nomad without

    hesitation.

I asked this question a few days ago, I got a mixed response, I have decided to change over from 1 x 9 to 1 x 10,just waiting for a cassette to arrive, then I can tell you more. currently unning 34 up front and a 32-11 out back , I’m changing to 36 up front and 36-11 rear hoping to gain a broader range of gears slightly better for climbing and a taller gear for when you want to get on. :D

Disco Black, mine is Neon Green with white forks and white wheels with a white e-13 you would hate it :D but life would be boring if we wwere all the same, :D

You can buy the full kit of the Orange website, bearings caps and screws,

£14.99, I replaced my bearings yesterday, was nice and straight forward,

the one on the drive side had rusted and fell apart, the other had

seized with rust, less than 18months old, can only think the jet wash

has wrecked them, I do try to avoid them but s**t happens. 8O

I have a set , with a taper steerer, Talas 150 32 Fit RL in white, slight cable rub on the crown, changed to narrower bars which allowed the cable to rub on one ride damn damn, £300 had about 10 rides.

Theres an insert which you have to wiggle past or you push it out, like I did, Saint Cranks on a RaceFace BB, on mine it was a plastic insert, that the shaft of the cranks past through, pushed into the bearing on mine.

454 I’ve had both coil and air and Push’d coil all of them are pretty good, the new Revelations are slightly better .

Well, placed my order for a new 10 speed drive train, for my 1 x 10 set up.

Xt medium cage , XT 11-36 cassette, XT RH shifter, XT chain, and an E-13 36 ring. I think it will give me a better climbing gear and a higher top gear, running 34 front 11-32 rear at the moment. :D
my current chain and cassette are shot.

Both of my daughters where christened, both went to church school followed by catholic school, both now have absolutely no interest in religion, and they are fine.

I have a 5 and have been tempted by the Mega, I run 36’s on my 5 set to 140, would let them out to 160 for the Alps etc, I find the bike is a different ride with a coil shock, I’m not a big fan of the RP23 Boost that comes as standard, mine weighs in around 31.8lb.

I’ve posted a pic before so sorry to bore anyone. :D

I think the mega would also be a great bike, I like the sound of its geometry very gravity orientated nice.and I’m sure a 30lb ish build would be possible.

I’m thinking it will give me benfits in climbing and a higher top speed on the level or fire roads, you can spin out quite quickly with my current set up.

As per twohats Try removing all the other bolts, then see if you can rotate the disc. Its usually enough to loosen the damaged bolt.

I’ve done this a couple of times
