Thanks Bunners, I’m a shorty 5′ 9″ , and live in N.Wales so can’t take you up on your offer, thanks v.much though, I’m looking around for 29er ideas so your info is very good, I’m also looking at the Salsa Spearfish, Niners and a few others , canfield looks good also, I suffer with my back so full sus or carbon back end may be just enough to stop the pain :D

Ha !! I was on Charlies website earlier never spotted the canfield, mind was looking for full sus at the time, £599 is quite expensive to have a dable, looks very nice , demo video is a bit tame.. :D

Yes , according to the bike shop I bought it from when they weighed it,

I had it set up full XTR , RS Revs dual air , Hope Hoops DT4.2’s ,
Easton carbon bars and seat post , Thomson stem, 2.4 Nobby Nics, SDG ti saddle, Ashima rotors , Ti bolts, came in at 29.8lb, my Nomad was only 2.5lb ,more :D but it was a dream to ride only sold it when I was made redundant, I’d still have another.

Had a 2010 KS for 2 years no real problems, also have a Reverb 2011 been ok for 6 months then started playing up , fixed in a few days, but I think the 2012 has been improved, Reverb is still a better post for me.

It seems these days alot of car drivers just don’t give a damn, because you are on a bike, and just drive straight at you, I was clipped by a woman in a 4×4 a couple of weeks back she was turning right in about 50 metres but still decidedto overtake while another car came the other way forcing her into me.

Running PIKes on mine at the moment , while I service my forks they are pretty good and stiff , damping not as good as Fox , but the new Revs must be improved over the Pikes 454’s

+1 for lowering your 36’s , I have both forks 150 32’s and 36’s and the 36’s are so much stiffer and only 3/4lb heavier, 90Kg rider.

When mine started playing up loosing height , my LBS sent it off came back pretty quick fixed and working , modified seals etc… great service.

Thanks guys I have one but its a dual ply Super tacky so not too sure how it will roll shouldn’t be fragile !! :D I was thinking of a 60a compound for ther rear if they do one in a dual ply, and run the tubless on my Flow rims.

Hook worms not come across those , had a quick look quite slick like.

I have a set of small block 8’s perhaps try them first.

Pack solid with water proof grease until it oozes out of every where , then rub off the excess, :D my bike has at least an extra pound of grease :D

I found on my Santa Cruz Chameleon EBB I had to grease every thing well then it all tightened up fine, dry it was loose ish.

36’s straight forward you need some oil for the leg and a pillow of the float lube and spacers takes about 30mins , be careful of the o-ring plenty of oil around it , nipped mine once.

Right hand trigger is the one to get, then put it upside down on the left, below the bars out of harms way, works fine.

Well my frame turned up 48 hours after placing my order with CRC , just in the middle of building it up, bars have just arrived this morning,
I have to say the quality of the finish on the frame is very good, all the BB and head tube faced and finished perfect and the paint work and welds look superb, better than many of my expensive bikes I’ve owned in the past , will post some pics soon as its built.

Yes worse than ever , driving to llandegla a couple of weeks ago , came over the crest of a hill, to find a white Audi with bikes on the back overtaking a horse box and 4 cars up hill I had to slam on to get out of his way, its a narrow country road with farms and bikers , horse riders all over the place plus cars, tractors etc, people are becoming complete morons…its only a couple of miles to the dual carriage way 10 mins tops to wait and then do it safely.

I changed mine for a Orange 5 all the bits fit and the seat post :D

I’ve recently fitted my Pikes to it while I service my 36’s (normally set to 140mm) its slacker than the heckler so in my opinion better on the down hill, my head set is a CK and I have a couple of the bottom bearings one for 1 1/2″ and the other for 1 1/8″ so you can swop and change with ease.

There is only a couple of spaces to park and there is always some prat blocking the road its done but don’t block the road, I ride that way most sundays and it is used by many people walkers and bikers, locally the trail across is called the planks, as it is made up of planks across the marshy ground , try keeping to the single track its becoming a motorway instead of a nice single track, the original trail is to the left the muddy churned up parts are peoples diversions, original trail is hard and stoney more difficult to ride but was not muddy until the new lines came about and now fill the old lines with mud/peat bog.it is a nice ride so enjoy it, if you can make it across without a dab this time of year well done.

sBrock, new 5 with maxle and coil shock 36’s up front is very capable, and tracks through most stuff, I think it is a much stiffer bike than my Heckler was and perhaps more than my Nomad, peeps say the rear end is flexi but mine is not at all feels stiff as hell, 90Kg rider.
to me with a coil shock its a much different bike just like the Heckler is. Just put my old Pikes on while my 36’s are going to be serviced so that will be fun to see how forks have progresssed since I bought the Pikes. Its what I always wanted my heckler to be, :D

Will it need a respray after you have ridden it :D

Wrexham Ind Est, opposite Redwither tower ,can’t remember the name,
…. powder coaters, usually £20-25 for a frame, a year ago.
Best clour to have is whats being done that week or you can wait and chase until they do the colour you want, I usually go black, white or Industrial Blue. :D
