£650 I was told , not sure how accurate that is 😀

SRAM website is confusing seems to be 15mm but then shows 20mm on the 29er pics

I have a Reba 120 on my full sus set to 100 so I could swop it over and fit a Reba 100 on the sus bike. I’m going to see. How much I can get the SantaCruz for Local bike shop sells SC then try and. Find a Cotic dealer.

I’m 5’9″ so a medium frame, and I would swop parts of my Butcher, XT running 1 x 10 with an E-13 , Haven stem and bars, Hope Tech 4 brakes,
probaly would buy 29er Hope Hoops , Reba 120 to go on to which ever frame, so I’m guessing around 27lb with pedals, tyres I’d go with 2.25 Ardent front n rear tubless with Stans, and a reverb seat post 😀

I have a Butcher can’t praise it enough climbs really well a fantastic trail bike a friend of mine has the Nickel and he also rates it highly,
we both had Orange 5’s and both feel the SantaCruz are better bikes, just more bearings . 😀
I bought the Butcher to try my hand at some DH Enduro type races but its not happened and probably won’t , half considering selling it and maybe building up a hardtail 29er more suited to my normal riding.

The Butcher weighs in at 30.55lb on my LBS scales so not too heavy mine has 36’s upfront… 😀 I think you could easily get a Nickel around 28lb.

Float 36’s set to 140 stiff and perform great, I tried a Talas 36 which also worked well set to 130 most of the time then flip them to 160 on any steep techy down hill

Had an official weigh in 25.9lbs so my bathroom scales are out and I’m fatter than I thought 😀

Only had a quick ride round Llandegla so mix of dry trails and wet patches.
First thing that struck me is how normal the bike felt to ride , turned in quick not slow in the slightest, I am running a 50mm Thomson stem and 745 V1 bars so this maybe helping , could feel the longer chainstays not as easy to pop the front end at slower speeds but once upto normal speed front end could be un weighted quite easily, something I will proably just adjust to, never ridden a 29er before so its been a leap of faith…
Rear end with the RP23 Kashima shock felt very plush and much more travel than the 80mm didn’t bother with the pro pedal , climbed the first hill in 8th gear quite comfortably then run most of the rest of the trail in 10th 32 upfront 36-11 rear so may think of getting a 34 upfront, my Butcher is 36 upfront and 36-11 rear so maybe a 34 will be about the same, not sure see how it goes on a proper ride.
The frame felt stiff and no flex when standing up to climb.

The one thing I did feel is the RS Reba’s were perhaps a bit firm and seem to ramp up quite quickly before getting near full travel, they are the RL so maybe need to speak to someone who knows, 20mm maxle felt stiff and thinking about it the front end felt solid and tracked very well. 95Kg in my gear so not a light weight.
Maxxis Ikon tyres felt great plenty of grip seem to rail the corners nicley I was pushing into some of the corners quite hard as my wife txt me she had lost her purse and cards etc which then prompted me to get back ASAP the bike flies , 😀 on all the level parts I was spinning out, the speed carried by the bigger wheels seem to keep the momentum up easier, I felt you have to wind the speed up, were a 26 you stomp and go not sure, need stronger legs probably..
So Overall quite a nice suprise , frame seems to be great value and rides great so far, Hope Hoops have that lovely click and with the Crests seem to be a good weight and certainly didn’t feel flexy, need to find some more challenging trails..
Now how to lose some weight try and get to 25lb, or just lose a pound of my body 😀

Stato yes front end is much too high, will be going out with a few spacers in my pocket I think it will end up slammed down with a 5mm spacer, feels very nice round my yard 😀
I may move up at the front ring to a 34 if it seems to spin out, most of my rides seem to be uphill where I live in N.Wales 😀

Its taken nearly 6 months from ordering the frame, and collecting the parts to finally getting it finished happy days, cant wait to hit the trails on it.
    running it 1 x 10 36-11 out back and a 32 up front.

Drive train mainly XTR 980 , Hope Hoops with Crests, Maxxis Ikons

    running tubless, bars are V1 745’s 😀

so excited like a kid at Christmas

I had 3 sets of wheels light set DT4.2’s , hope hoops with flows and another heavy duty MTX4’s set for the Alps , just ended up with the flows and sold the other two seemed light enough fo XC and strong enough for the max limits I am capable of.

In two weeks I used 2 sets on the front and 3 on the rear , going up a size on rotors would help I had 185mm rotors with Avid Code 5’s on my Heckler, I found Super tacky compound up front helped as well on Maxxis Minions 2.35’s most people were running 2.5’s dual ply, but I’m not that awesome.

[His heart started going “boom biddy boom biddy biddy biddy booom.”]
Ok thanks , my wife and eldest daughter, have a similar problem, they are very carefull when carrying out exercise, mainly Zumba and the occasionl bike ride, stopping for rests and not slowly dropping their heart rate can make for a very unpleasant time, but I’m guessing there are many heart problems all with different concequences,
good luck Ton, I am sure you will find a direction that makes you happy.
