5′ 10″ is right on the two sizes I’ve had Medium and Large SC medium were more chuckable , Large more comfortable on longer rides , I’m 5′ 9″ short legs long body.riding a Large TRc at the moment, with v.short stem wide bars :D

I bought the triple sold the rings and bb for £150 , cranks were on offer for £284 on crc so £134 for the crank arms :D then fitted an e-13 single ring and some KCNC chainring bolts that finished the cranks of nicely.

Update on my bike ended up buying a 6 month old Blur TRc, so far its a great bike, climbs well especially techy stuff, and goes down hill and corners like its on rails , having to to recalculate my mind :D

I asked this a while back general feedback was it was quite gravity orientated, and to go for Alpine instead, so I’ve bought a SC Blur :-)
But I still hancker for a Patriot they are so grr looking, would be a hoot on some real rocky mountains

It gets harder as you get older I’m 50 and still try to do what I did when I was 25 and I can’t, I’m slowly giving up trying to and now just go and enjoy myself, if you push too far it takes ages to recover I have found, but I still push myself because its fun to do so, just not to the point of blowing up and injuring myself. If I enter a duathlon ,xc race etc I don’t go in to win ( I don’t train enough or have the lightest bike or the the best trainers ), I do it for me and to just get the best performance I can, with what I have, and most of all to have fun. :D

My Butcher did a similar thing it was down to the thread being to long on the main axle the bearing flatened the threads it moved around damaged the bearing , sent them to Jungle they replaced with new modified axle with shorter thread and new bearings, I spoke to them first very helpful guys, was back up at the end of the week.

I went to 10 speed but found only needed a 1 x 10 for 99% of my riding 36 upfront and a 36-11 out back simple system but you do need a chain device and the new plus systems dont work without one, chain still drops.

I have had a ride on the SB66 alloy nice bike , have consideed the 66c version , rode a medium with a 90mm stem felt huge, so not a good test small would have been similar to the medium SC, I ride a medium Butcher at the moment. My only Yeti ownership was a small Arc with 80mm Fox fork was light and fun, but my back doesn’t cope with hardtails.

I had the older Talas 150, 130, 110 only used the 130 on steep long climbs maybe twice, the fork locked out at 150 was fine for climbing

probably dont ride very nicely at 140, maybe more balanced at 120, never ridden one, like the look of them though :D cant imagine breaking one , they are pretty well built bikes at Orange.

+1 on Santa Cruz Heckler my wife rides one as said they are short TT and plenty of travel, 150mm front and back,
I took one to the Alps for two weeks it was great really looked after me and the new one is slightly slacker , with taper steerer and ISCG mounts great value , cheaper than a 5.

I was going to have a ride @ Oneplanet , but my daughter crashed her car and I never got a chance, the two demos had gone back,
I will ask if they can get another to try, and the Trc so I can compare both.
One of the staff has offered for me to have ago of there own bike , very kind of them , I will have a quick sit tomorrow hopefully.
