thanks for the advice – pistons all the way back, rotor is skimming the inside of the caliper.

I’m going to take off the lock nuts and see if there are any spacers or scope for washers.

I got Clean My Mac free with parallels.

It’s ok tbf, but like parallels, every time Mac OS upgrades, they want you to shell out for a new version and stump up some cash. You don’t have to do this but the nagging is annoying.

I have a slightly older Bob Jackson / Merlin frame – it has similar loops which work when you have bar end shifters, but I don’t have braze ons for levers, only 2 cable stops where they would normally be.

We have 2 trailgators – they do the job, but set up has to be spot on otherwise your passenger will be leaning over (a lot) or their handlebars will not be straight. The clamps do mark the kids’ bikes too. Hitching is a bit fiddly but not too bad. I tend to leave the hitch on one bike. They are cheap, especially second hand. The clamp that holds the trailer bar when your kids are riding on their own really needs flat drop outs – I’ve got cowled drop outs on my bike and this makes it fiddly to attach.

I’ve not used the Follow Me, I think I’d have to see one in the flesh to see if it’s worth the money.

Niggles aside, they do the job and let us attempt longer rides knowing that if the kids get tired, they can have a tow.

I had one of those Syncros QRs fall apart – the head was threaded on with a tiny spot weld(?) keeping it from coming unscrewed.

No braking involved, just a low speed heave and twist on the bars and it shot off into the bushes…

I’ve used Shimano QRs ever since.

I saw the toilet lorry + they got a clean + new rolls.

Emptied in the nick of time in the quiet field :-)

Always keep a loo roll in the van… you never know when you’ll need it!

EDIT – Don’t give the UK tag people any more money. Especially for with a quartz tag.

Got a couple of pairs of Bolle safety specs here. Not sure about distortion, but it’s the reflections that spoil them for me.

+1 on the big hands / midge comment.

I just could not get on with them at all – got Salsa wood chippers now.

EDIT – I am curious about maybe using Mary bars + MTB brake levers though

    It’s well worth hiring a T5 for a week/weekend.

We did this last summer when we were thinking of converting our van.

    Q+A: The Lisbon Treaty

Under EU rules, the treaty had to be ratified by all 27 member states before coming into force. The last country to ratify the treaty was the Czech Republic, which completed the process on 3 November 2009.

I’ve got something similar – great for air beds, but not enough oomph for normal tyres. :)

T4 Kombi / Caravelle has folding removable seats fitted with mushroom bolts.

Kombi seats fold forward flat, not too sure about caravelle options.

Floor pan has dents marking where bolts need to fit – I retro fitted a 3rd seat in the middle row drilling these out and fitting OE bolts. Rear row is trickier – only caravelle/minibuses with rear windows have the reinforced seatbelt mounting points.

Try Aviva – mainstream insurer, no problems with mods, and I’ve been through a claim process with them too.

Have used Brentacre but wasn’t a fan of their MakerStudy(?) policy they sell.

@hammerite – thanks for the tips – did you go with a company or DIY?

I’m thinking about catered if poss as we’ve done the self catering option pre-kids.

We’ve done AdHuez too. How do you rate Austria vs France?
