I’ve done work on my G-Shock with parts from these people. Very helpful. Got some bits on special order for me too.

    https://www.watchbattery.co.uk/Casio-Watch-Parts.shtml

Take the watch apart carefully – you can lose the piezo spring on some of them.

And if you take the mechanism apart completely to say change the LCD, I recommend doing it in a box or bag to catch any tiny springs that may fall out. don’t ask me how I know this…

    I use https://www.lenstore.co.uk/ these days

I was happy with SpecSavers, but their subscription service didn’t work for me as a very light user. I ended up with a huge stack of lenses that took me 2 years to work through!

I find these quite good, but I have a feeling they might be discontinued.

When I bought my car it had what must have been years worth of dead leaves and tiny crab apple(?) things in there.

It’s a regular job between services to take it off and clear it out or the car starts to smell musty. Bad design, but no electrics nearby and it’s easy to get to so could be worse.

g-shock + legibility…. that might mean _some_ of the Casioaks, depending on what model/hand colour + lume they have! I’ve been looking and most g-shocks are shocking!

I’m in the same boat and did my CBT a few weeks back. It was a good experience on a load of levels.

Good luck getting any DAS training though, everything is booked up until August at least.

@spicer how are you getting on with your door? I’m thinking of buying one myself.

Tony Ellsworth was controversial. Josh Bender got them a lot of publicity.

Their lifetime warranty (thanks Freeborn!) was good.

My Isis (that name has not aged well!) had a cracked swing arm which was replaced, a cracked front end which was replaced (with a Joker)

My Joker frame still got a load of interest when I put it on the vintage for sale group with crack in the seat post clamp slot. Some people love them.

I’ve fitted a couple now, 1 to a Honda Accord fitted into the factory sat nav screen and one in my van to a Pioneer double DIN touch screen radio. Both just composite video. I think all the touch screen stereos support rear view cameras, auto switching when you select reverse.

Honda did a full set of instructions telling you step by step what trim to remove etc. Invest in some trim removal tools and take your time as you go. Use grommets and protect cables as they pass through the bodywork + panels. You don’t want to have to go back and repair anything! No drilling required both times. Nowhere near as scary as drilling the bumpers for sensors :) Honda wanted £300 for the kit, I think my camera was £15 off ebay.

Both cases I used cameras that replaced a number plate light. Worked well enough, but it would be nicer if they were dead centre on the car.

Like some others have said – there will be an owners forum and a step by step guide somewhere.

    NSPCC Donation made…

Just out of interest, what size charity donation would it take to switch to road bikes for races on the road? :-)

That link is good ^^^ follow those steps.

Assuming this an external USB drive, take the drive out and put it in a different caddy.

Cat 5 cable (exterior grade is you want but I’ve got standard cat 5 that’s been outside for >10 years and is fine)

Same here – but only 9 years :)

But it would be easy for me to swap the cable out if anything went wrong.

I’m about to put my original Spesh Strongarm cranks back on my 97 rockhopper A1. Should make it look original :)

I’ve got the 5 bolt cranks, so I printed off the template from Sheldon Brown to check the BCD (94mm) and I’m going to order + fit a Surly steel single ring. No chance of narrow/wide on 5 bolt and it’s my commuter bike these days.

Yep, I have 10 speed Tiagra STIs with 9sp XT rear mech on my Zwift bike, all good.

Double check the exact pull of any STIs you’re thinking of getting, certain levers (10 sp Ultegra? 1 model of Tiagra?)  have different cable pull.

I have much less space than you in my loft, so I had to fit one of these. No hand rail though.

I can’t remember how long I’ve had it now, but it’s been fine.

Some good inspiration here. I’m doing my garage soon.

I was wondering about hinged double doors instead of up+over / roller doors – the thinking being you can open it without showing everything to the world. Has anyone done this?

+1 for the heated drying rack here. We just have the cheap one from Aldi but it works well. Lakeland one would be better but costs 3x as much.

What sort of dehumidifiers are people using?

The fake leather/rubber is a nightmare when it gets old – I have a coffee grinder that had the matt grippy surface on it that went sticky.

What worked for me was isopropyl alcohol. If you’re lucky it comes off with that plus a kitchen towel. otherwise a nail brush does the trick.

That’s a meta 5.5 with “VIP” paint job

I could sell you a Meta 5 frame + shock with the 4x swing arm (similar to the one you’re looking at)

The frame was a warranty replacement after my first meta 5 cracked :)

I had a winning bidder not pay. eBay is pretty rubbish about this.

It was up to me to chase payment, then after 48 hrs I could cancel the sale + relist.

Stupidly, I made a 2nd chance offer to another bidder. He’s paid up but now hasn’t collected for over 2 weeks.

I just wanted to clear my shed out  – I think I’m giving up on selling on eBay :-(

What load rated T5 do you have? Having a T32 will limit your options.

IIRC rimstyle.com will show you which of their alloys are load rated for your van based on reg number.
