you might want to try out a few newer bikes (might not be easy in lockdown) if moving from 26″ trad geo – I’ve gone from that to a modern XC and they are far more capable than you would expect

I also used to do red trail centre on my old 26″ bikes, unless you’re really hitting the blacks hard are you going to be overbiked most of the time?

Voodoo Bizango carbon (halfords) has more modern angles so might be a compromise?

also a Vyron user (100mm on xc) – not had any issues finding the button (with shroud) and I tend to be fairly deliberate in using a dropper so the slight delay isn’t a problem
the easy fit is a massive plus

it can take a bit of finding but most should be there on demand – it’s a bit easier on the the TV app where you can search events, find last years xc and then view series which opens all years back to 2016….

starting from this link on PC may help https://www.redbull.com/gb-en/events/uci-mtb-world-cup-snowshoe-live-stream/2019-UCI-World-Cup-and-World-Championships-calendar

and since you’re trying out a different configuration then reusing what you’ve got makes perfect sense

yep, had a set of the 2004 ones, the top (brass) hex key was to adjust the rebound, it was very long
they were nice forks once set up though

the boardmans appear more of a ritchey clone tbh – I’ve had a couple of years from a pair with no issues so far, I also run a mix of pedals/cleats (shimano and compatibles), there is perhaps slight play with some combinations but not sufficient to be a problem

red bull tv have the past UCI events as well so downhill with Atherton, Seagrave et al…. (as well as the cross country – last years Lenzerheide with Neff and Courtney battling for overall)

and Singletrack have a dedicated female channel 🙂

I’ve reused ‘carbon’ bungs (x-lite,hope) many times with no issues – they aren’t specific to carbon btw, means you dont have to mess about with damn star-fangled nuts on a new fork…….

can’t comment on the crown race as I’ve always used the one that was with the headset

One of the old bokor’s – lovely frame – I’ve still got mine running on 26″

As an aside, people have tried running this frame with 27.5″ with some success (moveable dropouts helping here)

ordered a seatpoost from them (which I could see was ‘stock with supplier’) – it took a little while to arrive but no problems otherwise

look for one with anti-snap – the weak point on the standard cylinders is where the screw goes, once broken the cylinder can just be pulled/pushed out

it helped for me – although my partner does say that I tend to hide behind the diagnosis since then, we already had a good idea from other diagnosed family plus an “informal” diagnosis from an ASD specialist to go on, for me removing the slight ‘am I / am I not’ uncertainty was reassuring

(love em or hate em but….) british cycling covers a lot of XC plus other events https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/home

I’ll defer to the better informed on the marathon side though

there used to be a lot of local ‘sportives’ in the calderdale area run as charity events by the scouts and suchlike – other areas might have similar

what do people do about liability insurance these days (if at all)? I know british cycling do the silver etc to cover racing and seen this one which almost seems too good to be true (https://www.laka.co.uk/perks/thirdpartyliability)?

I’ve got marta mag SL calipers with 9sp xt dual control levers – works perfectly, power and modulation are spot on, admittedly they might be a bit older than you’re looking at……

does it have internal dropper post routing though? I can’t see the usual bottom bracket avoiding ports….

decathlon sell some single plastic ones in brown/yellow/clear – used these with no problems
    think about £5 per pair

can’t remember his exact placings but they were reasonably good, he did mix it up with other more targeted sessions, the through the night routes were to get him used to riding on lack of sleep as well as getting some miles in

a mate training for 24hour solo would pick a route about 12-16 hours (setting off friday evening was a favourite) meeting up with one of us at different sections to help break the monotony / make sure he was still alive…..
