can’t see point in Truflo Supertrax volume switch as a track pump will be a reasonable volume anyway – can seat mtb tubeless with mine as well as up to 150 psi

looks like the clue may be in the name :-)
thinking pure cyclocross bike rather than gravel

shifters vs mech is so spot on – and opposite to the manufacturer’s let’s bling the mech approach
spend the money on the bit that you feel rather than the bit that gets torn off in rock strikes :-D

No. 5 – the amount of comments I get regarding what “bike club” is a euphemism for….. :-D

As an aside, it’s interesting that gravel and bikepacking have become so intertwined recently.

it’s called touring, been around for years :-)

Leading on from that, it’s versatile, instead of owning and maintaining both a mountain bike and a road bike, plump for one gravel bike

    no, doesn’t scan…..

We’ve had the predicted death of XC for more than 20 years now – with the younger riders to lead the way (Lecomte, Richards, Pidcock, VDP, etc) I think those of us who do like XC will be more hoping for a resurgence…..
I’ll actually predict that BMX could also increase after the olympics – perhaps BC will now realise that supporting grassroots should be a given (although we’ve been asking for that for over 20 years as well….)

hope head doctor in FGF ? has anything changed with it as I’m sure I had one of these on my 26″ bike 10 years ago…… since balloons were not involved it may not have been a head doctor though and my definition of head doctor evidently isn’t the same as everyone elses :-)

“This one is designed for Trail and Enduro riders but with a big nod to the potentially higher impact speeds for those riding e-bikes.” ?!?!?

so I’ll need one on my pedal power only cross bike the next time I overtake an e-bike on the flat ??? or doing 40mph plus downhill on the road bike ???

only time I see e-bikes going faster is uphill……

slacks??? SLACKS???? and you thought I was complaining about the pants thing……. you’re way too 1930s posh now :-)

the Topeak stuff I’ve used has been good but £55 for a tubeless repair kit and inflator is pushing it somewhat

hope Lauren enjoys the new job :-)

perhaps £25 off the shoes and no cleats would make more sense (and be more environmentally friendly) given the reasonably large numbers of users of other brands of clipless pedal?

I’ve run the recon front / aspen back combo and really liked it, for muddier conditions I’ve gone forecaster front / recon rear

as AdamT mentioned you’ll get away with Am pentatonic – however this scale probably needs a health warning – far to easy to not progress past it as it will probably do 95% of what you want (yep, I know this from experience) :-)

I’d also not worry too much about not being good enough, I’m far from professional (and far from good) but with supportive friends eventually got enough confidence to play live

this is free – I don’t do huge amounts of image stuff (and it’s surprising what you can do with windows paint :-) ) but this has more features than I use – just don’t tell someone you’re downloading gimp software

But don’t WAPs require a hardwire connection back to the router?

mmm, sort of – the backhaul isn’t a requirement for mesh and is just a mechanism to get around the range extender problem of talking to devices and the other routers on the same channel, however as mentioned it does make setting up the expensive new network easy without needing cables….

using access points hardwired avoids the same issue but most aps can be configured as range extenders if you don’t mind the bit of a performance hit

mesh has the advantage that the aps can participate in handoff between themselves as you move a device around the house and reduced switching times, in reality most people don’t require this as your device should cope quite happily on it’s own :-)

I’d bear in mind that your existing ISP router will be very unlikely to support v/k/r roaming so unless you want to future proof or replace the lot I’d suggest using an old router if you have one lying about, as Peaslaker mentions you can use same SSID etc.

..or just a cheap and cheerfull AP, so biggest consideration is probably what speed you want the ethernet backbone to run at (assuming your ISP router support 1Gbps)

sorry – just seen last update, you ‘should’ be able to use the BT router as modem only by just turning the wifi off and setting other routers/aps up accordingly

looking round you could get hosting/domain/mail inclusive for below £40/year but this does then need some tech knowledge for setup and edits so a lot depends if you like the convenience of wix
being a business you should at least be able to put it through the books….

what is it with pigeons and solid objects? one flew straight across our garden at full tilt and crashed into the house wall, suffice to say it was joining Speckled Jim and his friend the Norwegian Blue after that……

simply because both were highly survivable aircraft in their respective theatres

interviews with (surviving) pilots often show them valuing this attribute for some strange reason :-D

many hurricane pilots were on record as envying the spitfire’s climb rate but preferring the ease of handling and amount of punishment the hurricane could take

Neil Gaiman – Neverwhere, Stardust, American Gods, Norse Mythology
Tolkien – Unfinished Tales (does help if you’re a lotr fan though…..)
Robert Holdstock – the Mythago books
Stephen King – Dark Tower series, Sleeping Beauties

I wouldn’t dismiss these as ‘young adult’ books – that’s often more a publishers label than anything

Alan Garner – Weirdstone trilogy, Owl Service
Garth Nix – Abhorsen + Keys to the Kingdom series

I’d say all the original series books through to chapter house are strong, not quite so keen on the (co-written) sequels/prequels

What do you mean ‘to tame a land’ is dreadful??? :-P
