if you have to cut the steer tube off in the Vice, little tip, if you have an old 5-10mm alloy head set spacer that you dont mind damaging, slide this down the steer tube to your cut line, put this against the jaws in the vice (not in the vice) clamp the steer tube in the vice and use the head set spacer as a guide to give you a streight cut.
The Park SG-6 is worth investing in, along with being used to cut steer tubes down its good for bars and set post and those odd houshold plumbing jobs that turn up now and again

Hairspray, Plus it sticks them back on when you replace them again, GT85/WD40 does not do this. All good spanner men have hair spray in their tool box

Compressor is the way to go, we have one on the team van,we have a 25 ltr tank, Oil free type with a water trap.retracting hose real next to the side door, compressor mounted on the left wheel arch probably the most used bit of kit at the races, great for blowing dirt off, water off after washing the bike, and best of all Tubeless tyre inflation, if you get a Topeak blow joe hose repair kit, this can be used on one of them blowers with a nozzle, the blow joe hose goes on this clamped with Jublee clip, it does not have a gauge so you know what the pressure is, but Bohle do a nice electric pressure gauge. come and check out how we do it on the Salsa team at the bike events this year.

I used to drive 75,000 year, all in Diesels, I now only do 24,000, splite between the van and car, both Diesels, one with 113,000 on the clock, one with 95,000 on the clock, neither burn any oil and run sweet as a nut, if you service them regular, dont thrash the NUTS of them they will look after you well, I changed to Diesels over 25 years ago and would NEVER go back to a petrol.

Spray with Much off, clean chain and rear mech with Jiza with a brush and chain cleaner, hose down with hot water (my outdoor luxury)then wash down with hot water with Turtle wax Zip wax by hand, scrub the tyres clean (also gives you the chance to check for tyre damage) rinse down with hot water again, wipe of with a chamee, lube chain with purple Extreme, little GT85 on F/R mech and fork stanchans/rear shock, wipe excess off, keep in warm place, Bike always runs a treat every ride, Site down and have a brew and a chocolate hobnob or 2, job done.

No, there has been no cases of fatal crashes in Europe but it was amazing how many came out the wood work on the Radio 2 on Thursday and they had been palmed off with the drivers mat getting stuck under the pedal.

My Fiat Van, if you left foot brake with your foot on the gas, it kills the gas, so you are not able to left foot brake, I know other fiat cars are like this and I would think other brands with "fly by wire" throttles are the same ?.
Going on what the guy from Toyota was saying on JV Radio 2 programme today its all in the electronics in the pedal and condensation causing the problem.

I was listening to Jeremy Vine Monday on Radio 2 and I admit I was in tears listening to the lady that helped her husband die as he had cancer, I lost my mother, she was 49 and sister 11 years, from cancer, I watched my mother fight cancer for 16 years, she never smoked in her life and loved working in the garden along with running her own business, the last year of her life was hell, she was a fighter, she became house bound and Dad and I had to look after her 24/7 but after all those years she had had enough, she was told a way out but it would involve outside help, if we had youthanazia (sorry if thats spelt wrong) my mother would have taken it, Im sorry but in a modern world were we can put our dog out of pain why the HELL can we not have the option to put our loved ones out of the extreme pain they are going through and you and they know they are not going to get better.she died piecfully in a hospice looked after by fantastic Mcmillan Nurses. Thank you

I think you can do it with an ISIS tool, if its not that, the shimano style one will work, I cannot remember which one I used to put my SKF BB in with, By the way, they are a great BB. They last a long time.

A lot of company estates/hatches cars on big company now have a brace securing the splite rear seats, this is done for insurance reasons. as a tool box in a 30mph impack could come through the seats, this is typical of any car with splite folding rear seats so an estate is no more a hazard than your standard family hatch back, rule of thumb is heavy items ie tools box always put against the rear seat so they are not moving forward before they hit the seat.

This may sound harsh, BUT I would stay off both till your knee is repaired, otherwise you are going to pay for it in later life, talking from experiance, I used to fell run and alpine climb in my teens through to my 30s and my knees were becoming shot to the point that I was advised to stop, took up cycling and its helped a great deal but every now and again they remind me.

If you get one, get the BIG Oil Burner, its a beast. The Alfa Diesel was used in the old Vectra, its probably the nicest Diesel engine on the road today. having driven most diesel cars over the last 20 years, including lots of Pugs.
Unfortunately with an Alfa its the rest of the car that lets it down, great cars but the Build is still a little behind, rattles and squeaks come to mind. just get shot of it before its first MOT

Not only should the people be fined for doctoring the plate, the company that did it should also be fined as there are rules now to getting new plates done, you have to produce your V5 along with 2 forms of ID, this all has to be logged if the DVLA do a check on the provider, PLUS even if you have a "P" plate its NOT your property, its DVLA property, you are just the gardian of it.(PS I have a "P" plate and it cost £143)before anyone has a go at me who knows me.

If it was full of water and you were unable to avoid it if a car was coming the other way, how were they to know how deep it was, I hit a pot hole several years ago, looked like a puddle but it bent the inside of the alloy wheel, it was then rubbing on the brake disc,

I use both a TomTom and a Garmin Nuvi for work and the TomTom is the more user frendly tool, They both have there good and bad points but if I had to choice one in would be the TT the map display on the TT is better.the Garmin is more pocket size which is good as it lives in my jacket pocket when not being used.
But saying that I use a Garmin 705 GPS for mapping the courses for the Thetford events and it works fantastic for that job.
