Cheers zokes! I’ll see what I can do about getting back to Australia..

fongsaiyuk – unfortunately those codes aren’t recognised. I think it has to be a 12 digit one. I reckon the codes on the ringpull of multipack cans aren’t valid as you just get all the points in one go.

Thanks very much psychle, I got to the codes before someone else did this time 🙂

Many thanks to Mike for 2 multipack codes : 20 more points in the bag. Only 51 to go now!

Thanks JonW, but it seems someone got there before me! Not to worry.

On multipacks it is printed on the inside of the cardboard pack.

They’re saying I’m vetoed from entering codes today and to come back tomorrow. Something has gone wrong.

Don’t worry Matt, I stay in Oban so I drink plenty of that stuff too.

Something bad has happened, apparently I’ve entered a wrong code too many times today and need to try again tomorrow so hold your horses muppetWrangler! Thanks for that code though 🙂

We’re going to play so much football once this arrives.

Thanks dux, though that code isn’t recognised (it hasn’t already been used, just not recognised).

Keep them coming! Thank you all.

Thank you very much thegreatape, I don’t think it makes too much of a difference what model of coke the code comes from.

    Thanks robh!

philc – it’s a deal and I’ll gift the £250 to the forum.

z1ppy – only 74 now. It’s insane, I have no idea who can collect that many – the football is the cheapest ‘merchandise’ reward that isn’t a glass or fridge magnet.

Fear not, it worked, many thanks philc! It is true you can only register a code once.

    I’m up to 24 now.

    Just an update…

I tried to buy the Alpkit one, but for some reason my paypal details didn’t work out and so the payment was never sent and I only realised once it was too late… This meant I went to the local outdoor shop and bought a Rab Storm bivi for my night on Coll. I was very impressed with the Storm, especially when it poured down and I could zip myself in. The chap next to me had an Alpkit one and said that the drawstring closure meant he got midges to the face.

I think I’d have been happy with any I bought, but the most important thing is I’m looking forward to many more adventures with my bivi bag.

    Thanks for all your help,

    Chris

Cheers, military surplus isn’t really a goer unfortunately the nearest store is a long way away sadly.

Is the Alpkit one good? I’ve always thought of Alpkit as being a bit like Superstar (not in a negative way – I’ve just never bought from either company). I guess for thirty quid you can’t go wrong though, right?

Thanks for the replies guys, this puts my mind at ease.

Spoon – thank you very much for the offer, I’m not sure of time constraints – I believe I get into Cornavin at 1240 for a flight at 1610. I think it may just be best to leave it at the airport in case there are any delays. Seriously great offer though, I appreciate it.

I wouldn’t bother with a surge. Saw some ****t riding one on the Cairngorn plateau recently.

It looks like he’s wearing a St Andrews top too.

If you’re looking for a XXXC setup, I think they’re a great bike, just don’t be like that guy.

Go and bum around your mate’s house in Oban or somewhere cooking for him. Good times guaranteed.

make reservoir horizontal, remove lid, spread pistons apart and keep them that way.

attach a tube to bleed nipple, open quarter a turn, squeeze brake lever slowly to bar, close bleed nipple, release brake lever. Repeat until no air comes out and keep the reservoir topped up (I find every 2 lever depressions). Tap hose to get bubbles out and to top.

I did a local 10.5 mile time trial round Loch Creran and knocked 45 seconds off my P.B. That was a happy ride (including the vomit in mouth half way round) after a very stressful day in the office.

I was there for 2 nights at the end of April. Incredible place, everyone super friendly – a car even drove all our bags from one part of the island to the other for us as we were on bikes. You can camp absolutely anywhere. Just find a nice spot, ask the nearest house (who will offer you a spot in their garden / shower / anything you want) and enjoy. The coop is good for beer and ice and everything else. There are endless white beaches with blue water, it’s another world. Hard to believe it’s in the same county as me!

    Camping spot number 1:

    Camping spot number 2:

    Token sunset:

I can easily tell you where camping spot number 2 is because it’s in the cleavage of what looks like some tits in the NE of the island.

Ah great, OP thanks for asking this, I’ve never been able to do it, you’re not the only one who didn’t know. I can write anything here

Why does doing it in Italics only mean you can change whatever you’re quoting as crikey says? Surely this way means you can still write whatever you like ?

Probably a bit too big for my needs really and not expensive enough.

That’s what I thought when I re-read my post and realised I don’t have any special needs in particular.

    I’ll try Dell…

I have an 11″ macbook and find the screen a bit too small for working on (writing mostly). I won’t be editing photos, will probably watch the occasional movie and iplayer program on it, no games, hdmi input (because I already have the cable) and sound not crucial because I already hook my laptop to speakers with bluetooth.

I guess my requirements aren’t that great really! Just a bigger screen so work is more comfortable, more real estate to move papers around and write stuff.

    Cheers

There’s an underwater hockey club here in Oban, octopush is a name for it I believe. Incredible sport to play, you basically hold your breath for an hour moving a puck about on the bottom of the pool with a stick.

    My 3 cents:

    Levis.

Always very friendly in my local shop (Glasgow – 3.5 hours away) and students get 20% discount.

Best jeans ever. Last for years and there’s a cut to suit each occasion.

To put it in context, the average winning speed down the Fort William track is 22 mph; down Mont St Anne it’s 24mph and down Champery it’s actually only 14mph! (OK so at Pietermaritzburg the winning average speed was 28mph but it’s an exception!)

Citation? I would have thought it faster.

I operate a 32, 11-36 setup and I ride a lot of high places in Scotland, mostly over 914m. It works a treat for that.

When my commuter bike broke and I had to use that for a spell, it was a pain. For trail centres / easier riding / racing, I’d definitely go with a 34. For hitting steep stuff, 32 is all you need. If you’re spinning in 32:11, you definitely don’t need to go faster!

EDIT: Citation found (at least for Fort Bill). I stand corrected:

    Pretty flipping fast still.
