The EA is working for the vendor – not you. As Chris suggests I would arrange the surveyors visit and just turn up.

Talk to the surveyor directly and make sure they are happy for you to be there.

Won’t matter. Just stick them back in.

I guess it’s because as you pedal the bike shifts about under you … if you weren’t pedalling in sync the bike would get unbalanced. That’s just a guess.

How does the second cottage access his garden?

    Best question.

    erm….. experience suggests otherwise?

Exactly. Trying to attach something heavy like a cupboard to plasterboard is never going to end well. Those fasteners are awful … not fit for purpose.

The Lenovo i7’s I recently bought have VGA and Displayport only, no DVI. Does / did anyone ever use Displayport?

The main advantage of the Garmin would be battery life. Just depends how long your rides are.

Why not a vacuum instead of helium?

Because the heads actually ‘fly’ or float above the disk surface … you need a gas in there so this can happen. In a vacuum the heads would touch the disk and wear out pretty quickly!

Talky Toaster free one works well for me.

The hardest bit about running is getting out of the door.

    Ain’t that the truth.

Looks very very clean. Well done.

Pay a visit to Retrobike and post some pictures there.

Up to you – but I’d run Cat5e. 6 is horrible to work with.

Does the friction material on the pad match the extent of the wear we can see on the disk? As has been said – does it just need bedding in?

A picture from behind would help.

We binned our delivery a few years ago – mainly because in the summer it was often warm (and went off very quickly) and in the winter it would freeze. Also the diesel truck at 2 or 3 in the morning woke me up.

Tesco now deliver 10 pints a week … and stays fresh.

I’d get a bluetooth headunit. All my music is on a tiny usb stick that barely sticks out … and I notice some of the units no longer take CDs which make them shorter (therefore easier to fit).

I advise people to use one of these … anything that is independent of your ISP. Then if EE become crap you can move and not worry about losing your email address.

Resolution isn’t that high but it will be fine if you are just using it for powerpoint etc. 3000 lumens so plenty bright enough. On budget too!

As above, main issue will be fouling on bottle cage mount. Mine won’t take one because of this.

For a F22 -> R32 will be more than adequate. The expander is designed for a 1x drive train.

We’re not far from Chester. For the past two years we’ve gone overnight from Portsmouth to Caen or St Malo on Thursday night. Big breakfast, then drive down. Coming back we’ve gone Saturday night … then onto the quiet UK roads early Sunday morning. Home before midday.

Wouldn’t do Plymouth again … seems to add a fair few miles.

If you do consider Portsmouth – joining the Brittany ferries club costs but you usually make it back with the discount. If you know someone who is a member already you could be an associate member and save more. And you get free breakfast on the overnight!

Not looked at getting the Sanef tag yet – but get a euro currency card – the toll booths don’t require a PIN so it’s pretty quick.

Also, I’d never consider it now without satnav.

Even comes with 105 brake calipers … most others will put cheap crap on. Looks good.

I’ve been using it since August. No real issues. Have also set up a lot of machines with it at work. Don’t use Edge … just set IE as the default browser.

I’m with you on the clutch. Keeping it in will wear the release bearing I think. If the stop is likely to be more than a few seconds I’ll put it into neutral and put the handbrake on.

Not quite so worried about going down the box when slowing down. I’ll just allow the engine to slow it down and use the brakes – depressing the clutch if the revs get too low. In any case brakes are cheap to replace compared to the clutch. That said – I try to anticipate stops / reductions in speed and use the brakes as little as possible.

I think it helps to realise that both the accelerator and brake use fuel i.e. cost money.
