Looking at fitting mudguards to my 2016 Arkose 2. The SKS Bluemels come in 42 and 45mm … I’m running 700×35 tyres … what size would you recommend?

The mounts are of course higher up on the fork … any tips on fitting? Pictures even?

    Thanks!

My 1996 Orange C16R still gets ridden occasionally, other than the narrow bars it feels great.

Agree … dribble some superglue into the outside of the riv nut. Once you’ve got the original bolt out – use the long bolt / nut / washer method to compress the riv nut properly.

They’re my current colder weather glove – recommended.

Tell the buyer that you are confident it was working properly and they should just ask the LBS to assemble the bike as asked … then come back to you if they have any issues when riding it. Does sound like the shop is sensing a sales opportunity!

Wow … was 10 when I got 8860 for Christmas … good times!

Accept cash only. Otherwise you will have no proof the buyer received the bike.

I’d be wanting confirmation that the driver needs to pay the excess. We were rear ended last year – as it was ‘no fault’ no excess was payable. I presume it all gets recovered from the other party … sorry!

Possible the concrete weights are loose … open it up and check they’re bolted down.

If it’s vibrating too much it won’t spin.

I would agree – the lease doesn’t end because the owner is selling. The new owner becomes the landlord and the lease continues. You would just pay rent to the new landlord.

If you do surrender the current lease – which would have to be agreed by both parties, you of course leave yourself open to having a new less favourable lease imposed.

Arkose X shows as 9.5kg … depends if you like the idea of 1x and bar end shifter.

Yes, there is an online system – but last time I looked you could only book weeks in advance.

That said, ring up and they usually fit you in the same day so I’ve no complaints at all.

I’m doing it at the moment. During the induction talk the staff asked if people we’re going to significantly lose out and if they were to have a private word. I get the impression some were allowed to go after a week. I guess this is down to discretion and will vary on the sympathy of the staff and location.

I started last week and was told not to turn up on Monday as no cases were starting. Arrived Tuesday, but didn’t get a case until Thursday afternoon. My employer is paying my wages anyway, but it has been so frustrating just sitting round. The whole thing does seem very wasteful of people’s time.

Assuming you have the Win 7 key … use it to install Win 10. Would benefit from 4GB though.

If you’re talking about the ‘pre-load thingy’ you could either remove it once you’ve tightened up the crank or nip it up once the crank is tight. Once the crank is tight I don’t think it serves any purpose.

I’ve just bought an Arkose 2 2016 frame (like pclayto above) – any tips on the internal cabling? I guess the gear cables cross over internally … is there a recommended order for inserting them?

    Thanks.

+1 for Evans. Arkose frames from £230 and they include a headset.

I’ve got the 20x too. Screen is small but it works well. Battery life is great. Get a genuine bike mount – they’re not much more than the cheap copies. Still I’d use a lanyard too.

I was put off the 25/35 because the screen is much lower resolution and won’t work with gloves.

+1 sell it on the open market.

You can be sure that if anything goes wrong with it the instalments will stop and it will be your fault!

    Liked this tweet –

That plus a 24″ or 27″ screen that has speaker.

As a non-profit they can get Office365 cheap and could even get an Azure server free ($5000 annual donation).

I wouldn’t give it a second thought. No one is going to check it!

Certainly don’t offer any information that might cause someone to look at it!!

The drives aren’t special … its the box / TV that does the ‘magic’.

Most boxes will have 2 tuners allowing you to record 2 channels (or more in some cases) and / or watch a prerecorded programme. The drive can only do one thing at a time so the box will queue things up for the drive … making it appear like you can do more than one thing at a time.

I don’t think most TVs have this facility though.

Without a doubt – run the cable.

Cable is unimportant … use whatever you have. Cat 5e is easier to work with.

You can get an Access Point for very little and they’re easy to setup. Job done.

We had one where the weights became loose. Take the lid off and check … shouldn’t take long.

To be fair mine has 6 … but I never use 6th as at 70-75 the fuel consumption seems to be better in 5th. Maybe I need to go faster?!

The phone is yours from day one. The contract is for the calls/data.

What phone is it? Many have a 2 year warranty.

I think EE used to charge £20 … so that’s not too bad.

That said, I’m with Vodafone and I think they do one free unlock a year.

Agree. XBox 360 would be good value. FIFA, Minecraft and Lego games seem to be our favourite!

Usually the surveyor will value it at the offer price unless they find a significant reason to suggest it is worth less. Which does suggest you are over paying slightly.

The EA’s price means nothing …

Another for the 2017 A3. Has 2gb ram and 16gb storage which really helps performance. Stick a SD card in for extra storage. Currently paying 19.40 for unlimited calls and 1gb data (Voda). Get the A5 if you want a slightly bigger phone.
