Noise is only coming when coming to a full hard stop. Under light braking no noise. Took them off too see how they look (pic attached). Both front and rear making some noise.

The rattling is terrible. Front the worse. Maybe I should just try a set of non finned resin ones and clean up the discs and go again.

Will have a nose at the Wolfpack ones.

    What sizes are you using?

Forekasters look good. I see there is stock of the 29×2.4 at Wiggle but just dual compound. No idea what I would be looking for. I’m useless.

For 29mm internal rims should I be looking at the normal or WT versions?

Would like same brand. Not sure why! So would you say DHR 3C front duel rear both 2.3? Or would the 2.4 work up front? But it’s WT – not sure what the narrowest rims are recommended for WT versions. Mine are 29mm internal.

What’s the main difference in DHF and DHR?

Glad you mentioned 2.6 is not good! Sounds like 2.4 front and rear would be ok.

Vitoria Agarro maybe another one to look at.

Yeah XR4 comes in both 2.6 and 2.4 so they are another option to look at.

Probably more allrounder than the DHR/Rekon combo? I’m not great on tyre knowledge or what’s good bad!!

Brand X. Decent budget and you can adjust air pressure. Remote is very budget though. I’m using one with bikeyoke triggy alpha and no issues.

Deity Deftrap Look good too. Lots of choice! Burgtec and Deity look like top runners for me.

Was just looking at the Burgtec ones. Another on the short list!

My mum lives in Uckfield. I should send her out for a stakeout.

Hope you retrieve it ok and the seller gets what they deserve.

Was looking at the RATCHET ROCKET LITE DX+ or ratchet rocket. Anyone tried or used both?

Think I will get a 2.6 Agarro when they become available again.

Seems a bit of a shortage at the moment!

Anyone used Maxxis Wide Trail tyres on 29mm rims?

Agarro 2.6 seems very hard to find!

Might have a look at the Rekon combo at some point. I can find the rekon 2.6 in dual or 3C maxterra. Not sure which one is best.

As for the race, have found stock of 2.35 dual. I did see they do a 2.4 but in WT which I think is for 30mm+ rims.

I’m 5ft 10. Might have to look at some higher rise bars as only have 5mm spacer above stem so can’t get the stack much higher.

My renthals are only 20mm rise so maybe it’s time to upgrade to higher rise if I want to use them. I do like the sweep and width as they seem to suit my shoulders and odd wrists.

New bike is orange one. Bars are probably level or maybe just below the saddle.

Will have a play around this weekend and see the results.

Will try saddle tilt and put my narrower bars on. I just like the sweep more.

I’m one of the odd balls who finds less sweep more comfortable as my writs naturally face inwards more than a normal human lol

    Yeah lazy sounds about right!

Strange thing is the bars with the bike are meant to be 27.5mm rise but they just seem an odd shape. I do have a set of Nukeproof V2 carbon bars to try but they are 25mm rise.

Yeah it might be some more core strength is needed. Few pics, not the greatest but even with the higher rise bar on the new bike the grips are in a lower position to the old bike. There is 10mm or so in it.

I can put the 5mm spacer below the stem. Bars are 27.5mm rise which I thought was plenty and thought front end of new bike would have been higher. But guess the change of geometry has an effect.

    I have 1 5mm spacer above stem, 2 10mm spacers below.

Guess bar width would lean me more on the bars? But 20mm doesn’t seem a huge increase.

Will see if I can get hold of different rise bars and experiment and tilt the saddle a bit.

Ideally should my grips be pretty much saddle level?

@grahamt1980 could be. I had time out from biking for a few months and fitness levels are definitely lower.

Would the sweep of the bars have a big effect?

Not sure if this is helpful. But geo between older and newer model:

As someone above mentioned, it might just be getting used to the new geometry. Been riding the old one for 4 years so it’s a bit of a change.

Don’t have any pics but will get some. Old bike was a 2018 alloy Fuel and new one is a 2021 carbon fuel.

Geo has defiantly changed a fair bit over the years. Just might need a bit of tinkering here and there.

My old bars were 760mm with 7 back sweep and stock bars on new bike are 780mm with 9 degree back sweep so that’s a bit of a change too.

No feels quite spacious compared to my last bike which was next size down.

It’s a Fuel M/L. I did sit on a large but it felt too big.

I need to get a 5mm knock block spacer.

If I put one of the 10s above the stem the gap is still going to be over 8mm.

They are my 4 year old renthal bars. The gold has all come off but the carbon underneath is not scratched.

I have a set of Nukeproofs to go on.

Bike has a pretty low stack so think that’s why they come with all 30mm under the bar.

I haven’t put it all back together yet as need to get a knock block 5mm spacer to make it fit.

I am running Barzo/Mezcal combo and think they might me just over 700g. Think the 2.6 versions are over 800g. They do come up well though. Definitely look wider than same size Maxxis I had before.

I’m beginning to wonder if I should just stick with 2 clamps. I have a wolftooth adaptor to use on the other side to attach GX shifter but fit looks a bit suspect and not sure it will angle how I want it too.

    jayx2a

I didn’t even realise Shimano did them! Just had a look and they seem to be far more adjustable than the wolf tooth clamp.

Thank you. This looks like the one!

MM-ISEV is for a SRAM MatchMaker shifter mounting to a Shimano I-SPEC EV brake

Think it’s either the PNW Loam or OneUp.

Going to try the Loam and loam lever this week.

    jayx2a

AXS is out of price range!

Mate said he picked up a PNW Loam today so going to check that out and go from there. Lifetime warranty apparently

However I do like the fact that with the OneUp you can fit slightly bigger rods to deal with any play. I did that on last one and there was zero play.

150mm is all I need, plus kink in frame makes the longer OneUp too long if sizing up to the larger one.

Will have a look at the bikeyoke one

    What about the PNW one?

    jayx2a

^^^^ yep those are the levers I have and they do seem quite long. Ordered the 7100 and a GX shifter at same time.

Very true. Just been looking again and don’t really see much difference.

I have rightly or wrongly assumed this are compatible with MT420 4 pot callipers? Think I read that they are compatible.

Just found sets of both. Difference is £8. m8100 seems a no trainer for £8 extra?
