Is warranty a big issue? The bad side is that certain parts of the Whyte are lifetime warranty (1st owner only) but the Jeffsy has 2 year warranty, but you get the added pain of it not being uk supplied.

Yeah the warranty is the issue, but hopefully any major claims the seller would help – will ask!

@LeeW Up to 12 would be great, majority of bike parts are 3-7 I think, taking it yours is adjustable?

Also, what tools do you need for assembly? Dont want to over tighten anything! Do you not any grease etc.

Finally I read the bike has rub patches on already, still worth getting more helitape or invisiframe kit?

    So many questions lol

South Downs & Friston Forest – I need FS due to my tail bone needing a break and my physio said it would really help!

Looks pretty good – even cheaper in Medium (depending on condition as ex demo).

Ok, well bikes I can try near me…

    Camber 29er (£1500)
    Trek EX 8 29er (£1850)
    Giant Trance 2 2016 (£1599)

Whyte T130s (out of price range… shame!)

Ok – looking at the best colours now lol! Should have got the Boardman before they literally all sold out.

I think I can go try the Camber and the Fuel EX8 29. Both get pretty good reviews!

I really wanted a Kili Flyer last year… wondering how much it would cost to build one up – frame and rear shock now £599 at Evans!

    Have joined the 130mm thread!

Rather than another thread, I am hoping I can join in!

After 130mm bike too – max budget £2000

T130s looks great but out of budget, same again with the Fuel EX9.. but do like it!

    https://www.evanscycles.com/trek-fuel-ex-9-27-5-2016-mountain-bike-EV251300

Other options I am looking at are:

    Trek Fuel EX 8 29:

    Camber Comp (budget for dropper):

    http://www.southdownsbikes.com/specialized-camber-comp-29-2016

Wait for the new Bird… but not sure I want to wait till December.

Any other options at 2k max (really want price to include dropper).

Top tips people – as for the above, I am planted right in the middle!

I’m starting to explore the more techinal trails my way (still avoided some of the drops for now) and am finding it quite a lot of fun, but on the flip side there are no massive drops or jumps so a lot of it is more twisty and fast stuff.

In an ideal world I want a bike that climbs quite well, but is fun on the twisty fun stuff, but can handle the occasional bit of rough!

I was also looking at the Remedy 8 2015 (Pike Front/Fox Performance Float EVOL) rear but was basically told that 140mm would be too much.

Over budget again, but the fuel ex 9 looked to fit the bill:

    Or EX 8 29:

The T130s was on my shortlist but at £2200 its over budget.

Other than that, the Trek EX 8 29 comes in on budget and the Specialized Cambper Comp 29 is under budget (allowing funds for a dropper).

The Trance 2 (2016) is down to £1500 at the moment and comes with a dropper.

Will check out the Kona Process today too.

So basically 100-130mm is the sweet spot – that kind of helps rule out a bunch of bikes which is a good thing.

As for the Boardman – pretty much all sold now!

Pretty good way to carry your repair kit imo. Ideal if you don’t want it all in a pack or just want to carry a small bladder pack.

Guess I will be on a M/L or Large – but at 5ft 11 I’m usually between sizes so probably M/L!

What kind of grey is it? Dark or light?

Edit – found the grey, just not the orange!

Boardman sold out, just got to find stores that have stock! I’m considering a spec camber comp carbon, but not sure if it will fit yet.

Only in medium, but I guess if it does not fit I have myself a nice carbon rolling storage device?

I would love to go for a HT and FS but my budget would not allow!

I was looking at the Aeris but didnt want such long travel, then specced up a TR which I was so close to buying, but then having discovered all the single track near me, I really want FS!

I’m trying to be patient and avoid buying the wrong bike just because I want one NOW!!!

It does look good! Like the Blue, but the orange and grey are both good colours too.

I was thinking about saving more cash for a T130s, but this looks like a really good option.

If I spec one up with same as the T130s (GX/Yari/Dropper etc) it will be about the same price.

It’s nearly same price as Aeris 140, so looking at around 2k for the NX with dropper and £2200ish for the HX or SLX version.

    jayx2a

The NX could be the turning point for me! Might bring it within an affordable budget.

Trouble is I really want a dropper and the lefty would need one, plus Im still not sure on its looks!

The Bird looks nice – but might be over budget, but maybe worth saving the extra!

I changed mind from HT after discovering all the new routes my way, and I was pretty much using the full travel of my Reba.

How much is the Carbon Remedy?

New Bird looks good – on the pre order mailing list so will see how much it comes in at.

Stump would be large I think – medium says up to 5ft 9 and being 5ft 11 puts me firmly on the large. The Camber comp I am borderline on, but not really looked in to that one.

    jayx2a

Not sure I do need 150, but think I need more than 120! Didnt actually look close enough at the stump to see it was 150 – my bad!
