Bike is Matte Silver with some blue pedals.

Which one will make me faster though?

The chronicle does not seem to have the pad issue but it just doesn’t look as solid!!

I was so close to owning a plus sized bike but due to a size mix up I ended up with the 29″ wheels. This weekend I was out in some nasty nasty conditions and I could not fault to Bontrager Team Issue 2.4s!

I did it at home – looked ok but up close I had managed to get hairs, dust etc under it that I didn’t really notice when I put it on.

It was fine to love with – its a bike after all! But when some of the corners started to lift and got mud under them I ripped the whole kit off lol.

Then I just rode the bike, scratched it up – cried at first scratch, then got over it and added some more!!

I have not done it to my new bike. I tend to keep bikes long enough for any damage not to make a difference to the sale price.

Those Kruger ones seem decent for getting 3 sets of tint!

Just found a pair of these at work – result!

    http://betafit.com/shop/betafit-x2-eyewear/x2-xtreme-smoke-tinted-safety-eyewear/

Pretty scratched up but quite comfy! Will try them on next ride and if they are good get another pair.

Can only find them in boxes of 10 though lol

My Trek came with Bontrager XR4 Team Issue and they are excellent – actually handle the current UK conditions very well!

I tried the S150 and I just didnt get on with its at all.

I nearly bought a Jeffsy but due to wanting to try for fit first I didn’t go with it.

Ended up with a Trek Fuel 29 as just felt good on my test rides!

It was well worth trying all the bikes though as was all set for the S150 and nearly bought one without trying!

The 2018 27.5 plus is what I sort of have (just waiting on shop to get me correct size as ended up with wrong frame).

The Nobby Nic tyres are actually quite good in my brief testing. I don’t know if I need plus tyres but time will tell!

The 2018 model is 140mm front – the 29er version is 130mm front.

I do not like long bikes, so the Trek is good for me.

I also test rode the 29er version. Both are nice bikes.

So whats the general opinion on MIPS? Is it worth it?

I think I have a more roundish head – the Bell is comfortable but wanted something a bit more lairy colour wise!!!

M2 looks good – maybe I should just order a selection to try on!

The Bell Stoker is a good fit, so thinking the Super is the same fit.

I get quite hot head so maybe the A1 isnt the best option!

Got new lever – just had a look at my old lever and when I pull out the hose there is what looks like some grey sealent type stuff on the thread of the old lever.

Is this some sort of sealent to stop potential leaks? Will I need to get some for the new levers?

Turns out I have the epic bleed kit. Says you don’t have to remove pads and wheel but other guides say you need too?

I have never bled my brakes before – think I bought a kit though thats sitting at home somewhere!

The installation looks pretty simple! Guess if I get it wrong my LBS can just bleed them for me!

It’s brand new but has been on display so will make sure it’s given a good wipe over before!

Rode the T130s at Quench today. Medium was too small, large was much better! Liked it a lot!

Its defiantly on my short list – but is the longest travel of the ones I am looking at. Trying to locate a dealer to try one out.

Got an email this morning so this thread is of interest!

How is the Stumpy as an all rounder? Trials, hills, flat fast sections etc!

Email was for the 2017 STUMPJUMPER FSR COMP 650B – £1875 (large)

What’s the sizing like on these? I hate being between sizes!!!!! Also hate being super stretched out so don’t know how long these bikes are!

I need to not rush! I do hate being bikeless, but then again, I would rather make the right choice as its a bike I want to keep for a few years.

That 4.2 is around £1800 which seems good – everything sorted bar a dropper post. Put my height in and I am bang on between sizes!!!

The Crush Pro seems to get decent reviews as an all rounder regardless of its travel but having read everyone’s opinions as much as I love the look of it, it’s probably not the right choice!

I have decided on 25mm rise and not a big fan of the gold renthals so going for either the Nukeproof Horizon or the Chromags.

Both look to have quite a strong finish to them.

They are around the same price at £1350.

I was reading a review on MBR of the 2017 Whyte T130 and they were saying how it gets beaten by the Crush Pro, but ones 130 and one is 150?! Surely in slightly different categories?

PayPal will always side with the buyer unless they pay via PayPal gift. To me they seem lazy and just go with the easiest outcome.

I used to enjoy riding my HT a lot more than my FS. Maybe its because I have the wrong FS (although it should be perfect for the South Downs), but I covered so many more miles on my old Saracen Mantra and want that fun ‘want to ride’ feeling back, so maybe I will avoid the longer travel bikes!

I am on the South Downs also – I chucked a leg over one and rode it around the pavements – but you don’t really get an idea of what it would be like in real world riding!
